“This place is my morning jam. Coffee, cookies, breakfast food, and you always get service with a smile. 10/10 would recommend as your new go-to. Also, I called in a big food order ahead of time the other day, and it worked like a charm - food was hot, and so were my coffees. My kiddo is always asking me - Dad, can we go to the coffee shop this morning because Amanda makes the best hot chocolate?“

“Such a FIND! This bakery/coffee shop/antiques/cool new stuff store is quintessential Oregon coast. We enjoyed the cinnamon roll while sitting by the cozy fireplace, and met owner, Ruby, who is an absolute gem of a human! She has done an incredible job thoughtfully curating the items offered, both for shopping and offered in the bakery cases. We have been there twice now, and it's hard to choose favorites since literally everything is delicious! The pink-iced sugar cookie may share top-spot with the cinnamon roll. We just love this place--thank you, Ruby!“

“Great place to get a coffee in Newport.Pros: great folks and great coffee. I loved their "signature" on top of the coffee. “I feel like we hit this place on an off day with high hopes for the best coffee on the coast. Our coffees were light and not aromatic at all. The coffee tasted watered down. And that was disappointing. I thought it was just my hubby’s mocha but my latte was off too.The barista was excellent though and very friendly! Hoping to try this place again in the coming days to have a better cup.“

“Very pleasantly surprised with this spot! My boyfriend and I were passing through on a road trip from Canada. We got two breakfast burritos, two donuts and an iced coffee beverage and everything was absolutely delicious and the service was very friendly! Definitely will be back next time we are passing through! I believe the donut I got was called the dirty bird if I remember correctly, yeast donut, fudge topping with oreo and marshmallow cream and it was so good!“

Sylvia Beach Hotel Coffee Shops
267 NW Cliff St, Newport - 6.17 miles

“My partner and I went to Sylvia's for dinner. She stayed there some years back and told me all about the author themed rooms and having stayed there, but I can't comment on them. I can comment on the dinner and the general ambience of the place. And what a place! From the moment of walking in through the front door and being greeted by a cat, meeting others who have gathered for the feast and then being ushered into a dining room with large common tables, there is a feeling of calm excitement, such as one gets when reading a good book. The large tables were set for eight, pick your own spot. Coat and hat racks were located in a hallway - no having to hang your coat on your chair! We started with selecting from a menu of wines, appertifs, beer or non-alcoholic "mocktails" and ciders. One person at our table had the house special and noted it was very tasty - and it looked it too! Glad they offered NA items, but I like beers and settled on a pale ale from The Good Life breweryin Bend, Oregon. My partner got the "chef's selectionsl" - a selection of three wines to go with the courses, starting with a white with the first, then a red for the main, and a port for dessert. Very nice indeed! The food was placed on our table in bowls which we passed around. We had squash soup - which was served from a pitcher - and like I've never had a soup before! The main course consisted of stuffed mushrooms, mashed root vegetables with butter and rosemary and a plate of stuffing and a bowl of tempura vegetables - all passed around - and a plate of turkey (it was the day after Thanksgiving after all!) (This was our Thanksgiving day dinner - a day late, but who cares?)To top it all off was the gravy! Oh man oh man! Mushroom gravy like I've never had gravy before! Then dessert... Can anyone say Creme Broulee? Lemon tarts? Baked apples covered with crusty yummy raisins with (presumably) brown sugar and cinnamon??And a cup of "French Pressed" coffee to top it all off at the end? Whoa, dude!It was a pretty penny, but well worth it! We had good conversations, excellent food, and a very memorable evening. The cooks even came out and introduced themselves and received a round of applause. If you have the time (it was about one and a half to two hours from beginning to end) and opportunity, then you need to start making memories here. Oh, and by the way, did I mention the view of the Pacific Ocean? Because Sylvia's is built up on a bluff, well, need I say more? Spectacular!! (Plus, we all got to take a box of "leftovers" home. Very handy the next day!).Blessings everyone!Uncle AlRooms: The rooms are all themed on writers. (Not sure as I'd want to stay in the Edgar A. Poe room! I think there's a raven in there!)Nearby activities: The hotel is located just short blocks from the main shopping area of Nye Beach where there are galleries, shops, cafes, ice cream joints and even a greens dispensary.Walkability: The entire area is eminently walkable. There is reserved parking for guests of Sylvia's.Food & drinks: Among the best I've ever had! There are gifts and some sundries available downstairs in the lobby/library and music room area including teas, coffees and chocolates.“

Starbucks Coffee Shops • $$

“I like to treat myself to something from Starbucks when I make the drive in to Albany from Corvallis to get prescriptions at the CVS in this Target. Every time I have done so, I have been pleased with the friendly service. Sometimes they seem a bit understaffed for the level of busyness, but they have always apologized if wait seemed long and are efficient and attentive when it is my turn to order. I have always received the exact drink I ordered (I do have a more complicated order!) Actually, every employee I have interacted with at this Target, no matter the setting (pharmacy, checkout, Starbucks, etc.) is friendly.“

“2nd Update... This update is long overdue. But things have changed for the better. I give it five stars!!. Ten if Human bean would not have raised the prices. But the girls are consistently nice, and the coffee is still, consistently good. I really love going here now!!Update...I do like the coffee & the girls when they're being nice so it bothers me that i have to write this.Latley the attitude from a couple of the girls stinks and, 1 In particular. Not outright mean, I guess i would say indifferent & snotty. These girls used to be nice. It's caused me to wonder about the managements relationship with they're employees. Is it strained?.. Good management = good morale, good morale = happy employees. One girl is always nice, she has braces.I have consistently been a good tipper. I can't always tip but, i try to tip a $1 for each drink if, i can. I worked in bars and restaurants my entire life and, that's a DAMN good percentage. Especially in the wake of the financial strain that Covid has brought to many.Im always pleasant to you girls when im there. Often I will try out new drinks and I'll have questions. So, don't give me an attitude when I ask you what kind of nut milks you have. It's your job to know the menu, not mine. This is not about someone having the occasional bad day this has been happening more and more. From now on I will only tip if the service im getting dosen't leave me rolling my eyes out of disappointment...I miss Makayla?Old review...Girls are very nice most of the time and the drinks have been consistently good.“
