“Friendly, local, tasty breakfast. Best breakfast on the Bay! Cinnamon roll is fantastic. Breakfast sandwich is a good choice for a somewhat smaller breakfast. Omelets and pancakes and everything else we've tried in multiple visits are delicious.“

There was no cell signal but the Wi-Fi worked fine to make calls and connect to my computer. The views from my room were amazing! The cafe across the street also highly recommended. “My friend and I stopped at the Blue Agate Cafe looking for food and a bathroom and a place to sit. We visited during Phase 1 of re-opening from Covid19. We were hungry and grubby and not from the area. But, we were met with eyes smiling from behind a mask and immediately felt at ease. After our order was placed, I asked about using the restroom facilities. I was met at the back door with a squirt of hand sanitizer so, mask on, I took care of my needs and washed with soap and running water, for 20 seconds, twice. We were offered outdoor seating in a pretty little back courtyard sheltered from the wind and full of blooming flowers. The food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the house made veggie burger and, as a connoisseur of veggie burgers, this was easily one of the best I have ever had. The service was friendly and just made me feel easy and welcome. Lunch yesterday was a delightful culinary and social experience. I highly recommend this small eatery to anybody wishing to be treated as family in all the best ways. Thank you.“

From the moment I walked in, bartender Greg made me feel like a regular! He greeted all the customers by name, and it was obvious this isn’t just a bar—it’s a place where people genuinely know and care about each other. That kind of atmosphere can’t be manufactured!

The food I see coming out of the kitchen was exceptional. Every dish was personally brought out by the chef! I don’t know if this was because it was mid day or if it’s the standard practice but was such a great touch!

The crab cakes deserve special recognition…They weren’t packed with breadcrumbs like so many others. Instead, they were made with fresh crab and finely ground seafood used as the binder, letting the seafood be the star. Without question, they were the best crab cakes I’ve ever eaten.

The warm live wood, resin coated bar top, pristine cleanliness, the friendly locals, the outstanding service, and the incredible food all come together to create one of those rare places that feels authentic the moment you walk through the door.

“The Chinese Garden Restaurant has new owners and it is even better than it was before. Everything is cooked fresh, and large portions, and high quality. It is also very reasonably priced for all the food you get and the nice environment. We love the hot and sour soup that comes free with an entree and the chicken lettuce wraps have fantastic flavor. The place is clean and always welcoming.“

“What a beautiful space! The ambience is on point, and they handled our large group easily!

Our food was exceptional. The crab macaroni and cheese was superb! The fish and chips also really good. My group didn’t like the clam chowder, though.

Emma was our server, and she was friendly and efficient. She was also full of grace when I made a huge mistake. I had been sick for five weeks, and my brain wasn’t working right! Everything was resolved quickly and easily. She even offered me a hug (I was so embarrassed and was crying for the stress I had caused her.).

Other than my confusion/mistake, the dinner with my family of 12 was the best of our trip to the coast!!!!

“It was next to our hotel so we gave it a try, and we were not disappointed! I had the chicken and chips and they weren't strips or nuggets. These were breast halves in a killer batter and deep fried. The fries were seasoned and hot. She had a shrimp basket and said it was great as well. It was close to closing, but they made us a pot of coffee anyway. The restaurant was closed, so we ate in the lounge (bar) and it was fine.“
