“I come yearly for training and tend to find a new place to eat everyday. This place after one visit I knew would be in my future visits. I had based off of prior reviews as a deciding factor for chosing this place. This is my 3rd time coming to Portland and let me say, this is the only restaurant I have decided to visit twice as the food is really that good, especially if you are a seafood person. The ciopinno will not let you down.“
“Went for cocktails, which were lovely and not crazy expensive. Food, including oysters and a small plate of cheese ended up costing over 70 per couple averaging three drinks for two. Great environment. Nice staff. Just seemed pretty pricey for food. But, who am I kidding? I never go out anymore!“
“My go to local brunch spot. Best michelada around- awesome homemade hot sauce/ salsas. Chilaquiles, enchiladas, omelettes, breakfast hash, etc….. classic/authentic oxacan- great drinks and awesome service. Oh and very well priced!Kid-friendliness: Kids pancakes are solid!“
“Food, as always, was perfect. Service, however, was really poor. A party of 2, we waited for 45 minutes after finishing salads for prime rib and chopped sirloin to be served. In all we were there for about 2 hours. Not what we intended or expected. The Cole Train was moving slow for us. Others around us came and went with great regularity. Not a great experience.“
“Fish and chips were a bit burnt... it's also usually a wait because there's just a couple tables on a blacktop covered patio (which personally I'm fine with but could be a bit lacking in ambiance for some). I think I'll pass on a full meal here next time but would come back for oysters and a drink. The market was almost sold out of fresh shellfish before dinnertime on a weekend- so come early if you're looking to buy some oysters for home.“
“Hate the use of plastic on non-liquid to-go containers! I cut down my orders by 75% because of it. So wasteful - I loved the paper compostable containers that were used previously. How about reusable containers that we borrow and bring back? What's sustainable about your to go containers at this point? As a sustainable business you should do better! Ugh so bummed!Otherwise...Great sushi with sustainable fish. They will make traditional rolls but they're not on the menu. No yellowtail/hamachi. There's a burger for the non-fish eater. Not a kid friendly spot. More upscale. House music and 45m waits on weekend nights. My favorite locations are Alberta and Downtown.Dietary restrictions: The restaurant is mostly gluten free - even the tempura and soy sauce!Parking: Parking can be a challenge especially on weekends and the more apartment buildings go up.“
“This is the 3rd time I've been to this restaurant and I continue to be impressed. It just has a good vibe and the food is great. I also like how the owner comes around to make sure his guests are happy. That's a nice touch that most restaurants don't have.“
“This place is always 100 percent spot on. The service, food and staff are top notch. If you have ever seen the show “The best thing I ever ate”, this restaurants Cesar salad is 100%. The best one I have ever eaten. If you want a perfect dining experience, I strongly suggest the rack of lamb(medium rare)and Cesar salad. Perfection.“
“We visited Dan & Louis Oyster Bar during their Happy Hour. We went specifically for the oysters. We also made a reservation, but when we got there, there were plenty of tables available. We got seated immediately and got our drink orders taken within minutes. The Happy Hour prices seemed pretty good so we ordered a beer, the 2 orders of the oysters on the half-shell, calamari, and fish tacos. The restaurant was warm and inviting, definitely had a nautical vibe to it. We were seated near a corner window, which was nice since it was a rainy evening in Portland. Our food didn't take too long to come out.The oysters were delicious. We enjoyed them all! The presentation wasn't the best, which I know is a big deal for some people, but it isn't important to us. We care more about the flavor, and we were pleased. The price was amazing, of course, for Happy Hour. The calamari was good, and the fish tacos were okay. Overall, the ambience, the happy hour price, and the food, make it a place worth visiting!I would love to come back for more oysters and try more items from their menu. I'm keeping this place in mind for the next time I'm in Portland and craving some good raw oysters!“
