Ben Thanh Express (BTX) Reviews
Ordered the beef green curry. Normally there’s eggplant, potato’s and or bamboo shoots in it. This time there was only green beans. Like a full can of green beans.. Disappointing for $27. Looking back at the menu it does say only green beans but the dish was 95% green beans. Maybe think about adding an onion or red pepper. It wasn’t very good.
Good, fast service
Affordable meals, sometimes quantity can be a bit less but tasty.
Personally found the Thai green curry to have too much of a kick of the paste and not enough coconut milk. Not sure if the paste was store bought or homemade. Also wish it had more veggies other than green beans only, but overall was good.
The taiwanese popcorn quantity is a bit too less but is tasty.
Pho was tasty and I love that they have a small size.
I like coming...read full review
This was the best Thai in town but over the years quality is decreasing while prices increase - still love their Tom Yum soup but not my go to anymore #contestentry

Ben Thanh Express is a Vietnamese restaurant that has received mixed reviews. It offers a $16 combo with a generous-sized pho, a drink, and a small appetizer. The service is described as friendly, and the atmosphere as nice and quiet. However, some believe there are better Vietnamese-pho options in London with cheaper prices and better food. Despite this, the restaurant has its fans, including one who credits it for getting them through university.
The restaurant's pho is praised for its high-quality ingredients, with the rare beef, brisket, beef balls, and tendon all cooked to perfection. The noodles are described as thin, chewy, and boiled to the exact texture of pho that the customer loves. The broth is also said to be wonderful, and the addition of chopped Thai chili peppers and chili satay adds a wonderful depth to the meal.
The restaurant's appetizers, such as the spring rolls and minced shrimp on sugar cane, are also well-received, with the spring rolls having a crispy outside and the shrimp sugar cane providing a nice contrast between the fish sauce and the sugar cane.
Overall, Ben Thanh Express seems to offer a satisfying dining experience, with great food and friendly service, though some customers may prefer other Vietnamese-pho options in the area.
