“My family and I are locals and frequent your restaurant often. We truly enjoy your establishment and want to start by saying we recognize how difficult it is to find and retain good employees these days. We’ve seen many staff members come and go over the years, and we genuinely appreciate the efforts of your current manager (I’m not sure of her name) — she seems to be doing a great job trying to turn things around since COVID. We also remember Becca fondly, as she was wonderful, and there are currently a few employees who consistently provide excellent service.

That said, I wanted to share some ongoing concerns regarding one particular server, Jacob D. This feedback isn’t meant to be unkind, but rather to highlight areas where additional training or support may be needed.

Over multiple visits, we’ve experienced repeated issues such as:
• Orders being incorrect (regular fries served instead of Cajun, Cajun tots replaced with fries, tomato on a burger when requested without).
• Condiments being incorrect (ketchup requested, ranch delivered).
• A split burger order being confused with a single burger order.
• Very long wait times before being greeted or offered water (around 25 minutes during a slow evening).
• Empty water glasses not being refilled, even when clearly visible.
• Appetizers and food taking extended periods despite the restaurant being nearly empty.
• A general lack of awareness of guest needs, such as checking in, offering refills, or asking if we’re ready to order.

We understand that some issues can originate in the kitchen, and we also notice a difference in consistency between weekday and weekend service. However, many of these concerns seem to stem from attentiveness and situational awareness rather than attitude — Jacob is not rude, but appears to struggle with basic customer service flow.

We genuinely like your restaurant and want to continue coming back. Our hope in sharing this is that it may help improve consistency and overall guest experience. With some additional training, or perhaps placing him in a support role better suited to his strengths, we believe service could greatly improve.

“This is the last good Dairy Queen in Clatsop County. Don't go to Warrenton or Astoria; they'll make ya sick. Gearhart DQ has always been solid, and they actually cook their food. Without the Gearhart location, you'd have to go all the way to Manning DQ (also just as good as Gearhart). PLEASE STICK AROUND IN GEARHART. 🤣“

“The Bistro is more than a fabulous restaurant from the wine selection to the main dish, desserts, and after dinner liqueur. The service we received from Trihn was amazing from beginning to end. The live acoustic Guitar performance by Wes who had played there for years was relaxing and perfect for the relaxing evening my friend Lisa and I needed the other night. But Jack the owner and creator of this wonderful Bistro ended our evening sharing with us both his life story and path that got him to where he is today, including sharing samples of amazing herbal after dinner liqueurs I have never heard of. We had the best time ever. Cannon beach is one of our favorite getaway destinations and the Bistro a restaurant that is in its own class of excellence that I hope everyone who goes to Cannon beach to getaway has the opportunity to experience. We feel blessed to have had the incredible evening we had.“

“Looking for a dog friendly restraunt W/ a casual dinning atmosphere we dicided to give Ruby's a go. Open laid back place. not a big beer or drink menu in genral but we all ordered a Burger and we were all very pleased. I had the jalapen'o burger and i believe it had to be one of the best Burgers iv'e ever eaten. Do yourself a favor and check it out!!“

“Stopped in today to get a coffee. I got the Winter Solstice latte and a hot chocolate. The barista was so welcoming and kind, I didn’t catch their name unfortunately. The coffee was delicious. The vibes were immaculate and so cozy. The perfect balance of whimsical and radical and I am here for it. I will definitely be back and will recommend them to all my friends and family when they come to visit. 🫶🏻“

“This place is the best lunch or casual dinner place I've been to. The food was absolutely amazing. Made in house pizza, burgers, wraps, and more. The salad bar has the best options for any salad lover or not. Prices are great, about a 1/3rd less than anywhere else for the same meal. They have pizza hat and ready on the pizza bar. The staff were some of the best also, great attitudes and helpful. Wish it was closer to home, it would be a regular spot for me!!“

I visited Oregon in 2023 and stumbled in this place when we visited Cannon Beach and everything else on the main strip was pretty much closed. My husband and I got the last two seats at the bar and loved the food. The service was super friendly and I had the best marionberry cocktail, I still think about it to this day.

