Wonderful dining, great staff and fantastic food! Worth the $$
The food and the service was excellent!!
The best Italian food! Everything is made fresh and is absolutely incredible. My favorite red sauce for sure. The first time I went there was probably around 15-20 years ago and I had their pizza...WOW is all I can say. So yummy!!! I've also had their baked pasta dishes and they are honestly the best baked pastas I've ever had. DeNicola's Italian Restaurant is a beloved family-owned spot in Portland that has been serving delicious Italian food since the 1970s. The restaurant offers a warm, homey atmosphere, making guests feel like they are dining in a family kitchen. The service is friendly and prompt, with staff speaking Italian and providing attentive care. The menu includes a variety of Italian favorites, with standout dishes like the “linguini by the sea” and mushroom with cream sauce tortellini, both praised for their flavor. The pasta dishes are especially loved, and the homemade minestrone soup and cannoli filling receive high praise for their quality. Guests also enjoy the antipasto, which could improve slightly, and a side salad with robust Italian dressing.
DeNicola’s is known for its deep dish pizzas, which many consider the best they’ve had in a long time. The pizza features a flavorful thick crust, generous toppings, and is often highlighted as a meal in itself. Despite being a bit pricey, many find the quality worth the cost, especially for takeout. The restaurant is accommodating, able to host large parties on short notice, and offers late dinner hours, closing at 10 pm on weekends. Overall, DeNicola’s is appreciated for its consistent good food, welcoming environment, and a sense of tradition, making it a favorite spot for locals seeking classic Italian comfort food.
