“I remember when this bar was being built in the early 90s. Needless to say, I've been there many times in the past. I've always liked it and it's my 2nd most favourite bar in the city (next to Top Hat) because I like to play pool when I drink. I find as soon as you show signs of impairment they cut you off. Which is the right move. I'll give it 5 stars.“
“Came in to watch some hockey and NFL. Bartender/Waitress/Manager was on her own up front and was able to take care of everyone. She was very friendly, always smiling and attentive.I did not have food. But for a VERY casual, low key bar, where the locals go, this is it.A great local “dive” bar. Would come back for sure.“
“There's a good chance if you you're not at the rink for some sort of hockey related event you likely haven't eaten here. I know that was the case for me up until about a year ago. Their pizza is average and I don't mean anything bad by that, but the real gem is their wings. When it comes to Sault wings they're coming in pretty close to the top of the food chain here. The hot mustard dill is an interesting sauce that's worth try, but heads up their "hot" wing sauce is more like a introductory medium. Plenty of brews on tap to keep you hydrated while eating those wings as well.“

“My Dad and I went to play some pool at Top Hat Billiards one Saturday afternoon, but arrived a little early; we inadvertently followed the cleaning guy in to the place. Even though the place had not opened yet, the owner allowed us old guys to shoot a couple of games anyway. Could have easily said no, but didn’t. Great customer service and all around nice guy. “This place kind of looks like a dump, but the food is excellent and that’s why they’re busy, even though it’s located on Sugar Island; which isn’t very populated. Recommend the burgers. The service is pleasant, but slow. They used to have a view of the Soo, being on the hilltop, but property owners nearby, let all the trees grow and the view is no longer. Friday and Saturday nights are packed. Check out this gem.“
“Fantastic local dive bar with a newly refinished pool table. The bartender was fantastic, The jukebox is great, and most importantly the drinks are cheap! There is free popcorn also. The locals are friendly.Kid-friendliness: Not a place for kids, they’d ruin the vibe“
“The Alpha Bar is next door to Zorba’s Greek American Restaurant, so the owner has a doorway between his two establishments. You can order from Zorbas menu and have it served at the bar. We ordered tyropita to accompany our cocktails. An excellent choice! Our bartender was congenial, the atmosphere was pleasant, and we enjoyed stopping in for a nightcap.“
“Some friends and I came into Austin's very late last weekend and the Dominick the bartender was very knowledgeable with cigars and whiskeys. We may have outstayed our welcome, but Dominick was VERY accommodating and friendly. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone. Especially if you're looking for a place to settle down with some friends to play cards while enjoying fine whiskeys and equally enjoyable cigars.“

“Best burger in town and their cheese curds are incredible too. The dinner for 2 option is great for takeout. There isn't something on the menu that I haven't liked. Burger Don has been my burger spot for years and they never disappoint!“
