“So delicious every time! The tamales are to die for and the tacos are so good!! They also make their own sauces including habanero and avocado that complement almost everything on the menu! Also, probably the best guacamole I’ve ever had.“
“This is a super unique location on the edge of Damascus. It is in the middle of a bunch of nursery stock, next to some kind of shop. Food was good. Service was pretty fast. I ordered a chicken burrito and it was well made. Chicken was good and the other fillings were good as well.“
“Don't know why this place is rated lowest along this stretch of highway. The tortillas were handmade and fresh rather than stale store bought offerings, and the birria special was delicious. I will be back if I'm in the area at lunchtime again.“
“Great Mexican cart! I've been going here for years and I'm so glad they're here! They make amazing carnitas, pollo, and Al Pastor. I have to be honest and say that I'm not a huge fan of their Carne Asada, but other than that, I love this place. Tacos, burritos, nachos, and quesadillas are all top notch. You won't be disappointed.“
“this place is awesome!! Guilhermo is an incridible owner and the food is the best food in town. There's no way to go wrong with thier carne assada guys!! whatever you buy from here you won't regret.Kid-friendliness: every time I get my kids in, we have no complaints.“
“Great and fresh burrito. The way they cooked the tortilla was outstanding, I absolutely loved a grilled tortilla the way they did it.The burrito I got was veggie, and had pickled onions and other fresh ingredients and was delicious, one of the freshest tasting burritos I've had.The drink was jamaica hibiscus and wasn't too sweet, which is great, I hate when places just add tons of sugar to drinks.Would have rather had horchata, but the option wasn't available on the app I ordered from. The sauces were something special, the avocado was airy almost like a whipped sauce. The habanero was spicy and sorta sweet. Both delicious.Overall easy 5 star.“
“I went to the food cart location and saw they now have gone brick and mortar. How exciting!! I had their street tacos and some Birria Consomé. Sooo super yummy!!There was plenty of parking and it is wheelchair accessible. The place looks clean. Hands down, these are the best street tacos I've ever had!“
“The food quality is good, but the size of the breakfast burritos leave something to be desired, and I am a small person so I don't eat much. Would have been better if they put potatoes in it to bulk it up a little. The people working in there are nice and the lattes and food are good though. I would go back.“
“Can’t go wrong eating here. Portions are good - you won’t leave hungry. All of our dishes had so much flavor and spice. And all the side sauces were perfect to top it off. Even had Lao chili oil sauce. And the drinks were perfectly made. Everyone working was super friendly as well. 11/10 restaurant ?“
“Love this place!! By far the best restaurant in Gresham. Always great food and friendly service. When I say "great food", I mean the absolute best food in town!!!! This review is after probably 50 visits to the restaurant. I guarantee, any low reviews (and there are very few), are by people that just can't be pleased anywhere.“
“I have to say that this cart was absolutely amazing. Me and my wife got the Birria Burritos one with no beans and one with beans, they were a perfect balance, the taste was great, the sauce was spicy but tasteful as well. Hands down a very good spot for some Birria!?!?! Thank you Jr and Guillermo Sr!“
“Wow wow wow! My buddy and I moved to Portland from Texas and New Mexico a year ago and we’ve been craving a taste of authentic Mexican and what better than homemade handmade local tamales. Hands down, the best we’ve ever had! We were surprised by the price at first but boy do they give you your money’s worth. You’ll be full off the first 2! Recommend the chicken and the cheese ones. Burrito was amazing and huge too especially for just $2! And the SALSA! F**k Yes! Finally good homemade salsa! Eat at and Support Los Tamales Locos and save me some!“
“BEST vegan tacos and vegan burritos I've had in the city!!! The tortillas for the tacos were the best tortillas I've ever had in my whole life and I've eaten a lot of Mexican food. The habanero salsa is a spice lover's dream come true. Can't wait to go back. What an absolute gem.“
“One of our go to places to get to food. The food is always yummy and they use fresh ingredients. I love that the food tastes exactly the same each time (which very rare now days). This is my favorite of the three locations. My favorite is the vegetation taco salad.“
