“The place is truly run by Taiwanese🩵🩵
Love the 魯肉飯Minced pork rice!!! It’s my favorite!! But it would be better if I could order the soft-boiled eggs 半熟蛋with the rice🥹🥹
Anyway, it’s so glad that I finally found local Taiwan dishes in Markham! LOL“

Blindfold me with earplugs, and I'd still find my way to this restaurant, as the unmistakable aroma of stinky tofu is perceptible a mile away. The aroma is actually much more pungent than its taste, and the mouthwatering savoury and salty taste accompanies a light crisp on the golden exterior and a moist, airy interior. It was a wonderful appetizer to the heartwarming bowl of hand-pulled noodles, each strand having a satisfying bounciness that soaks up the beefy, pickled broth with pickled mustard wonderfully. The slices of lean beef are surprisingly tender, but the tendons melt into a gooey, creamy texture in your mouth and release a delicious beefy aroma. Also, the douban chili oil that you can scoop as much as you want? Literal crack.“

Give this place a try because it's great. You get to choose 3 different sides for your main - and it all tastes good!
I chose the braised pork 🔥 with some beans 🫛 bitter melon 😅 and preserved egg 🥚!
Good luck and enjoy 🙂“

“Great food. I especially love the pork cutlet and popcorn chicken. The drinks are also really good, I love the mango yogurt juice especially. There are often speciality drinks that are also worth trying and the tea is also quite good. The service can be a little slow at times (usually during dinner), but it's still generally okay despite them being understaffed.“

“Good place to get some authentic Taiwanese snacks/food (all tea flavored or influenced) and awesome selections of cold/hot beverages. You won’t be disappointed.“

“The food here is good, good amount of portions and especially the best one, popcorn chicken imo. Comes with 3 sides 1 meat and rice. I went to this place a couple times and so far its fantastic. The ingredients and food are fresh and the service is also good. Its a quick pace shop with no place to sit which is a downside but the food court beside makes up for it. The workers are hard working and quick to help. It had been busy all the times I went.“

“Really enjoyed my meal at Xin Yi Time! It’s getting harder to find affordable meals these days, so I was surprised that most dishes here are under $13 while still giving such massive portions.
I tried the Taiwanese braised pork rice and it tasted very authentic — super flavorful, well marinated, and nice and saucy. Every combo also comes with rice and 2 veggies, which makes it feel like a complete home-style meal.
The shop itself is small and simple, run by a friendly Asian auntie, which gives it a cozy homemade vibe. Definitely more of a takeout spot, but great for a quick affordable comfort meal. Would come back again!“

“This is a truly classic and typical Taiwanese dessert shop. Their douhua (tofu pudding) and grass jelly are our absolute favorites. We really need to cherish and support places like this—they are becoming rarer and rarer in Toronto.“

“Pretty dining room with tall ceiling and wood fixtures. Plenty of tables of all sizes.
We ordered one entree item each and 2 other dishes to share (salty chicken nuggets, steamed veggies) .
We all agreed that the salty chicken nuggets were good. The chicken is moist and tender and burst with flavour.
The veggies were hard to chew. Undercooked.
I had pu'er beef brisket noodles as was curious how tea could work together with noodles. The soup base has a hint of sour. I could not find a hint of pu'er. Great noodle texture. The noodle is green tea based by the way. The beef brisket (about 4 pcs in one bowl of noodle) is one of the softest I have had.
I would go back for the salty chicken nuggets when I am around the area.“
