“La Provence in Beaverton is our favorite location in this excellent chain, and we always enjoy their wonderful food when we are visiting the area. Their bakery has suppled us with many welcomed hostess or celebration gifts (oh, those macarons!) over the years. The staff is excellent as well (hi, Cory, thanks again!). Highly recommended.“

“The best meal I have had at any Portland restaurant! We ate our way through the entire menu and each dish was amazing and the perfect combination of flavors! Highly recommend this for any occasion, we will definitely be back. The staff and chef made us feel like life long friends. Sitting at the counter was an extra special treat and enlightening into the dish preparations.“

“I had a memorable dinner at Higgins Restaurant. I ordered their Oregon Mushroom Set Menu, and each dish reflected their respect for local ingredients. The wild mushroom bisque was particularly delicious, with a smooth texture and rich aroma. The waiter was very professional and attentive, explaining the background of each dish. The elegant yet relaxed atmosphere was perfect for a leisurely meal with friends or family.“

“Coq à Vin feels less like dining out and more like being welcomed into someone’s home. It’s the kind of true farm-to-table experience that reminds you of those European countryside excursions — the ones hosted in a monastery, on a farm, or in someone’s own kitchen — where every detail carries a story.
The duck was absolutely beautiful: buttery, tender, and cooked with real care. The pâté was another standout — homemade and paired with a jam made right on their farm, which was so fresh and bright it completely elevated the dish. The pappardelle was delicate and clearly crafted with intention; I just wished for a bit more flavor depth, though its freshness still shone through.
Not every dish was my personal favorite, but the craftsmanship and intention behind each were clear.
The wine pairing, though, tied everything together — possibly the best in Portland. Each pour felt deliberate and truly enhanced the dishes, turning the meal into something special. It was super generous too, you could take as much as you wanted out of the bottle.
While $300 before tip for two felt a bit steep for how many dishes I personally loved solely based on taste, but it did feel justified by the overall experience — intimate, sincere, and clearly made with heart.“
“This place is a gem! We went here on a Monday night to celebrate my friend’s birthday. The staff, manager, and chef/owner were all so lovely. The ambiance is pretty and very French, but also casual like a bistro. They had happy hour all night on Monday. I didn’t get a picture of every dish we had, but they were all amazing! The flavors were thoughtful and the ingredients were responsibly sourced locally. The food was both elegant and comforting like your mom or grandma cooked it with love. It’s also reasonably priced (thankfully in this economy). We paid the same as I had at a restaurant downtown the night before, but got twice as much food and a better all around experience. We can’t wait to come back to try more from the menu. I love their approach to both the food and sourcing from our community. Absolutely go!“

“French food is not normally the top on my list of dining choices, but I am really glad that I took a chance on this place. The food was excellent and cute whole in the wall very French atmosphere really rounded it all off. There is limited seating and a bit tight being a small bistro of sorts, but once you get settled in and relaxed, you forget forgive the close quarters by the very French décor and feeling once you start looking around at everything. Service was friendly there, but a bit awkward at no fault to the server since she was still relatively new there and apologized for it immediately. She was sincere and did her best throughout our dining experience. Ordered the open faced sandwich which was a shrimp smorbord and it was just amazing. So beautifully prepared with such care and presentation. The ingredients were fresh and flavorful. Also got the mussels, which were meaty and perfectly cooked in a light herb broth. This will be a must on my return to visit list when ever in Portland next and do recommend that you give it a try if so inclined. Bon Appétit!“

“The burger here was unreal, cooked perfectly with melty cheese and crispy edges. We also split an order of Korean fried chicken, which was spicy and addictive. The restaurant had a casual vibe but felt polished at the same time. Service was quick even though the place was packed.“

“In all fairness, the owner is a relative of mine. Still this was our first visit to her wine bar and our first impression was of a very comfortable relaxed atmosphere with quality food and service. Given that she's owned the business going on thirteen years, I would say that Niche definitely deserves a visit if you have never been. It would be a great place to take out of town guests.Because of our unique circumstances, there are many details I find it difficult to speak towards. Therefore I would recommend you reviewing their website and/or calling with your specific questions or concerns.“

“What a wonderful experience tonight at Don's on a special occasion! We enjoyed the tradition and story-driven menu, the attentive service, and the cozy, inviting dining room. Each dish was outstanding, but the clam linguine, Meyer lemon granita, and sesame popovers were favorites. We made plans for our next visit before we even left the restaurant. Highly recommended!“
