The weather was perfect for us to enjoy tasting wine on the deck in the sunshine and with beautiful views of the winery and surrounding mountains. Our host Joseph was very knowledgeable about each wine presented, and answered all of our questions with ease. To top off the experience, we purchased an additional bottle of wine to enjoy with our picnic lunch in the grove at the winery. If you are planning a trip to Willamette Valley wine tasting, this is a place that represents superb Oregon wines (12 single vineyards Pinot's, as well as great Sauvignon Blanc and Rose) and should be on everyone's list!“

The wine quality is exceptional, the views are absolutely beautiful, and the team is always so warm, friendly, and welcoming. What really stands out to us, though, is how authentic the experience feels. It’s clear that they genuinely care about producing great wine and creating a memorable experience for every guest.

“We were visiting from Va and meeting a college friend. This is her favorite winery. It’s off the beaten path but IT IS SO WORTH THE TRIP!!! It’s beautiful, wines are great and Nick our server was amazing!!! When we showed up they had no power but no worries! Nick had it under control! We weren’t sure what we wanted and he was very kind in helping us decide with a few tastes before committing to the 100% Cabernet for me and Reserve Pinot for my friend and my husband. Both wines were great!!!!. I also tasted the sparklings. Love the Sparkling Rose and the Blanc de Blanc. Of course we had to have pictures and Nick was very patient. I was thinking about joining and Nick was great to help me pick the plan best for what I liked.
The Owner is an artist and he picks one of his paintings for the labels of the bottles. Beautiful work.

“Had a great experience this past Tuesday while out in the valley for a Wine & Spirits conference. As retailers who already carry a broad array of Lemelson wine, we already new the quality level of what was in the bottle, but the depth of knowledge the duo of Josie & Devin provided, it really created a total experience. There’s nothing that beats tasting Stermer Vineyard Pinot Noir while standing in Stermer Vineyard.

I do not understand the current trend of wineries inviting mexican food carts to wine tasting events. The food style tends to mess up ones palete. Beer or soda go great with Mexican food. Or possibly a huge red, but not the refined Pinot Noir and whites of the Willamette Valley.“

“This place was absolutely wonderful! The vibes were amazing from the moment we arrived. As someone who’s sober, I really appreciated that they offered a delicious non-alcoholic blueberry lemon spritzer and it was so refreshing!

The live music created the perfect atmosphere, and the R & R food truck did not disappoint. I had the Impossible Smash Burger, and I’ll definitely be ordering that again.

There are plenty of games to keep both kids and grown-up kids entertained, plus the views are absolutely gorgeous. The bathrooms were clean, parking was easy, and the scenic drive out was worth every minute.

“What a cute place! The tastijg room was not prepared to receive a large party although reservations were made in advance but the market place was cute and cozy. Durant is a national brand and we were able to sample various oils and spices.

The tiny concord grapes I purchased were sweet and packed with flavor. The grounds were pretty with plants, wines and gnomes available for purchase.

They bake bread and baguettes onsite and the smell will have you pulling out your money to purchase.

Be careful- i purchased some Black Garlic Sea Salt to take home and it triggered a long delay at the airport and they tested it for drugs. I was finally able to get to security but barely made my flight😉.

Outside seating was beautiful, quaint and cozy. It is worth a visit. The skyline including the view of the mountains was worth the trip!“

“Cellar Door Wine Tours took us to Tendril Wine Cellars first on our 3-winery tour and warned us we'd like it best. We truly did. Each wine was delicious. I'm an Oregon pinot noir fan and they make great ones, but also loved their white pinot noir and rose. Tasting manager Andrew was delightful and kept us both informed and laughing! The tasting room is very small, but they also have outside picnic tables for warmer months. Make an appointment and enjoy! I signed up for the wine club as I enjoyed every sip.“

“Great downtown tasting room with beautiful outdoor and indoor tasting areas. We enjoyed our tasting at Ken Wright Cellars which is located at the old train depot in Carlton. Wines are very nice and our wine educator was excellent. The location draws a lot of walk-ins but we never felt crowded or neglected. Each tasting is waived with a $100 purchase. We enjoyed the wine and therefore purchased $200+ to have the fees waived. The owner and winemaker Ken Wright has years of experience in the industry. He buys excellent fruit and in turn produces excellent wine. Definitely worth a visit when in Carlton or nearby.“

“My husband introduced me to Torii Mor during my first ever wine tasting experience back in 2008. Since then, we've come on and off for the last 18 years (with some time off during our early parenting years, as well as during the height of the pandemic). We now try to visit about once-a-quarter. The thing I love most about the winery is that it's the kind of place you can go to sip a glass of wine, or do a tasting, in relative peace and quiet - this is not a place where the influencer crowd visits. I don't drink often, but when I do, I prefer a glass of Torii Mor. Over the decades they've managed to create consistently good wines across all their varieties (special mention to their Old Vine Chardonnay... there's something magical about it, as it's the only Chardonnay I like).

