“We went to big fish for the first time tonight and it was amazing! The staff provided quality service and offered to box food we were finished with as we went through our course which I thought was great instead of waiting to box when the entire meal was finished very nice touch for service! Hands down the best steak I’ve ever had in my life!!! We absolutely will be returning thanks again for a wonderful dinner”

“Brownstones Spotlight: Blackwater Coffee Tucked into the heart of downtown Sarnia is a place that doesn't just serve coffee it defines it. Blackwater Coffee isn’t simply a café; it’s a benchmark of style, quality, and entrepreneurial spirit. Long before downtown’s resurgence, Dave the visionary behind Blackwater committed to something greater than just brewing beans. He built an atmosphere. A vibe. A standard. With a relentless work ethic and an eye for design, Dave created a space that feels as good as the coffee tastes. Every cup at Blackwater tells a story of craftsmanship, consistency, and community. And if you've ever been, you know the truth: once you've had Blackwater, you find yourself craving that next cup before you've even left the block. At Brownstones, we know what it takes to build something meaningful in this city. That’s why we’re proud to spotlight Blackwater Coffee a true local gem and a cornerstone of what makes Sarnia special. Here's to Dave, to his incredible team, and to many more years of caffeinated excellence.”

“Brownstones Community Spotlight: Tin Fiddler Every great city needs a few spaces that feel like a little escape and Tin Fiddler delivers that vibe in spades. Nestled downtown, this uniquely hip spot drips local. From the custom design touches to the energetic back patio that fills up fast when the sun’s out, this is the kind of place that makes you forget you’re in a small town and feel like you’ve stepped into something bigger. We’ve got to give credit where it’s due Mia, the owner, has carved out a name that carries weight in Sarnia’s food scene. She’s a force, and it shows in everything from the atmosphere to the team she leads. And yes… we’re big enough to admit it: they serve the best Whiskey Sour in Sarnia (we’ve tested, trust us). Plus, their in-house beer, River Run, is a must-try locally brewed and smooth as it gets. At Brownstones, we know how much hustle goes into building something authentic and Tin Fiddler is exactly that. Respect where it's due. If you haven’t checked it out yet, this is your sign.”

“A Toast from Brownstones to a True Local Staple Sideways At Brownstones, we’ve always believed that great food and atmosphere can bring a community together. That’s why we want to shine a spotlight on one of Sarnia’s true downtown gems Sideways, the brainchild of local hospitality visionary Sean Barlow. Sean has long been a pioneer in shaping Sarnia’s food and drink scene. Back in 2007, he introduced something completely new to the city Limbo Lounge, Sarnia’s first-ever martini bar. At a time when most played it safe, Sean was already thinking two steps ahead, creating experiences that elevated what nightlife and dining could be in our city. Fast forward to today, and Sideways continues that legacy a cozy, stylish bar with fantastic food, curated drinks, and a staff that makes you feel like you’ve just walked into your favourite spot (because you have). It’s the kind of place that reflects not just great taste, but a clear and consistent vision. As fellow operators in this ever-evolving local restaurant scene, we don’t just recognize Sean as a competitor we recognize him as a trailblazer. His commitment, creativity, and contributions have helped raise the bar for all of us, and we at Brownstones genuinely respect and celebrate that. Here’s to Sideways a true downtown staple, and to Sean Barlow a name that deserves to be mentioned whenever we talk about the leaders who’ve helped shape the culinary heartbeat of Sarnia. With respect, The Brownstones Team”
“So I'm home from AZ. Haven't been here for about 7yrs, & it's been an even longer time since coming to Port Huron. Up here to hang out w/ my awesome niece & nephew they bring me here. I ordered the Fried Fish sandwich & had the Mushroom soup w/ it. Boy that soup was some of the best I've had. Can't wait to come back & have more. Thanks for the great service too!!”

“Went with a party of 5. Was greeted by Julie who was very friendly and accommodating. Food was very good. We asked to move seats as it was a little cool near the door. No fuss was made and they were very happy to reseat us. Fun atmosphere and our waitress was excellent.”
“Really can't beat A&W onion rings. If you're not upgrading your fries you're missing out. Pair it with honey to dip and you have a winning combo.
Came by for Chubby Chicken combo with my wife. We had a coupon but forgotten it at home... the cashier was kind enough to still help us out to get a deal!
The sandwich itself was good but seems like their Chubby Chicken has been working out, not as chubby as I would have liked.”
“Delicious food appetizingly presented, and pleasant helpful staff. A very enjoyable experience!”
“Great food. Good selection in the menu. Service was great, Becca went over and above what we expected. Would definitely recommend and we will be back next time we are in Sarnia.”

