“I never would’ve found this place if Energy Trust of Oregon hadn’t sent me over to propose a ductless mini split heat pump for the owner.
I didn’t win the project, but I did get introduced to this production kitchen that has a retail window where it serves the most amazing authentic Mexican food in Portland. I can’t drive by now without stopping. So yum! I may not have won the job, but God was still so good!“

“My wife brought me here for my 70th birthday. She asked, "where would you like to go?" "Surprise me.", I told her. Oh my! My grandmother from Puebla, Mexico would have loved this place. The tortillas were fresh, Handmade! I ordered the Pozole. Oh so rich and fragrant and bustling with pork, hominy and a very wonderful broth. Did I mention the tortillas?? Oh Lord!! I plan to bring my three adult children here for my son's birthday. I plan to eat my way through the menu, over the course of the next year or so. I can see that there are many others who love this place. The entire time we were having dinner, there was a steady stream of people coming in for takeout. Yep, this is a gem of a restaurant. Come enjoy.“

“Visited this great new addition to our neighborhood in SW Portland. Have tried the Taco Supreme, Quesadilla, and Cochinita Tacos and look forward to working my way through the other items on the menu. The Cochinita dishes showcase wonderful delicious shredded pork as the protein. The Horchata was also extremely well made and one of the best I've had in Portland. Mama Chio Rocks!“

“We really enjoyed our dinner at Tequeria. The server was very polite, patient, and informative. We were really impressed with the food being such great quality and made fresh and you could taste the freshness in the salsas which they had 5 different choices that were all so good, my favorite being the habanero because I like it spicy. We will definitely be back. Jesus was our server and he was so nice.“

“Was contemplating on Burger King, that pizza place or this place , I honestly have to say im glad I chose Taco Bout Gyro , all those people in line at Burger King are missing out So Sooo So good ,
I had the Lamb gyro, best one ive had in Portland and ive tried many places the Bread Is very traditional compares to other places ive been , all the ingredients were real and did there job well , I honestly wanted another after eating one thats how good they are , they are your usual size gyros but all the ingredients were heavenly added lamb was tender and flavorful, to top it off he does a fusion of mexican and Middle Eastern food , im already dreaming of lamb tacos , thank you and sorry for all the people missing out on this hidden gem spent 15$ on gyro amd coke , also nice touches inside the restaurant“

“I saw the price first and cringed a little. Then I thought about average tamale size and ordered two despite being a little pricier than expected. I only ate one because they are easily three times the size of the average tamale and well worth the (what I now see as) affordable price. The flavor is on point, the filling to masa ratio is perfect (I like heavy on the filling), and the people behind the counter are super friendly. Do yourself a favor and order enough to take home. These tamales are the shiz!“

Casa Colima is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming, colorful, and full of that fun, authentic Mexican restaurant energy. The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely made us feel taken care of throughout the entire meal.
The food was fantastic—fresh, flavorful, and served in generous portions. The chips and salsa were a great start, and everything we ordered came out hot and delicious. There are so many options on the menu that it makes it easy for everyone in the group to find something they’ll love. The margaritas were also excellent and paired perfectly with the meal.
What really stood out to me was the service. Our experience felt personal rather than rushed, and the staff was consistently attentive without being overbearing. It’s obvious that they take pride in creating a great experience for their customers.
Between the delicious food, great drinks, friendly service, and lively atmosphere, Casa Colima checks all the boxes. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great Mexican restaurant in the Portland area. Five stars all around, and I’ll definitely be coming back!“

“My girlfriends and I wanted to do karaoke and decided to check out this place. We had the best night of our lives. The service was fantastic. My tacos were amazing. The music in between people singing was great! You could go up as much as you wanted! We danced on the floor. My girlfriends loved the margaritas. Will definitely be back.“

“I get tacos or a burrito from this cart at least once a week and it never disappoints. Gabby makes THE BEST food and I crave it all the time! It’s a little expensive but the burritos are huge and can easily be cut in half to share or save for later. If someone asked me what’s my favorite restaurant in Portland, I’d probably say it’s this cart 😂“

“El Sol de Mexico is our family's favorite restaurant. We were saddened when the store in Tualatin closed. The store in Tigard is a longer drive, but the food is worth the drive. We have always been greeted warmly and feel like family. The food is wonderful and portions are generous. In over 25-years we have never been disappointed in the food or the service.“

“I enjoyed my seafood Cancun Burrito. I also had a side of guacamole and chips that was very good. There were many other couples and families seated and dining while I picked up my to-go order for two. Great value and the service was excellent with a short wait for what was ordered. I'll go back to try other items on the menu. Came back for lunch this week. It was delicious!!!“
