“We've been around the Astoria for years now. We never tried the Bowpicker. But today we were in town and decided to try it. It's every bit as good as we heard it is. We both got the 5 piece fish-n-chips with a soda. I asked for extra tartar sauce and she gave us each the larger PC cup full of it. The fries were crunchy outside and soft inside. Now to be fair it's clear they're not making these fries here. They're ok, just not great. But the real star of the show is the fish.
The fish was coated with a batter and fried perfectly crunchy. The moist and soft fish was fresh tasting. I'm not sure what fish they use. While I was waiting for my order I noticed as I was looking back in the prep and cooking area that there were several cans of natural ice beer open sitting on the counter back there. This leads me to believe that they are making a beer batter for the fish. I also think that they are making the batter in smaller batches more often so the fish is always fried in a batter that's freshly made.
I asked for extra tartar sauce and they gave me a larger PC cup of it. I felt like it needed more lemon juice in the tartar sauce. I can't tell if they're making it or buying the tartar sauce in.
I could've used more ketchup, they give you a small PC cup halfway full of ketchup. The soda is in cans and they do not have cups or ice.
There aren't any tables here so you have to eat in your car or find somewhere else to sit. This is a full on boat they're operating out of. It still sits on the trailer as you can tell in the pic.
We'll be back. There's usually a line of people waiting to order so be prepared for that.
Parking: Street parking only here.
Wheelchair accessibility: There are stairs up to the boat to get to where you order from. So you can't bring a wheelchair up there. However you could just catch their attention from the sidewalk out in front of it and shout your order up to them if you wanted to.“

“Absolutely stunning hotel that has been very thoughtfully designed and decorated, creating a truly relaxing atmosphere. I loved seeing items that were from local artisans and enjoyed the historic photographs in the hallways. We were warmly greeted and assisted by Heidi when we walked in to check-in and the encounters with wonderful staff didn’t end there. Hope made our delicious cocktails in the evening and we so enjoyed the time she spent chatting with us. I don’t usually sleep well away from home but our bed was so comfy in the Buoy Suite, I slept like a baby. The location is great too if you want to get out on foot and explore all that Astoria has to offer. 10/10 and can’t wait to come back again.“

“We came from the East Coast not knowing what to do in town. We ended up in this great wine place and had an amazing time. The lady at the bar was so attentive and took the time to give us local wine recommendations. The wine was so good!!!! She also helped us plan the rest of our road trip on this side of Oregon by bringing a local magazine with a map and suggestions of what to do. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.“

“Amazing. We were told if you go to Astoria go and try the fish n Chips from this one place but they sold out and so we saw this place and we were so glad we did. Hubby had the Philly cheesesteak and I had the fish n chips, we both shared the awesome bowl of claim chowder. FYI they have the best tarter sauce“

“More of a mini mart atmosphere than a place to get a beer, especially in the morning when I came thru, but my cashier was rad, and I got what I needed and was in and out quickly. GUYS, They have these balls..... holy moly. By the register, check out the balls. They are 8balls in one biggg ball, filled with the sweet things headaches are made of. I can't wait to try. ??⚡️ they've got the biggest balls of them all!??⚡️ balls ???? “
“This was one of our favorite breweries, if not the best, that we tried on our two week tour of the PNW. Excellent beer and very chill atmosphere. Our server was great and we got to meet the brewer. Both were a joy. Don't let the building fool you. This place is worth it.“

“Vicky is knocking it out of the park with this venue. Fabulous wine offerings, lovely cheese and charcuterie boards as well as local beer and non-alcoholic offerings. Oh, I didn't mention the delightful staff - AMAZING! Very warm (with fireplace) and welcoming! Love, love, love this place! We will be back soon and likely at least once a week! Thank you Vicky, Chloe and Katie!!!! Denise and Scot“
“Yet another great brewery addition in Astoria! It's a spacious indoors with a couple televisions and lots of bar seating. There are a few picnic tables out front and the front doors roll up to make the inside open air for warmer days. The beer is always top notch at Breakside; this visit was no exception. I only had the wedge salad but the Mama Lil's Peppers set it off. The service was great as well. Highly recommend a stop when in Astoria if you're new to or familiar with Breakside.“

“Took a sister trip to Oregon, our first stop for two nights was their Airbnb next to the tavern. Great accommodations all around!!! The staff are friendly and helpful, good food, and fun atmosphere in the tavern. And they had the cutest outdoor patio behind the building with numerous seating and fun things to do. Their Airbnb was awesome too. Very clean, spacious, and the beds were amazing!!! We will definitely be coming back!!“

“The seafood chowder is a great value. Best take on a clam chowder I have ever tried. Fresh soft clams, perfectly cooked tuna, bay shrimp, in a base that is light and perfectly seasoned. Such a nice change from the usual potato and cream soups with canned clams you usually find.“

“Poor service and the owner is extremely rude. There was only 2 tables other than ours being waited on . We ended up leaving after no service for 20 minutes . After reading the response the owner left on other Google reviewers posts I'm glad we did not stay.“

“The food was delicious! It was a little on the spendy side but the quality and quantity was definitely worth it. We did not leave hungry! Seating outside gives you a beautiful view of the river/ ocean. And inside they sell tons of memorabilia to remember your visit by. Can't wait to come back!“

“Good food, nice staff, excellent views, and amazing selection of drinks! We sat outside on the patio and it was such a nice environment. I got the clam chowder bread bowl and my family got fish and chips, both were satisfying. Food was delivered hot and fast, without ant issues. We also purchased a bottle of the whiskey, I highly recommend trying!! Overall, a great stop for lunch or dinner!“

“Unfortunately this just isnt the resturant or experience it used to be. Offerings are far less and no cheese curds or gf was sad. Food has gone down hill drastically and walk up counter ordering just makes it fast food.
Wheelchair accessibility: Difficult to navigate for a person with mobility issues“