“Junior Baker made my husband’s 30th birthday cake. It was a hockey/Toronto Maple Leaf theme and they created a cake that looked like an ice rink with 3D nets and a detailed Toronto Maple Leaf logo in the middle - truly incredible. The cake was delicious. It was a vanilla cake with a custard filling. We were so impressed. I highly recommend this bakery! We will definitely order more desserts in the future.”

“We frequent there quite often and the food, atmosphere and staff are great. Today wasn't one of your stellar moments. There was a number of items on the menu that wasn't available, and they closed the doors at 6pm because they were out of certain food and equipment failure. People enjoy going there. You need to get your act together or you're going to end up closing the doors.”

“Community Spotlight: Tang’s China House. A Sarnia Gem Reclaimed At Brownstones, we believe in celebrating the people who pour their hearts into this industry and few do it with more passion than Lillian Tang, the proud owner of Tang’s China House. Recently, Lillian made the bold and heartfelt move to buy back the very restaurant her parents built from scratch, continuing a legacy that helped shape downtown Sarnia’s food scene. From the moment you step inside, you feel it this isn’t just a restaurant, it’s a transportive experience. The rich aromas, the authentic decor, the warm hospitality it all speaks to something rare: a place where tradition meets hustle, and excellence is served on every plate. Lillian doesn’t just understand the grind she lives it. Always present, always smiling, always raising the bar. Her leadership and energy radiate through her team and her food. The result? A menu that’s top notch, a space that’s vibrant, and a clientele that keeps coming back because they know it’s the real deal. If you haven’t been to Tang’s recently, you’re missing out on one of Sarnia’s most iconic culinary experiences. This isn’t corporate dining this is homegrown excellence, led by someone who embodies everything that makes local ownership matter. Hats off to Lillian and her incredible team. From one independent powerhouse to another, we see you, we respect you and we encourage everyone to support Tang’s China House, where the flavour is fierce and the legacy is alive.”
“Surprisingly good pizza. Service was excellent. Will order fro Napoli Pizza again!”
“being the only bar with decent pool tables open till 2am. you can always get yer game on either by shooting pool or just watching a game on one of the 8 big screens. or rock out to your favorite hits on the most played juke box in town. or just join the others that come in just to see the cute bartenders or the one ugly one. whatever your pleasure be, you'll find it here! Gotta check it out if you haven't yet. it all happens at the "zoo"”

“I love Soups Up! It has the most delicious selection of soups, sandwiches, baked goods and more, and the staff is always so friendly and kind, even when they’re super busy. The other day I arrived to get my take out order, and had my tiny infant in a car seat with me. One of the staff members insisted on carrying my order out to my car for me, so I could manage without dropping anything, and the gesture was so appreciated. I come here often and will continue to do so :)”
“We ordered the Banana bread waffles for dessert, and the server came to us and apologized that it would take a few more minutes because the chef ran across the street to get fresh bananas for the garnish and topping! It was well worth the wait and this is why I love bringing my family here! THE best halibut in the world!!!”
“Friendly staff. Very unique menu. Delicious food. Good music and atmosphere. Comfortable seating. Good cocktails. It was hard to choose because the menu is so well done and full of unique options.”
“Unique review as a compliment to the chefs. This was our favorite Indian food that weve ever eaten. We recently moved to New Brunswick ~2 years ago and we've been craving spice n ice for ages. Family came to visit via trailer and we asked them to pick up palak chicken, 4 orders of it and freeze it and bring it to us. So we just sat down to eat Spice n Ice about an hour away from Fredericton NB. I wonder if spice n ice has ever been enjoyed any farther away than ours. This is our new tradition, any visiting family shall buy passage with spice n ice 🤣”

