“I just tried this place for the first time today and was not disappointed! I was really craving teriyaki and scanned some places nearby. I was really grateful this place popped up because it is now one of my favorite places to eat. The service was excellent. The lovely lady answered all of our questions kindly and the whole place was clean and looked really pretty in the late afternoon sun. They had free egg flower soup for dine-in customers and our order didn’t take long at all to wait for. The food is so delicious I wish I would have bought more so I can have leftovers later :)“

They have a fairly creative fusion menu, though it leans more toward Southeast Asian food, and I was immediately captivated by the idea of a fettuccine pasta created with coconut milk. I thought it was a good dish and turned out to be exciting and unique. My partner got the chicken pad thai and thought it was also good. The restaurant was a bit dingy the day we came in, but overall still looked intriguing on the inside, and service was friendly as well. “Holy cow, probably among the best chinese food in town. I asked them to make a General Tso Tofu even though it's technically not on the menu, and I was blown away. The flavor is super complex with fresh ginger and garlic cloves and the tofu is soft and fluffy. Definitely the best restaurant on Macadam no question.“

“It has been a long time since I’ve gone to a teriyaki restaurant because my wife has resisted it. Our friends wanted to go here and, I was excited, and my wife agreed. We both had the chicken teriyaki lunch special, which come with chicken teriyaki on a bed of white rice, a side of either sweet and sour chicken or three pot stickers, and a small side salad with a house dressing. I just assumed the sweet and sour chicken was what I receive in a Chinese restaurant. Boy was I wrong! It was like way over cooked fried chicken. It was so hard that it was difficult to eat and there was absolutely no sweet or sour flavor. My wife said the pot stickers were soft but did not taste very good. Fortunately, the teriyaki chicken was very good and adding the sauce to the rice made the rice very good. The house sauce on the salad was very good. The lunch special came with a soft drink and the entire lunch was $13.50. The lady behind the counter was very nice but speaks Japanese and very little English. I tried to tell her the chicken was almost inedible but she had no idea what I was saying. We do not live in Portland so there is almost no chance we will eat there again but I would recommend the chicken teriyaki with fried rice, which our friends had and they said it was very good.“

Nice use of Sichuan peppercorns--everything warms the mouth without setting it on fire. I've had their mapo tofu, kung pao chicken, and beef with green onions. All very good.