“Guillermo was an amazing waiter! I will be coming back just from the service we’ve received from him! Above and beyond!12oz Steak was fanatical! Well prepared and well portioned. The lobster tail was well prepared and tasted delicious. The atmosphere was a little busy and Guillermo was straight forward with everything. Guillermo made the experience wonderful, with our first visit, his presence alone will make us return for another great experience.“
“Ordered the chicken sandwich and potato salad. Both were surprisingly complex and delicious. Guy at the window was friendly. The only seating here was benches outside so we took it to go since it was cold. Can’t wait to try the rest of the menu! Everyone in my group loved it.“
“Excellent food & friendly, knowledgeable service. We asked for wine recommendations and they were all spot-on and delicious (and quite generous with the pours). If I had to choose one adjective for Davenport it might be "unaffected"--everything was done very well, without preciousness or pretense. Thanks for a lovely dinner, we'll definitely be back.“
“I have been here often, not as regular lately. This time service was OK. Our waiter didn't tell us specials or ask if we wanted bread. Food wasn't as good either. I had French Onion soup, except it didn't have onions? My salmon was good and the green beans with carrots was excellent. Have to think before spending this type of money for an just OK dinner.Previous visit. It's one of my favorite restaurants in Downtown Portland. Consistently great food, mostly fish, good steak too. There are not many vegetarian options. I had the Etouffee. My bride had salmon, rice, and green beans. She also had the house salad, I chose the wedge with blue cheese crumbles and bacon bits. We didn't have room for dessert. A very pleasant experience. It does get busy as the night goes on. I recommend reservations for a table after 5:45.Vegetarian options: Not much. A few salad items, one menu item.Kid-friendliness: More of an adult place, romantic or for business meals.“
“My partner and I spent our Valentine's Day dinner here. It was a nice experience and I'd return for another special occasion. The food was extremely fresh and well prepared. Mi Cava exceeded all of my expectations. My partner, who is very particular about any place we dine, also had a wonderful experience. The service alone was excellent. The menu kicked everything up a notch on the flavor scale. The drinks were well balanced and strong with a few surprising twists. Well done!“
“We were lucky enough to get an amazing outside table at paella night. What a wonderful experience and evening with great drinks and great food. We only wished they had introduced themselves or said a few words about their background and why they do paella night.“
“Simply the most deliciously decadent pasta I have ever had! I only wish this place was not a hot spot for rich older men with no morals. I am SO glad I chase my own food and reviews because hands down the best pasta of my life like desert island food! Yum yum yum 10/10 get soup and dessert too! THE BEST ITALIAN IN TOWN. The food here absolutely will comfort any bad feelings you've had in your entire life. Carbonarra! If you like remaking authentic dishes with a twist you can reheat it and add cinnamon. ? let's fill Gino's with MORE people! Historic Sellwood is a great day trip and Gino's a great place to end it at. Wine and cocktail selection are large but I can't really speak to it.Vegetarian options: If you simply cannot eat animals they still have THE best food ever and lots of options!Parking: Parking is a little tricky next to the door cause they have a really nice new patio area with live music sometimes but there's ample parking on side streets-- one of a few neighborhoods still good for that as the inhabitants don't like "McMansions"“
“My husband mainly has become a regular and I get to join him on the occasion. From the kitchen staff, waiters and owner everyone makes you feel at home. The oysters and beans and rice are some of the highlights if you can believe it. If you’re in town and wanting oysters don’t hesitate to make this your first stop!“
“Really unique restaurant in Multnomah Village. It's sort of like a food cart with some indoor and outdoor seating, each room with a unique theme..The kitchen is kinda spread out throughout the restaurant. The owner is really cool and super friendly. The bentos we had were really good as well. I've never seen a restaurant set up quite like this but the eclectic nature of it screams Portland. We will be back.“
