A really neat little restaurant in the food court across from OCAD and right around the corner from the AGO. It’s sort of set up like a small izakaya with a tight, lean menu of Japanese comfort favourites for a pretty fair price. I ordered curry udon, Takoyaki, and a cola, and it ran less than $20. The speed with which the food came out was astonishing. I’d recommend this place for a light lunch or maybe a low-key date.
Takoyaki and udon are sooo good
This restaurant holds a special place in my heart for getting me through my broke student days. Finding prices from a decade ago in today’s economy is practically unheard of, which totally explains why they're always so packed.
The ramen and the tofu croquet is one of my favorite

Manpuku Modern Japanese Eatery offers tasty Japanese dishes at reasonable prices. The restaurant serves popular items like yakionigiri, takoyaki, curry don, and niku udon, with generous portions and flavorful sauces. While the takoyaki can sometimes disappoint, the overall quality and affordability make it a worthwhile visit, especially when it's busy. The cozy, intimate atmosphere features nice decor, and the friendly, efficient staff bring out food quickly. Though it can be a bit noisy, customers find the place a good choice for authentic Japanese homestyle food. The menu features large portions, with favorites like beef curry donburi, Negitama Gyudon, and kitsune udon, many under $10 for great value. Customers can enjoy table service inside or opt for takeout from the food court. Despite occasional wait times, the fast service and delicious food keep it a popular spot for locals.
