As soon as I walked up to the counter, I got super friendly service. While I was trying to figure out what to get, the guy working offered me a sample and was really welcoming.
I ended up going with the Hawaiian pulled pork sandwich (not totally sure of the exact name on the menu, but you can't miss it). It was amazingly good. The bun paired so well with the pineapple and pulled pork, and you could tell all the ingredients were high quality.

The Volcano sandwich is perfection with pulled pork. Absolutely delicious. My wife kept stealing bites every time I put the sandwich down. The slaw is also good. Lastly, the food comes in a hurry. You will get your food before anyone else in your group at the Q.
Enjoyed the ribs. Cute inside food court near Hollywood theater.

The Hot Box BBQ - Hollywood Q, located inside the Hollywood Q food hall, offers barbecue with spot on great flavor and good smoke. The ribs are insane, perfect, and the best available in Portland. They are meaty, huge, and fall off the bone with deeply flavorful meat. The sauce is spectacular and perfectly balanced sweet and savory. The classic sandwiches, pulled pork Mowie Wowie sammy, Volcano, and Classic pulled pork sammies are also available. Buns are soft and fresh thanks to Dos Hermanos bakery next door. The potato salad was bland for some but great for others. The slaw is loved. The space is welcoming and the service friendly. The owner is super sweet, charismatic, and a fantastic pit master. The food is a beautiful blend between cultures, blending different textures, tastes, and spices beautifully. Highly recommend if in the area.
