This place is a treasure! It’s a true American story. Excellent wine. Independent, family-owned, built from the ground up by the fruits of the family’s labor, without the benefits (or restrictions) of wealthy backing. We were looking for a quick wine tasting after visiting the aviation museum. Alumbra is a newer vineyard with a five star rating, and it's really close to the museum and airport. The tasting area is in the middle of the vineyard off a small dirt road, very unassuming with a friendly, welcoming vibe. Elena, the winemaker, is wonderful and gave us the family history from how it started up until now. Enjoying the McMinnville airshow and some excellent wines today. What a lovely, laid back place. The family that owns the winery is very nice.
