Eat the food; drink the drinks: step back in time with mid century modern decor. Excellent pinball spot with a pool table, patio and, stand up arcade games even but that’s required to match the 60’s vibe. It’s so cool and soo very awesome. Dimly lit and relaxed; the frills are in the house cocktails in glass pineapples which is not a complaint - every detail is thought out.

“Have only been blessed with food from here twice, recently with some tomato soup and bread someone dropped off at camp which was really good and about 5 or 6 years ago one of the ladies there hooked me up with an elk burger that was incredible. Makes me happy that I spend time cleaning up the area after all the folks that toss the fast food trash out the door before driving home

Parking: Can be a little tricky as the parking for most businesses in the area is side street parallel. There's a large lot next door for McDonald's but they've been known to tow people, part of the lot is out in front of over and out but I'm not sure if that's McDonald's as well. There is a lot at 81st and Washington at Milwaukee lumber where it's ok to park after 5pm up to around 630am and one across 81st at atc autobody but watch for broken glass in that one esp near Dumpsters“

“First time here at Bandits bar and grill, I have heard good things about this place from friends that live in the area and have stopped here when driving I84. First impression is cute bar/restaurant, the bartender/waitress was so welcoming and attentive. Ordered a beer and she advised the special of the day. I ordered a cup of the tri tip chili and the grilled chicken sandwich. The chili is really good! I'd defiantly order this again! The grilled chicken sandwich was good, the bun was perfect! The bar has a large outdoor area with tables set up to sit outside, perfect for evening time when the sun goes down but during the day and the sun is out each table has an umbrella. Over hearing others in the bar, they were loving the food. I will say the food is coming out fast. The only negative comment is AC seemed to maybe not working to blow cooler air but still was comfy. I looked at the Facebook page for bar and I can see why people have a good time here from the pictures post on the page. I will defiantly come back!!“

“We tasted a couple of flights and a glass of Pét Nat each, it was a really lovely experience. Fairly priced. Calm and cool atmosphere with some nice music. Each table has an assortment of obscure Trivial Pursuit cards which was such a fun, silly addition to the experience. We also ordered the truffle almonds to break up the wine a bit and they were very tasty.
The person who prepared our flights was very knowledgeable and friendly. This was a Sunday afternoon, I wish I could remember their name because he really did top off the experience.“

“Our classy senior friend introduced us to Blank Slate and we've since enjoyed it several times. It's a smallish spot but also intimate. Quirky decor, in a tasteful way--modern/vintage mix. Love the silent movies and their eclectic vinyl selection. The cocktails are super and the small bites on offer are creative and delicious. The bartender on our last visit was working hard but was also attentive and kindly assisted me in the need for both beverage and meal modifications due to diet restrictions.

Recommended: Deviled eggs, mac and cheese, pigs in a blanket, truffle/parm popcorn, mixed olives.“

The vibes are always relaxed and comfortable, bar tenders are friendly and laid back, the cheeseburgers are delicious and very reasonably priced, and the drinks are good! On top of that, their new pinball selection (7 machines!) makes this place too good to be true, with two of my all time favorite machines. Happy its in the neighborhood. Don't be fooled by its unassuming facade, Old Gilbert is a perfect neighborhood bar and a Mt. Scott institution.“

“I love the vibe of this bar. Inside this location is the working distillery where McMenamins makes a large portion of its Hogshead whiskey and Lemon vodka. Distillery tours take place at 1PM Monday through Friday, be sure to get your stamp. Overall the in house cocktails are awesome and the staff are very knowledgable about theirs products.“

“Basic Portland dive bar but that's what they are aiming for. Comfort. Decent strong drinks, usual bar food. I had tots but the basket was huge. They have karaoke, but I've never been there for that. Weekend nights get busy. Staff is always friendly. Multiple TV's usually playing sports.“
