“This was a good Mexican restaurant in Corvallis. The food is great and never lets me down. But the service was kinda slow and it felt like that our server wanted us out quickly. The atmosphere is good and gives that nice vibe with the wooden walls and decor.

Parking: Although the parking is small, it's not that hard to find parking right in front of the restaurant.“

“Located behind Spaeth Lumber (so it is easy to miss), this unobtrusive but attractive Corvallis icon survived the pandemic days. Reminiscent of restaurants in Southern California, the decor is Spanish mission, replete with Mexican pottery, tiles, and frescoes.

Plenty of standards on the menu as well as personal specialties, the food is not so much unique as it is comforting, familiar fare. The service is exquisite every time and reminds me of the hospitality I would receive when visiting places in Mexico.

The spacious interior is made to feel private with the layout of the tables, central fireplace, and booths, so it never feels crowded. There is a cozy outside patio garnished with flowers and greenery. The prices are fair. Overall, a relaxing, enjoyable experience.“

“I have passed by El Palenque hundreds of times but finally decided to stop in yesterday for lunch. They have delicious food and even better drinks! The Mango Tajin margarita was amazing. I highly recommend checking it out. We will definitely be back again soon!“

Their carnitas are still the best, and Lupe and Carlos two of the loveliest people we know.Oroginal: Still our go-to restaurant for any reason: Visiting family, take-out, dinner, lunch, breakfast. We've been eating here since 2012, not long after they opened and within weeks of our move to Corvallis. Everything we've eaten has been fantastic. I only order carnitas at Delicias Valley Cafe! The salsas are wonderful and fresh. (And I should know, since I lived in New Mexico for years.) The tamales are so top notch, we order a whole take-out plate every Christmas. Best fajitas we've had. Lupe and Carlos are local, and we've watched the kids grow up. Lupe knows us by name and asks about family who've visited. We highly recommend the food and the wonderful people.

Kid-friendliness: The owners have children their own who have often visited throughout the 12 years we've been visiting. There is plenty of kid-necessary stuff.“
