“Picked up a chicken shawarma plate prior to boarding the viarail train and it was the right choice! The shawarma plate was packed with flavour and has generous portion sizes. The salad is super fresh and pairs well with the entire meal. The chicken was still juicy by the time I ate my meal on the train. The rice was seasoned nicely too. The owners of the restaurant are so kind. Highly recommend!!“

“It's been called SAWA SHAWARMA & GRILL since the ownership changed in 2024 and the food has only gotten better. Windsor has lots of good shawarma, and this is some of the best in the city. The potatoes have a lot of spices. If you want less spice, then get the rice.“

After waiting and watching others, who arrived after us, get their food, ours was finally found in a take out bag.

“This is BY FAR one of the best restaurants in Windsor. Absolutely blown away when we recently got take out from here, just outstanding. Everything is homemade , very large portions. Had the spinach pie ( probably the best I have had in my lifetime) and the Shawarma beef and chicken plate . Just so flavourful and unique! Their pita bread is all homemade as well and it’s unbelievable. I literally called them after our meal to rave ! Will eat here again many times to come.“

“So disappointing. Yearssssss ago, this place used to be my go to for Mediterranean dishes. After 2020, this place has consistently gone down hill. At first it was "hit or miss" but its all "miss". So much so that I went to be bed hungry vs eating my carry out. It's so unfortunate because they used to be so good. Yesterday was my last try, I bow out.“

“Recently got a carry out from the Clinton Township location I ordered a bowl. It was very salty which I can only attribute to the rice since it’s chicken based the rest was grilled pork and fresh vegetables. I gave up half way thru just couldn’t handle the salty taste. Maybe they should sample it before serving?“

“Now this place is amazing. It has everything you want. The food is fantastic. Lots to pick from and the guys behind the counter are not your typical store food chefs. They are making art with food. Your mouth will know the difference. Plus they have a full store of goods and drinks. It's a one stop shop for basically anything you need. The staff is very cool. One guy reminds me of Sal for Deadwood. It's fun just to visit. They also deliver if you don't want to go there. Reminds me of some southern cooking. One guybhas 25 yrs in the place cooking and creates some amazing dishes like chicken alfredo stuff potatoes. Or Lamb chops. Wingdigs are out of this world. Full kitchen with lots of choices.“

“We were walking and stopped in for first time . Excellent all around. The lamb shawarma was one of the best I have had out side east Desrborn, I can say that because I lived in that area for over 30 years . Clean , fast friendly . Staff , Top Shelf. Will be a regular stop on our walks. Thank you !“
