Excelente servicio, muy rico 100% recomendable
Great food and a great atmosphere, modern fine dining.
Went to celebrate a birthday four of us. They sat us across from the bar where there a.bunch of guys and girls drinking and laughing. Started ok than kept on getting louder and louder and kept on demonstrating they are friendly and like each other's which is great . They look like regular but the noise level was unsupportable and to a level they ruined our dinner which was not cheap for four. We paid and left. Al's Steakhouse provides a top-quality dining experience with excellent food and presentation. The restaurant features a diverse menu and attentive service, with many guests praising the beautiful food presentation and perfectly cooked meals. The steaks, including the Sirloin and Ribeye, are often described as delicious and cooked to perfection. The restaurant grills on charcoal, giving all dishes a distinct and delicious flavor that many consider one of the best in North America. Customers enjoy the lively atmosphere filled with laughter and conversation, making it a popular spot for celebrating friendships, romance, or success.
Guests can start their meal with warm, complimentary bread and house garlic sauce for salads, which are highly praised. The menu includes appetizers like zucchini sticks, tuna tartare, French onion soup, crab stuffed mushrooms, and Caesar salad. Unique touches such as the bread served with four sections—white and whole grain—are memorable. Some guests enjoy the Tomahawk steak, often mentioned as perfectly cooked, and the 14oz ribeye with blue cheese butter, served with a kitchen torch to melt the cheese at the table. The Garlic rice accompanying the Butterfly Baked Shrimp is also highly appreciated.
Recent reviews highlight that the food is generally excellent, with some dishes like the salad standing out as outstanding. The "butchers board," which includes thick cut bacon, New York Striploin, lamb chops, bone marrow, chicken kabobs, house sausage, jumbo garlic shrimp, grilled veggies, and crispy smashed potatoes, is a favorite for sharing. Service remains prompt, professional, and friendly, with staff like Caroline and Henry providing attentive care. Some customers note that the acoustics can make conversation difficult, but overall, the atmosphere remains lively and inviting.
Desserts such as coconut cream pie and cheesecake are offered to first-time visitors. While the cheesecake is often praised as the best ever, the coconut cream pie has disappointed some guests due to its density and lack of flavor. The restaurant's history includes being the first in Ottawa to use live charcoal for steaks and having an onsite butcher, adding to its reputation. Overall, Al's Steakhouse is widely regarded as a top choice for a memorable meal, excellent service, and a vibrant environment.
