We have always had excellent sevice at this location. Always great staff but this night was a bit off. We were seated and had our orders taken for our drinks but didn't see our waitress for 20 minutes. Our food came and our steaks were overdone. We sent them back and 15 minutes later, they came back too rare. We ended up having the rest of our food boxed up, we were exhausted. We had such a wonderful waiter. Appreciated his care and he's been dedicated to that place for over 17 years. Works hard and helps keep M & C classic with great food. Good service and a great bar area to sit in. Summer there with the patio is lovely too! Will always go back.

This is a portland institution that has seen better days. We had a reservation for 6:30 but were told they were booked and we would have to wait. Then another couple came in, said the same thing to a different hostess and got seated right away. I spoke up and she just looked confused. We waited 20 minutes more for a table.
