“I’ve been here three times and am always pleased with the service and prices. The scones are outstanding. The coffee drink options are many. Love that they had coconut milk for the mocha. The savory selections are great too. Advise getting here early as the best choices go fast. Inside seating for about ten, with a couple of tables outside. Just across the street from the Saturday Farmers market.“

“We are literally the first guests in the newly renovated hotel, the Hotel Sylvia on Nye Beach, Newport OR. As a confirmed hotel junkie, I am charmed by the setting, the attention to detail, its history and the book collection! Orignally built in 1909 and operated under many names, in 1984 it was renamed the Sylvia Beach Hotel for the owner of Shakespeare & Co. in Paris. Sylvia Beach first published James Joyce’s “Ulysses”. She became his friend and an amazing bookseller. The hotel has been extensively renovated, and honors Sylvia Beach with the literary theme and the book collection. If you stay here, I can pretty much guarantee that you will find something on the shelves that will make you say “Oh, I’ve always wanted to read that!”.“

“I am not perfect but try to maintain a diet that is predominantly vegan or vegetarian. I recently had a 2 day escape to the coast from the Portland area,and as I was going to be in Newport, researched vegan/vegetarian friendly restaurants in the area and ULTRALIFE popped up so after a visit to the Yaquina lighthouse, headed over there for lunch as they seemed to be one of the rare restaurants/cafes on the coast that availed appealing options. I had their fork over knives burrito. There is no table service. They just called my number when the food was ready. There wasn't too long of a wait, and it was delicious! The other surprise is that I had never heard of NYE beach and this area with its collection of quaint stores and restaurants around it ala Cannon Beach. OK the area doesn't have a Haystack, but you have noteworthy places to visit nearby like the Yaquina Lighthouse and Ocean Coast Aquarium! For me, also somewhat of a plus not to be completely overrun by tourists. And I feel the stores and restaurants were just as ..if not more appealing. I was so taken by ULTRALIFE that I came back for their vegan breakfast sandwich the next day. YUM once again. When I am in Newport again, definitely coming back there! ULTRALIFE and its neighboring establishments besides NYE Beach deserve your support!“

“visited this very cute coffee shop on the bayfront on November 30th 2024. Zoe went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied with our drinks.... she overheard our conversation that I had forgotten to ask for an alternate milk, even though she had already made my drink she offered to make it again for me with coconut milk for no extra charge... thank you again Zoe for your amazing customer service!! we will definitely be going back!“

“Large, open indoor seating area with some outdoor seats also available. Light and bright, chill vibe. Starbucks has gotten really expensive though! I never go to Starbucks but I was visiting town and really needed a piece of lemon loaf! ($4.75. Ouch)“

“Far better than my average McDonald's experience. Ordered 4 burgers with customizations, 2 without, a 20 piece and 2 large fries at around 1 pm on 8/3/2026. Received above average customer service, fries and nuggets were all hot and fresh without asking, and the burgers came exactly as ordered with all customizations correct.“

“My favorite coffee shop! Not only are they SO nice, but their coffee is delicious and always consistent. Their blended drinks are by far the best in town - so smooth they taste like a milkshake! Highly recommend the sleepy sailer (hot) or a blended peanut butter mocha 🤤“
