“If you’re looking for Jamaican food cooked in a healthy way, head on over to @jerkupcentral ! I ordered the large jerk pork dinner. I enjoyed the steamed vegetables (different from the typical coleslaw), rice and peas and the tasty, lean jerk pork. I washed it down with my favourite @dandgjamaica pineapple soft drink! I go here every other week or so when I'm too lazy to make lunch. You can get a hefty portion of rice and meat of your choice for around $12-$14 (cash only). You can also order meat by the pound and cook your own rice at home.

They've truly perfected the technique. A lot of locals come here for lunch which will result in a wait, but it goes to show how popular it is amongst those in the area. If you're ever around, I'd highly recommend giving this place a try!“

“I work nearby and, I didn't bring food this morning, this store was right next to my office and I was hungry so I got vada, samosa and aloo paratha.

The food was just like home.

“In general, buying Filipino food is a huge hit or miss - often you'll find it's an uneven price:quality ratio where it's costly for something that doesn't even taste that good and you could probably make your own version better.

I've had bulakenyos before I even knew who they were at least 10 times and let me tell you, their lumpia is probably the best I've EVER HAD (2nd to my dad's cooking of course). The meat filling they use is highly addictive, it has the perfect crunch, and it comes in the perfect size. I always end up eating a good 15-20 pcs per round but even then I keep coming back with future meals. My friends even buy in large portions and freeze to make sure they've got steady stock on hand.

Something to know about this place is that they mostly do party trays. They do have a small counter selection of takeout food, but their main focus and menu is the trays.

I also had a chance to try their sago't gulaman which is a traditional Filipino drink perfect for hot summery days made with brown sugar, vanilla extract, water, tapioca and gelatin (I always assume it's grass jelly). I thought it was a bit too sweet but the portion was great, so I can't complain much.

During my first visit to their shop, we ordered ~5 different medium party trays to be ready for the next early afternoon. The portion they served us was huge and we ended up with a lot of leftovers (which means more for me!).

Highly recommend others check this place out! I would say it's a sort of hidden gem.“

“Amazing Veg and Non veg samosas. If you know what south Gujarat (Surti) samosa is, this is the best one so far. We tried their samosa skin, it was the best so far that tried in GTA. Great job guys!Considering COVID time, it’s better to call them first before going there.“

“First time visit and you can tell by the queue that never seems to end how popular it is. The choices are straightforward, you order , pay and wait for your monster sandwich to arrive. I had a chicken deluxe without the tomato and it was enough for 2 people. The breaded chicken escalopes were nicely cooked and fresh - I really enjoyed mine and would recommend it.“

“I've been to Matsuda numerous times over the past 5 years ago and other than during pandemic when they had tables set up in their broken down parking lot with plastic bags tied to each table, serving food in take out containers and only serving cans of pop the experience has been great. On my last visit about 3 weeks ago they were open again as per normal with their lovely decor and great food. The only issue was towards the end my friend ordered a few more items and we waited forever for them to come - we thought they had lost the order so he put in another order of the exact same items. Again it was not delivered to our table so we shrugged and ordered dessert and was half way through when finally his food order came which was about 30 minutes after he ordered (generally food comes in 5 minutes or 10 minutes tops) so he had to eat it and then the second order came which he also had to eat. I can understand if they were busy and behind in their orders but you would think our server would have advised us - I took away one point due to that reason otherwise a great meal and evening!“
