Safe and comfortable place to relax and work, when you need a place in a pinch to get some things done or just a place to unwind... nice find! Great staff... ALL VOLUNTEERS! Many businesses need to have their staff experience being served here, these people are volunteers and are respectful, cheerful, and nice; yet most paid servers here in Portland are not so respectful, cheerful, or nice, and are usually loudly complaining about their jobs. EASTSIDE COFFEE IS AWESOME!
Great workspace with chill mellow background music. Has a variety of seating options, including living room chairs, tables 2 to 6 people and long wall counters. They've added a breakfast sandwich witch is nice and the lattes are good quality, friendly staff.
Update: Lowkey will never visit again. I’ve been there for like 40 times because it has good work environment and is clean. Until I had an unpleasant convo with barista due to their covert aggression. I got a blasphemous tattoo (as a black metal fan) recently so I’m scared to go back. I keep the five star reviews because the environment and coffee are good.

Annex Coffee is a great neighborhood coffee shop and community space. It has good coffee, a great latte, and a wonderful spot to work with Wi-Fi, a printer, and quiet private booths with power outlets. The atmosphere is 10 stars, with very mellow music, very warm ambience with soft lighting, a wood ceiling, warm tones, and tons of plants. The service and staff are great, super friendly, and make you feel right at home. They offer yummy pastries and a new breakfast sandwich with a housemade sausage fennel patty which is really quite delicious at a reasonable price. The space is ample, welcoming, and inspiring for work or creative space. They always feature local artists on their walls and host crafts/artist markets. The café is connected to a church, open on weekdays, and has phone booths for private calls. Plenty of space to work and easy to park.
