“Easily the best burger in the metro area. They make a smash burger but like anything in Portland. That is not true. It is an almost smash burger more like a pressed burger does not have the lacey char or anything that makes a good smash burger. Also second best burger in Oregon. Junkyard is better. No this burger does not compare to smash burgers in Los Angeles.“
“What an absolute gem! I love everything about Turkey Place ? I stopped in for a coffee, breakfast burrito, and to return a bunch of emails. I left feeling so content that I took a lovely walk around downtown afterwards. The staff are so stunningly fantastic and sweet, the breakfast burrito was yummy all the way through, the coffee was hot and tasty, the shop is so perfectly laid out and clean, and watching the staff interact with regulars was a beautiful experience that I'll treasure forever. “Outstanding. One of a kind deli specializing in house made sausages, meats, and salads. The quality and variety of the food is superior. A nice selection of made-to-order hot and cold sandwiches are available from the deli counter. Mouthwatering bbq hotdogs grilled just outside the door. Excellent selection of PNW beers and wine. A few bus-your-own tables inside. Reasonable prices considering the quality.“
“Aunt Tillie's is *so* good! The people running it seem genuinely nice, the vibe is relaxed, service is great, and it's one of the best sandwiches you'll ever eat. If you want a meal that tastes homemade and is reasonably priced, go here. They also have old fashioned milk shakes (my teenager really appreciated that as you might imagine).Last words of praise: the portion sizes are totally under control in a world where portion sizes are out of control. “My girlfriend and I popped in here on a walk around the neighborhood the other day and got some chicken noodle soup and cheesecake to go. We had the soup for dinner and it was delicious...but let me tell you about the cheesecake! We just tasted the cheesecake now, and both agree this is the best cheesecake we've ever had! Excellent! “I go in regularly to this bustling deli for borscht soup, cabbage rolls and feta cheese pies. They have great sandwiches that locals come in for while I am eating my borscht in a cozy table with big windows to peer out of.I drool over the cakes beautifully displayed. You can buy whole and most by the slice for a nice birthday or Valentines day, any occasion. Lots of specialty items like piroshki. Vegetarian choices as well. I feel good about supporting these hard working families unique to our community.“

“Really good bagels. Comparable to a New York bagel. Good cream cheese. They were out of ever it hung bagels so I'll have to come back. Settled for a salt bagel with smoked salmon cream cheese. Delicious. Nice and chewy with a slight crunch. Smoked salmon cream cheese was yummy too.“

“A total slice of SoCal! Came in for lunch on a cold blustery day and was pleasantly surprised to find the Beach Hut living up to it's name. Felt warm and inviting, from the folks at the counter to the beach decor. There is an excellent selection of food and drinks and my Hobie sandwich was absolutely delish! My partner and I both lived in SoCal in earlier years and we both totally felt transported as we sat in the back section with the private booths that each have a surf board for a table and even your own tv and remote.“
“This was our first time, and the food was delicious! We had the chicken fried rice special. The chicken was well seasoned and tender, the rice was toothsome and perfectly cooked, and the egg rolls were freshly fried and tasty. The service was friendly and fast. We will definitely come here again!“
“This is an OG Portland business going strong since 1978. If you like your cold cuts nitrate free and cut to order, then this is the place for you. Be sure to grab a number and a basket near the door before heading back to the meat counter! It's a small place, with a European feel. Bring some patience if you go on a Saturday. It takes time to slice orders, but there are also at least five or so staff to help you. Just breathe it in... literally, because it smells so good! They have delicious cheeses and breads, Milka chocolate (and other goodies), and a small selection of locally made desserts. There is a sit down area for eating the various sandwiches and sausages they offer from their deli. Cold drinks are on hand, even coke from Mexico with real sugar. Wines and beers are available as well. Do not come here if you are looking for low fat or vegan options! You have been warned. Everything I have ever tried from Edelweiss has been top notch.“

Weather or not we're there with a little, or a lot of cash to play the lottery, eat, or just to purchase a pack of cigarettes. We are treated kindly, every time.
