About McMenamins

The Black Rabbit Restaurant at McMenamins Edgefield offers a mixed dining experience. Many guests have enjoyed the crab dip and seafood dishes, while some have raised concerns about food temperature and service speed. The atmosphere, especially the courtyard seating on a warm summer evening, has been praised by visitors for being beautiful, quiet, and relaxing.

The restaurant is known for its delicious food, with the eggs Benedict, croissants, and halibut fish and chips receiving positive reviews. The ice cream, especially the berry flavor, has been a hit for dessert. The atmosphere is described as relaxing, beautiful, and warm, with low lighting contributing to a special experience.

Guests have remarked on the friendly staff, though there is room for improvement in food preparation and service quality. The cider and gift shop remain highlights for many visitors.

During the busy Thanksgiving holiday, the restaurant maintained a high level of service, with staff being patient and attentive despite the increased pressure. Guests appreciated the opportunity to enjoy a holiday meal without the hassle of cooking and cleaning up.

great, efficient service [for our group of 17]. The food was very good and the servers were accommodating and friendly.
Staff are great! Helpful with describing menu items to assist your choices. Poached eggs were perfect!
Reservations? I'm one that always makes reservations and cancellations if arriving late or not at all to respect the staff. It would be a good idea to allow people who made reservations be in a different line of reception than the forty or more people in front of us that don't and are still seated ahead of reservations and then we are now “late” by 15-20 minutes after watching most ahead of us being seated with out reservations. Do we really need reservations here?
