Afghan Restaurants near Whitby, ON

“After a third time getting a lunch here, I must say I am impressed! It's authentic, it tastes absolutely delicious. All three times our lunch was spot on! From the lentil soup to the naan, kebabs and rice, its all really tasty. Staff were friendly and accommodating, place looks clean and smelled like fresh bread baking. Will definitely come back!“

“The food and service here is genuinely amazing. I have been catering all my family/friend parties with this restaurant for over 8 yrs and each time they amaze me. Food is always so fresh and tasty. Food is provided hot and with care. The owner also helps with taking the trays I to my car and the packaging of food is secure to ensure no spills. Quality is perfect.

I have referred my friends and family who have equally been impressed with their food and service. I always feel so welcomed with warm greetings from the owners and staff. I trust them fully with all my events.“

“This restaurant has incredible food. So much flavour and perfectly cooked. We had everything from the tandoori chicken, yellow chicken, kabab & rice. Highly recommend this restaurant. Will definitely be back.“

“The food was amazing. Bowl was huge. The service was exceptional. Very nice and polite. Cold, bottled water is also free of charge. The atmosphere is nice and modern. Music in the background but not too loud. I would come here more often if I didnt live so far.“

“Ordered delivery last night. First time eating from here. It was amazing! My kids loved it and we will definitely order again. Lots of food and everything was so good.“

“Very satisfying. Meat was perfectly cooked. Ordered combo 3 - asked for 2 chicken tikka instead of 1 chicken and 1 beef. Also ordered combo 6 - lamb and chicken tandoori tikka.
Good sized portions. I like the good sized salad that comes with pickled veg and a creamy dressing. Fed 2 adults and 2 kids plus we brought home the leftover rice and naan. Order, pay and grab a seat. There are large glass bottles of cold water in the fridge that you can enjoy when you sit in.“

“I visited Helmand Kabab yesterday around 3:00 PM, and I had a great experience. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the naan—it was fresh, soft, and one of the best I’ve had.

I also want to recognize the young lady who was working at that time. She provided outstanding customer service, was very friendly, welcoming, and made us feel comfortable throughout our visit.

Great food, excellent service, and a wonderful experience overall. I will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended!“

“Good food 🥘 and I would come back with family again.“

“We had a wonderful celebratory luncheon today at Bamiyan. "Wonderful" all thanks to Carolina who treated us like we were sitting at her dining room table. She went out of her way to make that occasion memorable. Thank you SO much, Carolina (sp?).“

“I recently visited Kandahar Kabab in Pickering, drawn by its reputation for flavorful Afghan cuisine. The menu offers a wide variety of grilled meats, rice platters, and traditional sides, with standout items like the Chicken Tikka Kebab, Chapli Kabab, and Lamb Shank. The portions were generous, and the meat was well-seasoned and cooked to perfection. The Mango Lassi was a refreshing complement to the meal. However, the experience was a bit inconsistent. While some staff were friendly and attentive, others seemed overwhelmed, especially during busy hours. Wait times for food can be long—even when the restaurant isn’t crowded. Huma was the best! always smiling and ready to serve customers. The ambiance is casual, leaning more toward a takeout vibe than a dine-in destination. Prices are on the higher side for the portion sizes, but the flavor and authenticity of the dishes can make it worthwhile“
