“This was my first time in Portland and I had heard about the phenomenal food truck culture in the city. This one was my absolute favorite of them all!

Kafta house is a “Mom & Pop” owned food truck offering middle eastern/Mediterranean cuisine. The owners are very warm people and treat their customers like family who have come over for dinner.

I had the lamb gyros with fries. The lamb meat was perfectly cooked and seasoned tastefully, as were the fries. I’ve eaten many gyros in my life, but have to say this one was my favorite.

The cardamom chai was the perfect ending to a great meal. Thank you to the owners for the most memorable dining experience during my stay in Portland! I wish this food truck existed in the city where I live. I will stop by again if I come back to Portland.“

“I love this place - There was a guy I hadn't seen before working tonight and he stopped midway through making my lamb curry to check and give me a spice/salt level test. The guy who I usually see did the same thing before I started regularly visiting and he got to know my levels - These guys care about making their customers into regulars and you can tell that they're proud of what they do. As expected with this level of personalized service and care, the food is out out of this world and is my go-to for a cold rainy day - Luckily we have lots of them! Get the lamb curry - The lamb chunks are spoon tender, the curry is spiced perfectly and the rice is fluffy and aromatic!“

Not sure what was in it because I didn't ask; it was sweet but not too sweet and had some other seasoning/flavor (light hazelnut or cinnamon). Latte was great. “Usually I don't leave reviews unless I am blown away. This is one of those cases. I ordered the Lamb Gyro with Baklava for dessert. The meat on the lamb melts in your mouth, the sauces are so flavorable, the bread was warm and soft, the gyro was packed with meat.

The baklava was delicious, sweet but enough to the point to where its not overly sweet, a perfect level of sweetness that is hard to be replicated.

I live in Vancouver and UberEats this all the way from Portland. It is the best middle eastern food I have ever had, tonight it has taken the #1 throne. Writing this review right after I ate it.“

“We stopped here while visiting from Chicago. We do not have food cart pods like this at home and I love the concept. This particular pod was among the two best that we visited. We had beer and Indian food and both were above average. I particularly liked the DIY, unpretentious demeanor of the eating space. It had less infrastructure than other pods but for me that was even better, in terms of staying true to the original concept and controlling costs. I just felt at home. Keep it up!“

Everything was so flavorful and delicious! Service was excellent. I was impressed that the truck was only run by one man --- and he really slayed in that kitchen! I highly recommend visiting the Midtown Beer Garden whenever you are in downtown Portland and or are looking for new places to eat.
There are plenty of other food charts to choose from besides this one so everyone can enjoy eating their favorite cuisine.
Negative is prices are on the higher end but the burrito was very large- more like an extra large size.
All in all we had a very positive experience the day we went, and I hope you too!“
