“Had an awesome tasting at Evening Land. The property is absolutely beautiful and has some of the best views we saw in the Willamette Valley. We ended up spending way more time there than we planned because the atmosphere was so relaxing and welcoming.

What really stood out was the hospitality. Everyone was friendly, down to earth, and genuinely excited to talk about the wines without making the experience feel intimidating or overly formal. We learned a lot, had some great conversations, and never felt rushed.

The wines were fantastic across the board, especially the Pinot Noirs. You can tell there’s a lot of attention to detail in both the winemaking and the overall experience.

If you’re visiting Willamette Valley, Evening Land is absolutely worth a stop. Great wine, beautiful setting, and some of the best hospitality we experienced all weekend.“

“This is a hidden gem! Tucked in the hills, the tasting room has a beautiful view of the vineyard and forest. There are wild turkeys nearby adding to the charm. The wines are named after Persian historical figures and the staff share the unique stories and connections to the Persian winery owners. We had a lovely visit and the wines are all great!“

“This place is a treasure! It’s a true American story. Excellent wine. Independent, family-owned, built from the ground up by the fruits of the family’s labor, without the benefits (or restrictions) of wealthy backing. We were treated to a tasting of amazing Pinot Noirs, a white Pinot Noir/Pinot Gris blend, a Riesling, and an outstanding Tempranillo/Pinot blend under the shade of a beautifully appointed canvas tent amid the rows of vines, cooled by refreshing breeze on a warm day as the sounds of relaxing and diverse Latino music played in the background. The authenticity of the place cannot be understated. Elena‘s connection to the land and to the entire process made for an intimate experience. The tribute to her family’s Mexican roots made for a singular experience among wineries not just in the Willamette Valley, but anywhere. Our tasting felt like a true privilege. We leave here proud members, and look forward to coming back again and again.“

Chicken kebab, Moroccan mint tea, Mezza sampler and the chicory salad all have high quality ingredients. The value of that for me is why I can enjoy dining out these days. Not just a menu of burgers and fries or tacos that are easy to make at home. I will keep Cypress on my top list of local restaurants worth returning too! “I always want my reviews be helpful and factual so I’ll say bottom line, we loved our stay and would recommend it. However, there are so key details that I felt important to share. For some, these things might matter and some it might not. To us, they did. PROS: The water. I travel a lot and hoard waters on my trip so I was shocked when they said they don’t have bottles on site. But that’s OK! The water is delicious straight from the tap, extensively filtered and truly does taste like bottled water. The views. The views are spectacular and were part of the reason we chose to stay here. The shower in our suite. The two shower heads, the water temp, pressure, tiles, stone, large bathroom, etc. It’s quiet. Very quiet! Almost too quiet for me though but if you’re looking to disconnect, this is the place. No TV in the suite. I actually loved this part but my husband not so much. Also added to how quiet it is. They’re very attentive making sure you get in OK, particularly because we arrived after hours. Their tasting is definitely worth incorporating into your stay. The wine is great and we had the opportunity to sit and chat with the owner and that was a really nice experience! CONS: Coffee. They provide you a serving of coffee prepped the night before. I’m used to unlimited when staying in hotels but they were pleased to provide extra. Breakfast pastries. They do not have a kitchen onsite, also surprising and not clear when booking. Luckily, not a big deal for us because they have great recommendations that are 10mins away so we got to try some cute local spots! Otherwise, stock up on leftovers or snacks throughout your stay because there’s not much else out there. That’s also how we got the incredible views but no concierge or front desk 24/7. Their hours are 10-4 and they do have a phone number to reach them but something important to know ahead of time. Again, would recommend! These were simply things that were important to us, but might not be for others. 🍷“

I began to have a bunch of health issues and couldn't visit for a couple months. The warm welcome back was just what I needed. Your staff has laughed with me, listened to my troubles, comforted me after learning of the loss of my 15 yo granddaughter, and celebrated with me as if they were my family! Bravo! “This is country French cuisine. Plentiful and delicious. They take the comfort food preparation very seriously but true to Oregon, you can show in your Sunday best or jeans and feel comfortable. We celebrate We drive from Hillsboro a few times a year. The staff always warm and friendly. Just go, and make it a special drive date.“

“We were a group of five people and were seated in the back area of the restaurant. My view was of a stack of boxes of storage items that they keep behind the wall behind the front desk. The food was good and was served quickly. It was a little lacking in flavor. It's typical Chinese fare. I took home half of it for another meal the next day.“

It would have been nice to have a table in the room or an extra shelf in the bathroom.

“Hit the McMenamins Pub, McMinnville, Oregon on a recent visit and had a Capt. Neon Burger with tots and a Dirty Shirley.

The Capt. Neon Burger shows up looking unapologetically hearty. A soft, lightly toasted bun cradles a thick, juicy beef patty cooked to a satisfying char on the outside while staying tender inside. Crisp lettuce and fresh red onion add crunch and bite, while the bacon brings smoky richness that anchors the whole stack. It’s a straightforward burger done confidently...no gimmicks, just solid execution. The toothpick through the top is a small detail, but it reinforces that classic pub-burger presentation.

The tater tots on the side are exactly what you want them to be: golden, crunchy on the outside, fluffy inside, and clearly fried with care. Dunked into the generous pool of ketchup, they’re nostalgic in the best way

The Dirty Shirley is pure throwback fun with a grown-up twist. Served ice-cold in a tall glass, it’s fizzy, lightly sweet, and refreshingly tart. The workers introduced themselves (thanks Deb, Teresa, Rusty and Eric!) and told us about the culture there. The owner Nancy Jo comes in often, gives great bear hugs and thanks her workers in person often despite having more than one restaurant! When do we even hear about that kind of thing anymore when AI is replacing all? AI can’t replace kindness, humanity and customer service. We will be back!!!“