“We stopped off at SeaSweets on a recent trip to Portland and hands down, they make the best poke bowls I've ever had. I am not easily impressed when it comes to seafood bowls, but SeaSweets has a very pleasant staff serving really high quality fish, delicious sauces, and toppings for days. Absolutely phenomenal.“
“I have not tried the food, I picked up an order for delivery. The staff is friendly. The young lady who helped is super friendly and helpful. They have a super clean establishment. The men’s restroom was the cleanest restroom in Oregon. I mentioned the clean restroom and the young lady mentioned she cleaned it. Give her a big raise for keeping the place so clean.“
“Amazing. Light, flaky fish. Tasty clam strips, balanced tartar sauce, amazing attitude. Clam chowder sooo good too! I can't get over this crunchy light breading. So so good!!! Also, the guy who answers the phone is super nice- Try this place!!!“
“Nice selection of local beers (I’m not from this area, but I liked what I had). Good typical seafood that was presented in a kind of super-fancy way. The clam chowder had clams in the shell and gnocchi instead of potatoes. Was it necessary to do it this way? Probably not. But tasty. The fish and chips had the best cod I’ve had in fish and chips. The breading on the fish was more like a delicate tempura than typical fish and chips breading. Once again, very fancy treatment of typical bar seafood. Nice bartender.“
“Our family loves this place. The clam chowder and poke are so good. I'd take this chowder over Ivars or Mo's any day!! My kids had their first oyster here!! Ownership is great and really friendly. Will happily continue to support our favorite local seafood truck.“
“After my adventures with baris and JJs in the piedmont food carts (see my other reviews) I said to hell with it and got what my wife was having even though I worked for a seafood house for 6 years. Cod 2 piece, came quick and hot and seasoned perfectly. Only complaints is cocktail was like 80% horseradish, and slaw wasn't salted enough but it's a fine line because if you over salt it pulls more moisture from the slaw. I also would've liked my fish done a little more since it was cold out since the moisture caused it to get soggy quickly but it was done and more of a preference thing. Good job for someone who doesn't like seafood that much“
“I highly recommend the Xiao Long Bao; the rich soup and generous filling make it almost perfect. The dry-fried green beans have a rich flavor, and the hot and sour soup is delicious too. Their egg drop soup is a favorite among kids. We also ordered the assorted fried noodles, which had plenty of ingredients and a large portion size. However, some of the pan-fried dumplings(紅油抄手) were overcooked and the skin was too soft. The dry pot series is also highly recommended; we tried the dry pot intestine. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the food here. However, the service is just okay and could be better."“
“This has become our fave spot for birthday dinners with friends. We love the Carne Asada, it has a wonderful presentation and the carne salsa itself it good quality and tastes great. I love how it comes with the quesadilla & queso fresco! We also enjoy their Torre de Mariscos. It might not look like much, but once you tear it down, it becomes a lot! I also really enjoy their tacos de asada. They come with freshly made tortillas and their salsas are very decent. Their drinks are fun and good too. We love their micheladas and the guava piña colada. My girlfriends really enjoy their cantarito & margaritas. Rachel (from Cuba), our server one day in late December is the best. She is super attentive, friendly and welcoming. The prices are a little on the higher end, but it’s worth it.“
“Excellent. Sweet and sour chicken, chow mien, general tso chicken. One of the best I’ve ever had at a neighborhood Chinese restaurant. We ordered delivery and it came hot and packaged well. I’ve had Chinese in Seattle, Portland, and Paris. This one ranks highest for me.Nice work! Glad you’re in the hood!“
“I've been eating here since it was the viking Cafe and it's a different kind food now but I'm a pescatarian so I don't have to drive to the coast to have fresh seafood. It's right here in town prepared just the way I like it ?“
“I was going to dine at another restaurant but i came here because the other location was very stuck up in my opinion and not worth it. I came to Ruth Chris and had zero problems. I have no issue paying for fine dining but that place was ridiculous. The sea bass here was divine and the bar tender made my Brandy Alexander perfect without hesitation.“
