“Not the same as it was, but the new owner is passionate and the staff is top notch. I miss some of the charm of the old vibe, but the Pub is in the hands of someone who appears to care about the place, while following her own vision. Still one of the best spots to grab a Guinness, eat a little (good) pub food and share a good conversation.“

“Without a doubt, the best food and service you can ask for. You will not leave hungry or disappointed. It's been 20 years between visits, because I moved outta state. I couldn't wait to go back the first chance I could. Dave and Cathy are among the nicest people you'll ever meet. The fish sandwiches are huge and made to perfection.

“I was pleasantly surprised. Candles and warmth on tables . Very large and spacious. Creative cocktails. Decorated very pretty at Christmas. I loved the slivered thick cut fries. That was unexpected

“Dive bar vibe - Dark & Vintage. They're hot cheese balls were pretty good. They were not the best cheese curds that I have ever had, but they were decent. If you like your cheese curds extra cheesy, these are for you. We also got 2 burgers were which were extremely large, & cooked well done which wasn't very good. The fries were subpar and the chips were just plain generic ruffle chips -not made in house or anything. I would have loved another option to not have a side. This place was not super expensive which was cool but probably wouldn't come here again.“

“Haven't gone in years, turns out new owner, got the honey jalapeño boneless wings & were great. Bartender was nice and even enjoyed a chat with the manager on accident, nice people, good food, good experience. Got yelled at for smelling like smoke but you'll have that“

“This is the bar everyone wants to go to, it was packed out both times I went there, I ended up leaving the second time because there was no where to sit(at the bar). But the wings I had were super spicy and tasty, the service was good for how busy they were and the beer was flowing.“

“What a fun little spot to stop in for a drink before & after an event. We dropped by for the 1st time b4 the Pens game (& after if course). The owner Jimmy was so gracious, so friendly to talk with. The crowd wasn't too bad (we even started taking to a few other PENs fans, that was nice) , the food was really good. So if you're looking for a good place to hang out, grab a bite & a drink be sure to stop at Shale's. I know I'll definitely be back.“
“I ate before arriving, so I didn’t have any of the food. But the kitchen was pumping out orders the entire time I was there. Drinks were generous with alcohol. Bartender was nice. Atmosphere was light, like I came with one friend felt like I knew everyone else I encountered. Good music choices were made on the jukebox. I enjoyed myself.“

“Brillo is a sweet, nostalgic place for the millennial soul. For those in this camp it remains the same ‘2000s cool’ aesthetic w lively, playful, artistic design - staffed largely w good folks.
The crowd is mostly the same 2000s urban hipsters that went in the day - often wearing the same style they used to - but now they are 40. they still come here. I say this like it’s bad, but it’s not. It’s truly good vibes here, especially if that scene was your thing back in the day
Other crowds do frequent here - everyday gen x ers or cooler gen z’ers or anyone really. And all are welcome. The early judgement of that world has left, as everyone has gotten older and just matured
Food and I believe drinks here are solid and not much to say. They fit the bill. Coming here though is really about the larger experience and vibe
If you want a cool place that is now a bit of a time capsule - Brillo remains a wonderful place. truly now a staple of the city and community. Its v appreciated, giving millennials a nostalgic and satisfying taste of what they once were“

“Good service, comfortable atmosphere and delicious fish sandwich with sweet potato tots. As a side note, upon leaving, we noticed the sign on the door offering Veterans a free meal on Veteran's Day. Along with good food, service, etc., the establishment is a blessing to the community!“

“I've only had good experiences and good food here. The hot wings are great as is the pizza, which are about the only things I've had here outside of the excellent and ever-evolving selection of draft beers. I've side-glanced at amazing-looking fish and shrimp baskets and must try some soon. The service is great. Rachelle is awesome!“

“Love the new look! Nicely done 👍 the drinks are fun and the menu 😋 Hawaiian food!! Some dishes I never had and well made. The food is provided on plastic plates however it’s a bar. Totally understandable. Fun. Great selections of beer. Great music. The staff is kind. The food didn’t take long and the prices are right. Parking can be tricky. You just have to get lucky. But totally worth it. Love the roof top. Took my HS son for lunch and then another time for dinner with friends. They can also host private events, something to consider. Not handicap friendly. If you can definitely check it out. Kids okay during the day, I wouldn’t do evenings. Gets crowded and more of a bar scene.“

“I go the visit this boom ? bar and grill EVERYTIME I am in Pittsburgh.Great food, drinks are amazing, free pool, and darts. They have a music box to play your own music if you like.Saturday night live Dj.Bingo as well on some night. “Old school authentic neighborhood cafe with full bar. Adorable Greek owner, a talker *love it*, entertained us with life experiences, cafe history, three owners over 91 years…award winning foods…the gyro, the spicy sicilian, and the Spartan (the hubby had this, fabulous), each one, separately, winners of first place, three years in a row. This was our first trip to Pitts and our very first stop. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! The food! The welcoming company! felt so at home, far from home♥️Thank you!“
