“Picked up the family style chicken, kabob, rice, french fries and naam (and pops) this week. I am usually not a huge fan of spicy/ethnic type foods, so when my family demanded something different this week, Maimana has become our go to pickup dinner location. If a guy like me enjoys their food, you know it is good. p.s. the kabob was a tiny bit spicy (for me), but it was definitely within my tolerance range. My kids think I am a spice wimp, so this choice was very good for me.“
“Clean and delicious offerings for meat eaters. Great service and takeout. Try the mixed grill (Chicken breast + Minced beef skewers) with Salad, Naan and rice.Hoping to see Keto-friendly offerings (just meat and salad, no rice or Naan).Dietary restrictions: Rice & Naan with almost all kabab meals might be too much for people with diabetes.“
“This Afghan restaurant is a true gem! The flavors are rich and aromatic, offering a delightful journey through Afghan cuisine. From tender kebabs to fragrant rice dishes, each bite is a testament to the culinary mastery of the chefs. The hospitality is warm and inviting, making every visit a memorable experience. Don't miss out on this delightful tandoori chicken!!“
“We went to Helmand for iftar and we loved the food. It tasted fresh, delicious and served timely. The owner went above and beyond and gave us complementary dates and bolani to break our fast. The naans were super soft. The place is not expensive and the bill for all food was under $60.Helmand Kabob is definately serving the best Afghan food in Durham. Highly recommended!!!“
“I heave gone here quite a bit for the tandoori chicken bowl on the way home usually for school. I saw they had the Ramadan special available and I decided to try it.Inside was a huge tray of rice, sauce, hot sauce, fries and salad. Honestly for the price, it was very good and could easily feed 4-5 people. My only complaint I have noticed, amongst others, and even every time I come here, the chicken is usually pretty dry. The fries were also a bit dried out, but everything else was okay. For affordability and okay food, I recommend it.Dietary restrictions: Halal“
“This is a great place to pickup. Love their food and their friendliness at the front. On all times I've been here they have been pleasant, sure it's their job but I had seen comments they weren't so figured id mention. The other day I came by to pickup food while getting over being sick and no clue if it was because I sounded terrible but they gave me some soup with my meal which was actually delicious. Definitely something I pickup from there. I always try to go in or order direct as no need to give Uber or skip a cut of the money. Chicken, salad, all the kabobs I've had are delicious; rice is good and their two sauces they give are both flavourful and with a zip of heat. Their bread is more on the thinner side of ones I've had but it creates a different texture I love.“
“When this place opened it was so so good and very busy, with slow service compared to their other locations. The service is still so-so, and not that fast but the food is very fresh and tasty now, and has improved to be better than the Markham location in my opinion.“
“Hands down the best naan and kabob spot in town! I come here at least once a week and I never get sick of the food. It’s takeout but it feels like an homemade meal. Every dish bursts with authentic flavours, and the portions are generous. The naan is always fresh and fluffy, and the kabobs are grilled to perfection. Service is top-notch, with friendly staff who make you feel right at home. Elias Naan and Kabob never disappoints!“