“I was hesitant to try another mariscos place in the area after trying a place that wasn’t very good, but I’m glad I gave Mariscos Tinto Del Mar a chance because they did not disappoint. I had the aguachiles Rojas - which were bien chiloso, pero bien rico. Más chingon el Mariscos Tinto Del Mar.“
“Nice atmosphere with quick service and friendly staff and wait time was fast and food was very good would come back againKid-friendliness: Kid friendly environment with a nice atmosphereWheelchair accessibility: You can enter both ways with the wheelchair“
“Family dinner .. sharing sizes on the appetizers.. really nice because we all enjoyed samples of the various tapas we ordered. The fried smelt was so delicious. Also, the papas bravas were so good I wanted a bowl for myself ;) Very good wine selection. I think the main dishes are pricey. I ordered seafood paella which was loaded with delicious sea food. A little oily for my taste but everyone else seemed pleased ? with their choices. Very comfortable atmosphere. Our server was very nice and the kitchen efficient. I hope you have a good time at Can-Font.. we certainly did!“
“Amazing! Most restaurants don’t know how to prepare razor clams but this one does! The crab leg shooters are unique and flavorful! Dale is hands down the best server I have ever had! Try the coconut cream pie, it’s delicious, and will remind you of pie from an old school pie house.“
“Great chill vibes, with fantastic food. I observed families and parties at the table, though my solo experience at the bar was top notch. Thanks to Hyacinth in particular for the curated drink suggestions and general vibe curationDietary restrictions: Very Accommodating for gluten free options“
“This place is so super delicious and cute! The customer service rocked & an awesome place to go on a budget! I especially loved that I came on Thursday and got 2-for the price of 1 freshly made Boba smoothies ? Delicious southern-meets- asian cuisine! Come and get it! Yummm!“
“I had a lovely experience at Normadie. I had the Chicories salad and Gnocchi… the salad was absolutely delicious, the Gnocchi was yummy, however my personal preference is Italian classic potato gnocchi. I had never had the French Parisienne made with choux pastry, for me it lacked flavor but the texture was nice, light and fluffy. And the short rib Ragu was tangy and tasty. The meal hit all taste buds.“
“The dim sum is good but like most dim sum restaurants, it can get really busy and service can get slow but that's understandable. Crowds stack up fast on weekends so try to get there early or be prepared to wait for a table. I'd say it's the best dim sum in town but it's not like there's too many dim sum options in Portland.“
“I got a medium pad kee mao and loved the variety of vegetables as well as the fact that the wide rice noodles were not overcooked. Their mango sticky rice is one of the best I've ever had! I have not been able to find mangoes this ripe and sweet in a while. And of course, the staff are so hospitable and kind. I'll definitely be back!“
“Best bao zi and Xiao long bao I have had. Everything that I have tried off the menu I would order again. My family and I love to eat here every few weeks, the staff is always nso nice. The beef scallion pancake and fried rice noodles are great.“
“I actually dream about their crab in between visits. The large order is the perfect size for sharing and at an utterly reasonable price. The owner is a doll- a genuinely good person who will treat you right and feed you even better. The tables nearby have heaters in the winter and shade in the summer. Highly recommend!“
“Y'all!!! My boyfriend surprised me with fish and chips from this place and OMG. The food reminded me of home!! The perfectly seasoned cornmeal breading, CLEAN catfish, sweet corn hushpuppies, and even the hot sauce...I couldn't quite tell if it was Louisiana Hot Sauce or Krystal, but ALL of it. Was. PERFECT. I literally had my fat kid dance going in my chair the whole time I was eating! ??This might just be my new favorite place!!! I will DEFINITELY be going there again soon to try out the rest of the menu (and get some more of that catfish!).“
“So Jarana is actually the kitchen inside of the bar, Lulu. It was a bit confusing when we first walked by and were trying to figure out where it was. We ordered the saltado with steak and the ceviche as well. The steak was soooo tender. The sauce had good umami flavor. The fries were crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. Rice had such a good seasoned flavor. I will think about this dish for a while. The ceviche was also really good. I loved the mango and passion fruit to add sweetness. I didn't expect fried fish and fish chicharrones. So yummy. It might be a bit pricey, but the food is SO good!“