You can't beat the views, either: whether it's sitting out on the back deck and looking out at the Willamette Valley during sunny days, watching the foliage change and fall during the autumn, or cozying up in their indoor tasting room during the rainy season, the location high up in the hills offers something year-round. The mood, ambiance, and wine all make for an experience where you can get clarity to a question that's been on your mind, or have a good conversation (philosophical or otherwise) with a friend or loved one. “Berts chuckwagon is some of the better barbecue we have around here. Trouble is in the northwest we just don’t have a lot of barbecue. I feel like the sides are what really shine. His ribs are good. They do it smoked style but they are pretty tough and dry and that’s what happens when you smoke ribs. Mine are like 10 times better in the oven and so juicy they fall off the bone. He’s a nice guy and the prices are moderate for what they offer portions are pretty generous. I’ve eaten here multiple times when I didn’t feel like cooking. Will probably come back again. But I do prefer to make my own barbecue over berts.“

“I moved to Mcminnville in January of 2025. I began frequenting the Dutch Bros 100 yards from my driveway!😁 The morning staff is without a doubt the most kind, caring, friendly, fun staff there is. I began to have a bunch of health issues and couldn't visit for a couple months. The warm welcome back was just what I needed. Your staff has laughed with me, listened to my troubles, comforted me after learning of the loss of my 15 yo granddaughter, and celebrated with me as if they were my family! Bravo! “We rode our bikes up the hill to Youngberg and were met with the most lovely service there. The lady with the short blonde hair and tattoos (can’t remember her name) was so nice and accommodating. She provided us immediately with tall glasses of water and gave us time to cool down before recommending some fantastic wine. She also allowed us to enjoy the breathtaking views and offered to take pictures of us. I’m not sure if we’d recommend taking your bikes all the way up the hill for everyone, but it is well worth a stop no matter how you get there - for the views, the wine and especially the service.“

“Must start with full disclosure--my wife, Sunshine and I have never been there--BUT, having just completed an AMA waterways wine cruise in France we met wonderful people from Stoller, including Gary Mortensen who presented wine tasting of their excellent wines and enthusiastic, humorous lectures. We sampled many great French wines on this cruise, but none topped the Stoller chardonnays we tasted. The Stoller Family Estate is definitely on our "bucket list". We also met Bill Stoller's lovely sister, Nancy. We tasted a wine Bill named after her and it was to die for! Thanks Stoller for sending your lively group on our cruise. I'm sure when we finally visit, you'll earn this five star rating! Say hi to Gary and Nancy for us.“

“Celebrated 'moving to McMinnville day' with three other adults. One of us had this establishment recommended to him .. the recommendation was spot on. Grain Station is conveniently located in McMinnville, (but honestly, I have yet to find a place that's not cunveniently located in McMinnville.). We had plenty of parking to choose from. The facilities are very attractive with lots of light and tastefully warm colors and decor that puts you at ease the moment you walk in. We were greeted promptly and warmly by the staff and seated instantly in a booth with anchored benches. Our seats rocked back and forth a bit, like a swing chair. It wasn't bad but I wasn't sure if that was by design or an actual malfunction
The menu was extensive and very well presented and featured a cowboy / western flair with lots of options from salads, to a variety of appetizing sandwiches, burgers, pizzas, meatloaf, steak, fish and chips, and even steak. The sides are appropriate and numerous.
The food was very tasty. I had the cowboy brisket sandwich and it was delicious, though a touch on the fatty side. Others had maple bacon burger and waxed poetic about it. A grilled herb chicken and meatloaf with gravy rounded out a very nice dinner. Service was prompt, consciousness, and spot on. Only reason I didn't give it five stars was that the portions were a touch on the tiny side.
Overall, highly recommend Grain Station Brew Works.