“The tacos are really tasty (though I have only had the al pastor and chicken), I imagine the others are good as well. The Keto tacos are unique being a fired cheese shell, and are really good. The guacumole is chucky and plentiful both on the side or with their tasty nachos. The Mexican fried rice is a combination Spanish rice and Asian fried rice, very different and good. The burrito takes 2 hands to hold, it is big, also flavorful. I highly recommend eating here, I do at least once a week. The owners are also really nice people!“
“Tried for the first time 4-6-24. We just found our favorite place in the greater Gresham area. We've eaten at many of the Mexican restaurants, liked alot of them but this place beats them all for cleanliness, service, and most of all the quality of the food and price. You'll walk out knowing you just experienced something wonderful. This has become our go to place.“
“Mi amigo Paquito es excelente en su trabajo! Su comida tiene un muy rico sabor y los tacos están de rechupete!!A mi me encantan sus hamburguesas hacen una súper especial. Visiten el lugar . Paquito es muy amable y tiene un excelente sentido del humor.“
“The tacos are amazing. I ordered asada, pollo , lengua and tripe tacos. The lengua were my favorite but all of them were amazing. i had some green and red sauce on the side and normally I don't like the red sauce much and prefer the green but the red sauce has the perfect heat and it's slightly smoky with good flavor. As long as they keep this quality I won't go anywhere else for a taco again.“
“I've been coming here for years now. My absolute go-to. The food is very reasonably priced, and the quality is perfect. It's never more than 15 minutes for food, which is super convenient for us. Having 5 kiddos can get soendy so this place is “
“The young man taking orders was so polite and took the time to explain some of the memu items. We ended up getting the beef birria tacos with consume and the meat was so tender and full of flavor. We also got chicken Panuchos which was so fresh and colorful with cabbage and pickled onions creamy black beans and seasoned chicken it was so filling. The sauces were delicious especially the guacamole one. This was a great experience and the food was excellent. Try this place out you won't regret it“
“Cashier and Owner refused to give me their portion control size of sauce that I paid 2.50 for making the burrito WET. SPENT $19 dollars but didn't want to give me the pickle. Won't survive that way. Gives away as much salsa as people want but not what I paid for..Other places have tasty food also.Im out! One down ..all will go when you don't give what you advertise.“
“Highly recommend. Possibly the best Hispanic food I’ve EVER had. The tortillas were great, bread for the Torta was Definitely the best I’ve ever had. Not so soft that it falls apart, slight crunch. Tacos didn’t skimp on meat. Tender and flavorful no matter what one you get. The rice was also the best I’ve had. Moist and full of flavor. Found my new spot. Gotta get some churros and elotes. Price is comparable to any other truck and at times cheaper.“
“Pupusas! I just wanted to try one of these for the first time, and El Porvenir did not disappoint. I had the chicharrón pupusa with delicious salsas for $6 and was surprised to find it satisfying without being too heavy. Wonderful flavor and texture.Look forward to another visit to try the chef’s other specialties.“
“Amazing tacos! Filled to the brim with Carne Asada…wonderful salas. Very nice people…great customer service. She wrapped my tacos beautifully so I could tuck them under my cycling jacket and transport them safely home where I devoured them.“
“I highly recommend this place. Food is delicious. Waites Andres treats you family. I appreciate you so Andres, you are the best. My drink and modelo was too notch. Thank you so much ❤️? we got the BEST service from Andres. If y’all come please tip Andres good he deserves it ?“
“Amazing food, especially for the price point, but even without considering price, really good for both taste and portion size. The person who took our order effortlessly transitioned from English to Spanish for different customers, which includes announcing orders when they were ready. We will be back when we are in the area.Parking: It's a food truck in a parking lot which isn't that crowded.“
“This restaurant was lovely. The food was fresh, and the flavors were reminiscent of TexMex. I had a chicken enchilada with cheese and a lovely red sauce on top. Absolutely delicious. The salsa reminded me of salsa I used to get growing up in Texas.“
“This place is amazing! Someone clearly put their heart into making the interior feel like you were dining in an outdoor pavilion in Mexico. It is intricately detailed and decorated. The service is fantastic, and it's some of the best Mexican food I've had in Portland. Highly recommend dining here.“
