The Chicken Filet was my favorite but I also fancied the Fish Pompano and the Lemon mint juice. The desserts were astonishing my personal favorite was the Dubai chocolate Milkshake. The food was enough to make me write a review but the service and interior of the restaurant made sure it was gonna be a 5 star… Honestly if I could give a restaurant 10 stars this would be the one. Lastly the service, this restaurant is family owned and our waiter was named Sully and he made us feel like we were part of the family. “Oh wow. I read reviews about this place online so we made a visit when we first arrived in Portland tonight. There was only seating at the bar and that was fine as it was last minute and this place was booked up. The service was great, the drinks just perfect and the food - excellent! My husband was skeptical at first but the more he ate, the happier he was! The heirloom tomato dish with one of the foccacias is a must! We combined the prawns with a tagliatelle- delicious. The cocktails were well crafted and tasty. We will be back!“

“Hands down best shawarma wrap around. Guy and his son run the food cart and both are super nice and make the food good EVERY single time. I don’t go anywhere else at Cartside when I come to eat. Don’t get me wrong the other spots are good, but this spot is just top tier. Be sure to ask for the pomegranate molasses in your wrap, this is one of the few spots that has it and will add it for you. Always makes me smile when I get this food. A must try!“

“We each had a combo plate, which were very large, we could have easily share one and gotten some appetizers. The bread was so good- it was as if foccassia and pita /or Naan bread had a baby. The link sausages and their special Chevapi had such great flavor. You can really taste the mix of regional cultures in the food. it made me look up more about the region because I had no idea of the flavorful influences. Highly recommend!“

Gyro Bistro, located in SE Portland's new WonderLove, featuring a three-story bar and food cart pod, is a true gem! From the moment you arrive, the welcoming atmosphere and friendly food cart staff set the tone for a fantastic dining experience.

The gyros are absolutely phenomenal, but don't miss out on the baba ghanoush and grape leaves – they are simply to die for! The baba ghanoush is creamy and flavorful, while the grape leaves are perfectly seasoned and tender.

The food is fresh, delicious, and generously portioned. With reasonable prices and top-notch service, Gyro Bistro is a must-visit.

“One of my favorites in Metro area since I moved here. Very professional and friendly people. I really do like their foods. Had a great experience ! They have delicious gyros (I love their lamb gyro). The tabouli is amazing as well! Also they have delicious Hummus that I love. If you want to try the Mediterranean food such as gyro , felafel, hummus, and other stuff, do not miss this place!“

“The last time my wife and I ordered from Gyro House, I wasn't even writing for Yelp yet, meaning I shamefully didn't give this place the incredible praise that it deserves. There is no shortage of Mediterranean food options in Portland, from restaurants to street carts, but this one stands out among most of the rest, for several reasons, all of which I was reminded this last weekend. Here's the short list:

* Easily the best babaghanooj I've had anywhere. No contest. There's an "edge" to it that is not easily described - spiced by not spicy. Trust me on this one.

* Non-awful falafels; these ones are actually soft and moist, and not the hard, dry kind you get elsewhere.

* Kafta kabobs that are grilled perfectly, giving it that rugged, savory char flavor.

* Flavorful tzatziki drizzled in correct proportion, without making everything soggy.

* Fantastically tart, mouth-tingling hummus that has you coming back for more, again and again!

In fact, the only point on which I would knock them is the sadly deficient number of included pita bread pieces: two is simply not enough for a two-person vegetarian mezza platter!

Out of all the tzatziki-slingers in the area, Gyro House is the best for a quick, grab-and-go Mediterranean meal that competes, and defeats, just about every other competitor. I could eat this five days in a row and not get tired of it...and I am sorely tempted to head back there again tonight! Lord help me!
