Disappointed with myself for missing the Ramen place in little Tokyo(LA), this was to satiate my craving. It really hit the spot. Popped in just before the shut down for their lunch/dinner reset, and we were the only customers. This place looks like a modern ramen shop, with open kitchen and counter bar seating. The service was excellent. I was practically the only person there. The staff was friendly. The atmosphere was not warm. But it's a cold blustery day and the door was a little drafty. It'd be nice if there was some kind of heat source inside here to make it feel cozy. I know that's difficult with an open kitchen because it might be an overheating for the cooks. In terms of the ramen itself, I have to say that I did not have the authentic noodles and had their gluten-free version....read full review

I've tried so many ramen spots in Portland and many of them come off as cheap and inauthentic. Not Hapa, though. They're consistently great and occasionally add something to the menu that will also, without fail, be incredible. Frankly, it's my favorite ramen in Portland.