“Food prices are not correct on yelp, they are quite a bit more than what is listed here. Service was good, food took awhile - but was super fresh and super hot... yummmmm! Ambiance is a little sketchy and the parking in this little strip mall is a nightmare.“
“As someone who was spoiled with amazing authentic Mexican and Guatemalan food for almost a decade in LA and Phoenix, this is the spot. So far I’ve had the chimichanga, the machete and the birria tacos. All insanely good. So much flavor. And their churros are filled with some type of magic sauce. I’m staring at this just cup that came with the birria tacos debating whether to save it for a marinade or just shamelessly drink it. Do not ever let this place go out of business. This is an institution and Portland needs to take notes.“
“I grew up in San Diego eating Mexican food probably every day; this place is the best! I don't know how they make it, but their steak/ carne asada burritto is the best thing I've ever had. They make it crunchy somehow, Also, I never had it until i ate here, but you must try the Chomoloko!“
“We finally stopped in a few months ago and have come back several times. The service is always great and the prices are super reasonable. We hosted a birthday party a few weeks back and they were fantastic! Somehow they kept everyone’s tabs correct and were very accommodating for a large group (about 25 people). We stopped in last night for happy hour and it didn’t disappoint. The margarita with Patron is fantastic! We’ve gotten several types of burritos before. Last night we tried a fish taco, shrimp taco, taco with asada and a huarache which we’d never had before and all were fantastic!“
“Delicious Cali burrito and their pastor is top notch. We try A LOT of Mexican food and food trucks in the Portland area and their pastor is definitely very high up on the "Best in Portland" list for sure. They are very friendly and welcoming here.“
“This place is right next to my go-to shop (snacks, booze, the occasional frozen treat), I mention, as I've passed this place up not knowing when going to the Shopeteria! and okay, I like what's happening here. Bare bones decor and just kinda a store front (more a to-go) thing happening here. Menu is super accessible as it's pics on the wall and I believe they have a fresh juice bar as well (closed today I guess). We got a wet burrito (sorry if that's not what it's called), tamales and a side of rice. Burrito (see pic) crazy good. Tamales, okay, a little dry but with the homemade sauce--yes. Rice, just skip or it's just filler. Service is wonderful, nice folks here, and we can't wait to come back for breakfast, as I've heard it's awesome!“
“Fantastic hole in the wall. Me and my family got the birria plate, an asada quesadilla, and the crispy tacos which we added beans and tinga chicken on top of. Everything we got tasted incredible. They had a awesome salsa bar - love their avocado salsa as it's got a kick to it! Highly recommend their tinga chicken if you like a bit of spice! Service was great. Good selection of beverages.“
“I've been saying I'm going to leave a review, but never do. This restaurants food is OUTSTANDING!!! I will say 9 out of 10 people agree with me. This Mexican restaurant has been located here for at least 30yrs ( I'm not sure could be longer. But Im serious when I say it's got so much flavor. My favorite is the chimichanga w/shredded beef. I would assume it's always marinated at least a day before. You can get it Alacart ($10 comes with home made chips, salsa, sour cream, and guacamole), or with beans and rice $13. Everything in this establishment is AWESOME MOUTH WATERING FLAVORFULL GOODNESS!!!! I will post a few of my dishes that I routinely get.“
“Delicious food. Ordered a Carne asada quesadilla plate, and it came with beans and rice. The corn tortillas are homemade. Their horchata is the BEST in town. My co-workers frequent here often, they order tamales and tacos and are never disappointed, always fresh. Come support this amazing local business. You won't regret it.“
“Honestly I don't have much to say about the food other than there seemed to be plenty of variety and options. I would like to review Brittany (Big Mama!) who hosted the axe throwing for our daughter's birthday party. She was very friendly and seemed to make a point of coaching the kids in a way that would make them succeed but also have a great time. She also went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable, had everything we needed, and was very approachable. An extra table was brought over just for us because our party was fairly large. Can't say enough great things about Brittany, she absolutely went above and beyond to make sure the party went smoothly. Another little shout out to the bartenders. We had multiple drink spills (toddlers) and they rushed over to help us each time and didn't make us feel bad about making messes (even though we did anyway). Thank you for the great time!Parking: The parking lot is pretty terrible.“
