“Al Amir has been a family favorite for years. The owners know my parents, and our family are fairly regular. I honestly believe Al Amir is the absolute best Lebanese food in Portland. My husband and I just had them Cater our 10th wedding anniversary party, and everyone raves about the food. They were super generous with helping navigate our event. “I’ve visited this place several times, and it has quickly become one of my favorite spots. My regular order is the falafel sandwich with Turkish coffee, and both are always fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The quality and consistency of the food keep me coming back.
The prices are also very reasonable compared to many places in Portland, which makes it an even better value. On top of that, the owner is a genuinely kind and welcoming person who creates a warm atmosphere for customers.

“The chairs were a little uncomfortable but we found that to be a staple in Portland. The food though was absolutely amazing and our server who seemed to also be a stakeholder was sweet and super helpful when handling our large party with multiple demands. We would definitely go back!“

“Had the chicken shawarma taco for Taco Week and it was great! Also had a falafel salad - falafel had amazing flavor! Loved their hot sauce too. The owner is also super nice and says his wife makes all the desserts. Can’t wait to try more things!“

“Wow! My boyfriend and I stopped here randomly because we needed some lunch during a move and the food is fantastic!!
The star of the show is this pistachio baklava I got that is simply phenomenal!! We live in St. Johns but I think I would make the drive all of the way back just for this baklava. 1000/10!

“Karam catered our wedding and was a definite crowd-pleaser. We ordered lamb and chicken shawarma, chicken kebab, falafel, tabouleh, dolmas, and majadra, along with hummus and baba ghannouj. Everything was delicious, just as it is whenever we dine or get takeout from Karam. Our only regret is that we didn't order baklava, too!“
