Viking Soul Food Reviews
Great food, great people, great service - Viking Soul Food is so good. The new location is in a Portland neighborhood with lots of friendly foot traffic, too. Fun in the old food truck, and still fun in a permanent location.
If you’ve been binging Vikings and want to keep the party going, this is the place! Finally got to check them out last night and really loved it. Lefse wraps are brilliant, their hand pie special would have gotten a Hollywood Handshake on Scandinavian Week, and their pickled eggs with salmon roe: addictive. I’ll be back to eat my way through everything I didn’t get to try this time.
The pickled eggs with salmon roe!

Based on the reviews, Viking Soul Food is a gem with authentic, unique food. The cozy interior has iconic Norwegian imagery, but it is a small restaurant with very limited seating. The food is excellent and always delicious and hearty. Customers recommend the salmon savory wrap, the polse savory wrap, the meatball lefse wrap, the lingonberry sweet wrap, and the root vegetable champ. The lingonberry iced tea ties it all together. Everything bursts with flavor, and there are vegetarian options too. The staff are genuinely friendly and helpful, providing fast service even near closing time. The establishment is clean and offers a wonderful atmosphere. It never disappoints, making it a magical spot for a relaxing meal.
