Gyugyuya (Downtown Toronto) Reviews
This restaurant does not allow service dogs. This is against the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act. We were told they "do not allow dogs at all". That is against the law... You must allow service dogs. We'll take our business elsewhere.
The food is good. This place is always packed. I saw there wasnt the usual waiting line so i went in. I still had to stand and wait. Everything comes with curry except for 2 bowls. Im not a big curry fan so i got the beef bowl and chicken bowl I recommend eat it hot. I really liked the chicken bowl. The miso soup was ok.
Yummy food is yum. It's not a good idea to come here with a big group though!

Gyugyuya in Downtown Toronto is known for its delicious curry dishes, especially the don and katsu curry. The portions are large and satisfying, with prices around $15 to $20, making it a good value. The menu includes vegetarian options, and customers often enjoy dishes like Ika Curry with crispy squid rings, deep-fried pork cutlet that crunches, and tender fried mackerel served with tangy tartar sauce. The servings are generous, and the staff is friendly and attentive, creating a pleasant dining atmosphere. The restaurant is quite busy during weekday lunch hours, mostly with students, and has decent seating. Many visitors recommend splitting the Gyu King Curry platter, which includes pork, chicken, sausage, and shrimp all in one. The space has been updated with a more modern, minimalist look since their renovation, and the curry itself is a little sweeter and heavier than before, but still delicious and worth visiting. It is a great spot for a filling meal after a day of shopping or exploring downtown Toronto.