“Though this food cart's menu is heavy on meat, I always get a veggie burrito which is packed with cheese, beans, avocado as well as other veggies. The tasty burrito is huge and is more than I can eat in one sitting. Service is fast and friendly.“
“This is our #1 favorite restaurant for Mexican food in SE Portland. The sauces are homemade daily. Every single dish we've tried is amazing, but our favorites are enchiladas veracruzanos con camerones, chicken enchiladas con mole (off the chain), and spinach enchiladas. I honestly have to add regular chicken enchiladas with both red and green sauce. Dont forget an order of guacamole! Go for breakfast and get huevos rancheros and a cup of coffee that will be lightly flavored with cinnamon. So good, always clean, always delicious family restaurant.“
“The food and customer service has always been amazing here! My very first time I showed up they had been closed for a little but they were more than welcoming! I had to try a variety of different things and everything was absolutely amazing. 5 stars all “
“As someone who’s lived in Chicago, LA and CDMX I’ve had a hard time finding good Mexican food in Portland. But this is the first time I was genuinely happy with the food I received. The prices are great, the food is good quality I honestly don’t know how they haven’t blown up more. This is definitely a new favorite for me!“
“This taco shop has some really tasty food. It's one of the few authentic Mexican restaurants that serve or have serious vegetarian options. It's not every Mexican restaurant (or any but this one) that serve chipotle tempeh burritos etc. They also do soy curls, and tofu. And also meats. Best of both worlds. They have a nice set of picnic tables out front and a few tables inside, and nice bike parking. I also really like their chips. It reminds me of chips from Chi-Chi's back in the 80s and 90s. Chi-Chis made everything from scratch in House. Can you imagine a chain these days doing that. El Nutri taco does it. Love them. ❤️Vegetarian options: They serve tofu, tempeh, and soy curls. Possibly other items I've forgotten.“
“Blown away!I was hungry so I stopped in this little hole-in-the-wall for some tacos. Ended up with maybe the best pollo tacos I've had in Portland. The chicken was tender and flavorful, the onion, cilantro, lime, veggie garnish and salsa verde were all fresh, and the salsa had an extra kick. These are legit street tacos, so a little smaller than some of the street tacos around town. Easy on the pocketbook though, so grab a few extra! You'll want to gorge on these. The abuela running things is friendly but she doesn't speak much English, so be prepared to speak some Spanish or keep it simple.New favorite taco spot in Portland, definitely going back to try her other dishes.“
“I tried the taco plate and got half chicken half steak. They were good but I wasn't impressed with them especially from what the reviews raved about. However I did find the steak to be more flavorful than the chicken. The pineapple and hibiscus drinks were good. Service was pick-up and clean-up for yourself.... had I known that I would not have given a tip.“
“Delicious food! Birria is my favorite thing to eat at this place. Also I love that I can place a phone order and be ready by the time I get there. Recommend 100%. The ladies are Always friendly with a smile for you!Parking: They just expanded the parking lot making it easier for the customer the get in and out with out a problem“
“The tofu tacos were amazing! Would rate ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ if I could. Unfortunately, Happy Cow only allows me to put 4 stars for places not fully vegan. There were several vegan options too, which I really appreciated. The service was also great. Highly recommend!“
“I ordered the quesatacos and this food was absolutely the bomb, I apologize for not taking a picture of the before but I can definitely give you a picture of the after! This food absolutely slapped and it was perfection to the umpteenth degree. I have tried a lot of food in my time on this earth but this felt like an experience. I absolutely will return as these cheese, beefy and saucy tacos I ate will be my first go to order.“
“This place is our new favorite! Amazing prices, huge portions, great flavor! Love the self serve chip and salsa station. Also love the self serve soft drink station. They have a large outdoor seating area that is pet friendly! Their children’s menu is very well priced! The staff is awesome! So friendly, helpful and kind! We love it here!!!“
“Had Al Pastor & Carnitas tacos and the avocado and habanero salsas... I will definitely be coming back. So many taco trucks have bland/boring proteins and this place is flavorful and excellent. If anything, I'm sorry I didn't come here sooner.“
