“My friend and I had lunch here on April 4th. The menu has so many interesting dishes it was hard to decided what to order. We had the small plate scallops, a dozen grilled oysters and shared the black cod salad. Everything was fantastic and prepared perfectly. I had their specialty "for a cause" cocktail Guardian Forest; I loved it. My friend had their bloody mary and said it was good. I was not bothered at all by the 20% add for service. The service was great and the food was delicious; so I would have tipped that anyways. I loved that there is fresh fish market and they also sell other products they make there, like the bloody mary mix, salad dressings, tartar sauce, salamon spread, etc. I look forward to returning again.“

“WOW! We drove out of our way to get your famous cinnamon rolls, and they were dry and stale. My wife had never tried one and I kept bragging how good they were. We bought three that day Feb. 28, 2025. Just lost a faithful customer who drives 30 minutes out of our way.“

“it is ok but for the price you think they would take their time to cook the proteins. the chicken, pork and salmon in my dishes were severely overcooked and the salmon not the best quality it was a bit fishy and old yet they still priced it as if it was fresh. if you are on the Oregon coast you shouldn't skimp on the seafood.“

“Had breakfast here at the end of our 3 day weekend in Newport. Have to say it was my favorite meal of our vacation. Great fresh food and friendly service. The avocado bene was delicious.“

“I am not perfect but try to maintain a diet that is predominantly vegan or vegetarian. I recently had a 2 day escape to the coast from the Portland area,and as I was going to be in Newport, researched vegan/vegetarian friendly restaurants in the area and ULTRALIFE popped up so after a visit to the Yaquina lighthouse, headed over there for lunch as they seemed to be one of the rare restaurants/cafes on the coast that availed appealing options. I had their fork over knives burrito. There is no table service. They just called my number when the food was ready. There wasn't too long of a wait, and it was delicious! The other surprise is that I had never heard of NYE beach and this area with its collection of quaint stores and restaurants around it ala Cannon Beach. OK the area doesn't have a Haystack, but you have noteworthy places to visit nearby like the Yaquina Lighthouse and Ocean Coast Aquarium! For me, also somewhat of a plus not to be completely overrun by tourists. And I feel the stores and restaurants were just as ..if not more appealing. I was so taken by ULTRALIFE that I came back for their vegan breakfast sandwich the next day. YUM once again. When I am in Newport again, definitely coming back there! ULTRALIFE and its neighboring establishments besides NYE Beach deserve your support!“

“Nothing happens when I click on the photo, it won’t let me load a photo of my black slimy translucent lettuce! The chalet is our go to restaurant for breakfast and lunch however, today I had a salad. It looked great, until I started eating it and got black, slimy, lettuce, and even the iceberg lettuce was mostly soggy. Some of the iceberg lettuce was even translucent, looking as if it had been frozen at one time. I would be humiliated to serve a disgusting salad like this one and not offering to replace the salad or remove the cost from the bill.“

Zoe went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied with our drinks.... she overheard our conversation that I had forgotten to ask for an alternate milk, even though she had already made my drink she offered to make it again for me with coconut milk for no extra charge... thank you again Zoe for your amazing customer service!! we will definitely be going back!“