When we found out we were coming back to Portland for a wedding, I knew I had make the trip back out to Cannon Beach for this place. And what do you know, it was just as perfect the second time. As mentioned, it’s a super small restaurant. My party of 3 this time waited maybe 10-15 minutes outside. The one server was super friendly, gave great recommendations and was very friendly with the rest of the restaurant goers.

Last time I got the nachos, this time I got the dirty fries and I’d recommend either dish! This place is just a tad off the main street, but so worth your visit! I hope I get to come back again.“

“You have to eat here. If you like Thai food, this is got to be one of the best. We've eaten there every time we've gone to Astoria, Oregon and absolutely love it. Food is always fresh and delicious 😋. Prices are between $12-$20 generally.“

“We had a delicious dinner at Seaside Brewing!! My husband and I both got the beef brisket sandwiches, I had grilled veggies and he had fries! Then we shared the sweet potato fry appetizer. & our teenager got the cod tacos!! All of us loved our food, our experience and the atmosphere. ALSO the guy behind the bar was phenomenal! He came and checked on us a couple times and made sure he said bye to us on the way out. Above and beyond service. Oh! Plus..we got our food before we even all got to finish washing our hands! “Today we stopped by this bar while driving thru sea side. It was recommended to try the tuna steak sandwich and boy it did not disappoint! Fresh tuna, homemade French fries and cold beer can be found at this location! Lisa was our bartender and server. She was so welcoming and provided fast service. Overall I am so impressed with this little bar set on the side of the highway! I will be back for that tuna sandwich in the future!“

“On vacation with family here in Seaside and a friend of mine suggested trying Dutch Bros. Gosh is it ever so good! I ordered a golden eagle chai and it is super tasty. Also a somewhat reasonable price for a large. Will definitely be going back on the next trip here.“

“This place is usually pretty good. It’s just inconsistent. We went yesterday and the guy working there said they don’t do the jumbo size anymore and they don’t have Bavarian cream. I’ll still probably go back next time though so I’ll see what’s changed.“

“We actually wanted to have breakfast elsewhere but due to the crowd, chose to be here, and found their food so yummy ! I ordered eggs, potatoes and toast. My wife ordered mashroom omelets. Food was very delicious and perfect. However, their latte was pretty average.

But the thing that stands out is, the staffs— they are always smiling, and going out of their ways to help customers.“

“My boyfriend and I spent a week in Cannon Beach, and Pizza A’Fetta was one of the highlights of our trip. We stopped in on our very first day, and from the first bite we were hooked. The pizza was consistently fresh, delicious, and made with high-quality ingredients.

We loved it so much that we ended up ordering from here almost every day during our stay! On top of the amazing food, the owner is genuinely kind and welcoming, which made every visit even better.

“My wife and I were visiting for a few days and when asking for great seafood restaurants in town we were directed by numerous locals to Dooger’s… and we were not disappointed! My wife ordered the Dungeness Crab Louis salad which was loaded with fresh local crab at a very reasonable price! Great salad and nicely presented. I ordered the fresh pan fried Oysters Cajun style and they literally melted in my mouth! Probably the best oysters I’ve ever had…wow! Our server Jacob was super cool and made us feel comfortable and welcome. A real pro with perfect service! We will be back when we are in Seaside again! “After losing some love for Fultanos at other locations, we got a Mona Lisa with some extras in Cannon Beach. They've renewed my like for the brand and I'll be returning to the Cannon Beach location more often 🍕🥤🧡“

“This cute little spot is tucked back into the corner of the outlet mall. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

We had Teriyaki, a couple of rolls and the Tomago sashimi. My son said it was the best Tomago he's ever had, and he's obsessed with it so he would know.

The Teriyaki chicken was hot, fresh and tender, the veg was fresh steamed and still had crunch to it and the rice was plentiful!

We got the spicy tuna roll and the avocado roll. The Avocado was super fresh and convinced my picky eater child that he now loves avocado. The spicy tuna was just right, there was a delicious undertone of spice but the tuna flavor still came thru.“
