Service is unmatched, every time I get a burrito they always ask how I’m doing, what I’m up to and truly care for their customers. This family works 5-10am delivering food in the dalles then drive to hood river and then open from 11-6, 6 days a week! This family owned and operated restaurant along with being one of most affordable restaurants in the gorge. Any time anyone asks me where they should eat, without hesitation I always recommend here. “Tacos Poncitlan is a food truck next to Marcos Sports and an auto body shop in a big parking lot just off Tucker Rd. Watch for the Taco flags ! I had a chicken burrito and it was good. Very normal size, flavor, fillings. Nothing fancy or different. Fast service and friendly. Red and green salsas were standard. Neither was very hot.“

“We showed up on Father’s Day, a big outing Sunday for families, after we struggled to get into two other restaurants with our hungry 2 year old and when we told our waitress that our kid really needed to eat 10 minutes ago they instantly got a plate of rice and beans out to our table with waters and chips so our little one would melt down. That’s the sign of an amazing restaurant and people who understand their customers! Thank you so much for saving part of our vacation when we were stressing out, we are new loyal consumers whenever we pass through town. Also, the sauce on the chili reino was different and really good!“

I’m a local to the area, and this will be the go to for street tacos! Tried pollo, chorizo, carnitas, al pastor, and asada! Flavor was absolutely fantastic.

We had a big party of 8 and she handled everything from seating us, to drinks to cooking the food, and serving some of the best food we have had on our trip. An overall A+ experience with something for everyone from burgers and fries to fajitas and other authentic Hispanic dishes.“