“Friendly and kind staff. Fresh ingredients and homemade dough. Not the frozen factory style crusts. The atmosphere is like going home to your mom's kitchen. The staff encourages you and has more heart towards their customers. Support your ma and pa shops. I would recommend this establishment 10/10.”
“As one who has severe allergies(wheat and turkey), I HIGHLY recommend Pita Pit. I have been twice now since hearing of their gluten free pita and both times have been phenomenal. The first time the man who did up my order changed his gloves three times to lower the cross-contact for wheat. Second time the woman who did my meal up kept track of what she was doing and was making sure she didn't touch anything else while making my pita, but also used paper towel to hold the sauce bottles! Never before have I been to a place that is well educated on allergies and takes them very seriously. They are #1 place in my book now!!”
“We ordered kizhi beef porotta, kizhi beef biriyani, kappa biriyani and fish nirvana for lunch. Everything was yum, no words to describe. Would highly recommend this place. Also we had egg puffs which was chood chood n crunchy.
Only drawback which we faced was finding the door, which is a small one, got confused.
It is just opposite malabari bistro”
“This Arby's is always spotlessly clean.
Ordered 2 med beef n cheddar but pretty sure we got regular as we always get the same thing. Was a line up or would have questioned it. A bit pricey for what we got supposedly 2 med beef n cheddar 2 curly fries and 2 drinks. $28 give or take.”
“thanks for another great lunch cheeseburger poutine and my brother ate buffalo chicjen sandwhich. emmm mmm good”
“We love freshii and as a family eat there on weekends frequently. Our one complaint is they do not have a change table in the washroom. They offer free meals to kids on weekends and cater to families but have no way to change your baby or toddlers diaper. I have brought it up to staff 4 times now over a year but no change table has been installed.”
“Went here as part of a business dinner. And wow oh wow, was so impressed with the selection of food, the execution and the quality! We had the calamari, baked Brie, lamb lollipops and coconut shrimp and then various entrees. Lola’s was such a great experience that non-locals got to experience as it was so highly recommended by locals. Would definitely love to come back and try all the food menu items.”
“From Brownstones: A Salute to Cravin’s A True Sarnia Icon In the ever-changing world of hospitality, very few restaurants not only endure but evolve and Cravin’s has done exactly that. A cornerstone in Sarnia’s dining scene, Cravin’s has consistently demonstrated what it means to deliver excellence, whether through the inviting charm of its dining room, the creative expansion into C Lounge, or the professionalism of its Catering arm. This kind of longevity and growth doesn't happen by accident. It’s a direct reflection of the vision, leadership, and tireless work ethic of one of our city’s finest restaurateurs Helen. Her ability to adapt while staying true to the heart of her brand has earned Cravin’s a well-deserved reputation as a local favourite. At Brownstones, we respect the grind, and we admire those who continue to elevate our industry. Cravin’s may be modest in size, but it’s mighty in reputation proof that consistency, care, and community connection still matter. If you live in Sarnia, you’ve heard of Cravin’s. And if you haven’t been lately, go remind yourself what made it a local legend. With respect, from all of us at Brownstones Sports Lounge & Restaurant”

“Old time feel to this restaurant with wonderful breakfast food and coffee. I believe this was the best breakfast meal I have had anywhere other than at home. Service was fast and friendly. The selections available included standard breakfast fare along with some unusual ones. I highly recommend a visit”

“Ok, this place is great - more specifically, there is one staffer who has waited on us a couple times now, her name is Lita. She is such a great asset to this place and is so fun to interact with. My partner and I recently started visiting this location after trying 3 other locations with very dissatisfactory service, we started to think that it was just this chain (Crabby Joe's) that was the problem, NOPE, definitely not, because this place is great! We live just over an hour away, but have a huge obsession with the SPIN dip. Even better is the half price apps so we usually get lots! We now find ourselves here a couple times a month despite the drive because it gets us a night out, we get great service and the price is right! Thanks Lita for making this location a shining star among the others.
Note: None of the other dissatisfactory locations we visited were in London, this DUNDAS location is just the location we tried and it did not disappoint!”
“Dave and I ate at Crabby Joe’s this evening. Dave had a BLT and fries and I had the ribs fries and had ordered a side Caesar salad. There was a misunderstanding about the menu and this was clarified by Emma. Later, there was an error made regarding the agreed-upon choices and Emma. Was proactive in correcting the problem satisfactory demonstrating good business practice.
We encountered more than one assistant or server, but it was Emma with whom we had the most contact. Emma was pleasant, engaging, personable, sensible, knowledgeable, professional, and a good problem solver.
Oh ya… And the food was excellent :-)”