“I have never been to this place in all my life. But today I was at the seafood store next door to this restaurant and I was hungry, so my dad and I decided to check out this place. Our waitress gave us a nice table, and we ordered our food. It came surprisingly quickly and it was delicious. We couldn't finish all the food, so we took it home.In all, this was perfect experience. Customer service was exelent, and the exterior is majestic. It is like you have been transported to another country for a little time if you life.I recommend that everyone come to this restaurant. Trust me, you will not regret it.“
“You can't go wrong with anything you order here. One of my favorite dishes is the head on grilled shrimp with rice. It's soo flavorful and succulent. They sell fast so you've got to get them early. Another favorite of mine is the mussels. I love the creamy sauce and cheese on them. It's so different and I enjoy eating them with the rice. If you like Mac and cheese, you're going to love theirs. We ordered just the plain Mac for the kids and we all loved it so much we ended up ordering the lobster Mac the following time. It's one of the best we've ever had, so creamy. The boil bags are amazing of course! So much buttery goodness and the seasoning is They're just killing it over here and I give them mad props for their addicting dishes.“
“I have been loving this place. Moved to the area a few months ago, and have been so grateful to the Tik Tok restaurant. The food is great. Served how you want/order it. Timely. Good portions (i ususally end up taking half home, especially with breakfast). Tastes great. The service is awesome. Real people who are personable, can read the room, aren't pushy, but keep attentive. Reasonable prices. Bar inside. Booths or bar seating. Parking lot with lots of parking. 24 hours!!! So grateful for the 24 hrs!!! Highly reccomend if you're in the mood for a diner breakfast or some fun conversation with strangers over drinks. I'll be back, even after I move along.“
“Probably some of the best Chinese I’ve ever had. The hot and sour soup is excellent!! The portions are large and the quality of the meat and vegetables is great! Not only is the food excellent, but the staff is friendly and fast! Prices are very reasonable too. I’ll be back!!!“
“Small local business next to Central downtown St. John's. Reasonable prices for large portions; lunch specials. Quick service for dine in and takeout. I really enjoy the panang curry and the pad see ew. For less adventurous souls the yakisoba and Thai peanut noodle are great dishes for people new to the cuisine. I always get Thai tea in the summer but I also enjoy the hot tea when I dine in. I am not partial to seafood textures but the flavor was great and I even tasted a scallop and enjoyed it. Spring rolls are served with a tasty peanut sauce. I recommend eating family style a dish selected by each person because I have yet to try anything I wouldn't order again!Vegetarian options: Tofu and veggie available for all rice and noodle dishesKid-friendliness: Perfectly suitable for restaurant ready kids; high chairs availableWheelchair accessibility: Seating is largely chairs and some benches-- mobility devices fit inside with ease“
“The bar was seedy in a comforting way, like I knew that we weren't getting robbed, the ppl who ran the place are way scarier. I wanted food because it smelled Wonder full. The lady the bartender lady was so sweet very attentive and accommodating how bartender treat the poor people is what determines whether or not I come back0“
“Just got my food, everything was so delicious! Beyond my expectations they went above and beyond. I greatly appreciate this establishment and the staff. I will definitely be returning here as a customer. I highly recommend this place, no disappointment here! Thank you again golden horse. ❤️?“
“Jacqueline was the first place we ate during our trip to Portland and it was a great start to what was to come. The happy hour oysters are an unbeatable deal, $1 per oyster, and you can order up to a dozen per person. Their house made vinegars and hot sauces were delicious. The tempura brussels sprouts and crab toast were also delicious and were very indulgent. The restaurant itself was super cozy. We got there a few minutes after they opened and there were already a lot of tables, so definitely make a reservation or come early.“
