“Ended 2023 with Linner (lunch/dinner) at Squatchsami (eating in the Outpost). Wonderful Lingcod Fish and Chips and WORLD CLASS Clam Chowder (and got some Chicken for later). Oh, and they have Ice Cream and Cookies and other treats in the Outpost. Good People running it as well. Debbie is a kick and Ken cooks like a mad man (but loves it). Best to order online to make sure they have not sold out. They often do.”

“This place was fantastic. Super friendly staff, delicious food, good beers on tap, fantastic views. Very vegan-friendly menu, with excellent fried / chewy tofu especially. We got Tom Kah soup and pad see ew with tofu. Unfortunately I didn’t get a picture of the food, it was too delicious and I ate it too quick. “Received top notch service from José. He was patient, kind and informative. Love how down to earth he was. Even the hostess asked if we wanted to be seated with José the second time we went because of our interaction with him. The atmosphere was nice (customers, staff, restaurant and the waterfalls on the window). The food was good enough that I returned again. I really enjoyed the cod with their tarter sauce; best tarter sauce I've ever had. The seafood pasta also wasn't bad, I learned it's a crowd favorite. I recommend this place.”

“Great little hole in the wall Burger joint, we usually go to the Lincoln City one and prefer it for the decent amount of seating. This one has only 4 tiny tables for 2 and their exhaust must have issues, we were just in there for 15min, but smell like part of the kitchen (clothes, hair everything). The burgers are great though and service was friendly.”

“I have never eaten an oyster I’ve liked until I came here. The oysters in black bean and ginger sauce were AMAZING. The broth it came in was fantastical, and the entrees were even better with the Mongolian stir fry and crispy chicken coming out piping hot and really tasty. “The best place in Newport Oregon on the Oregon coast to have their chili and their clam chowder. “The food is so good. I love the Shepards pie, chicken pot pie, and they even have a black bean burger which I love. I am not a fan of other alternative none meat burgers. It's all really good. The atmosphere inside is great and on a nice day they have a lovely patio.”

“Zach's Bistro was a revelation.We were expecting a rather ordinary meal and received the most interesting and well-prepared meal that I have had in years. I say "interesting" in the sense that everything had something unexpected or a twist on the usual that was both wonderful and surprising.Best of all, everything was gluten free and safe for me to eat.The chestnut soup, clam chowder, fried market fish, potatoes, squash, and perfectly cooked broccolini were all terrific. Even the butter tasted more "buttery" than any we've ever had. There seemed to be an excessive use of sprouts as garnish for my taste, but I'm not a fan of sprouts in any form.The food was served at the right temperatures and the main course plates were warmed. (I appreciate that very much.)The decor is unexceptional and the ambience is a bit spare, but the music was delightful and at a nice low volume, unlike too many places.The bill was surprisingly low for the quality of food and service we received.We plan to come down to Newport more often just to enjoy Zach's Bistro.Highly recommended.Dietary restrictions: Zach's Bistro is an excellent place for celiacs and the gluten intolerant. The ramen had organic pork and organic noodles. First of all, the flavor was wonderful. The food came out hot and fresh. I would have taken more pictures but we ate it so fast because it was amazing! My kids loved all of it. We did ask for anything spicy on the side and they were happy to do so. The staff was super friendly, knew the menu items in and out, did a wonderful job. They do have gluten free options. They change their menu with the seasons and I can't wait to go back for their spring menu!”
