“If you are looking for a nice country drive and love cheese, I highly recommend making the trip out to St-Albert cheese factory. I enjoyed checking out the gift shop/grocery store on site. They had so many cool bbq sauces, dressings, spices and pickles. I scored a jar of Putters pickles. They are amazing deli style pickles that are so hard to find in Ottawa stores. Of course I had to pick up cheese, and lots of it!They also had a intriguing selection of candy in the shop, but I got sucked into the candy surprise bags that were by the cash. They were $2.25 for a small bag, or $3.99 for a large bag. The small bags were stuffed with a small thing of jujubes and a lollipop. Total bust.Next up to the cafeteria, where the hubby and I shared a family size poutine with extra curds on top. The gravy is amazing and on point. Ended things with a scoop of Kawarthas ice cream.Totally missed the stairs to get up to the second floor to view the production area. I totally see myself coming back.”
