“Went last night with two friends for my birthday! I think our chef said his name was Gino! He was great and our waitress and the food was great! My only complaint was that the music was blaring so, we couldn't hear what anyone was saying and we really could even talk to each other!!! It took away from the experience since our chef was saying things that we couldn't hear. I did ask three different staff members if they could lower it to no avail. We don't think we will go back there again! We had to keep asking our waitress to repeat herself and that got to be exhsusting😣“

“First off, let me just this was the best server/host I have had pleasure to meet in all my life. She seemed to be higher up in the ranks (her name is Susan maybe?), and she is a wonderful, honest woman and an overall pleasure to converse with. It is a very cozy, traditional style place in terms of aesthetics. The sushi is really delectable too, the fish is high quality. The desserts were delicious as well. Will be sure to come back soon!“

“Such a nice place, my friend loves this place and wanted to show us and wow I am so glad she did. I ordered the shoyu ramen and it was absolutely amazing!! They have so many options in the menu it took us a while to decide. Our server was so nice, she remembers her regulars and was very attentive to our table and making sure we enjoyed our meal! Inside was super cute, great spot for lunch/ dinner. (I also have a peanut, tree nut, and shellfish allergy which they were able to accommodate :) )“

“I love Akira every time! We live in town and go regularly for take out, eat in, and hibachi. We have gone multiple times for hibachi and the service is great, atmosphere is fun, and they are accommodating of young children. Out son has more and more fun each time we go. I also love the sushi variety and flavor. So happy to have a non Italian spot in town!“

“Tucked away in a small shopping center, very easy to overlook, sits a gem of a restaurant. They have multiple cuisines to choose from, Japanese, Chinese, and Thai. The footprint of the restaurant is small, but it is so thoughtfully arranged and decorated. I wish I had found this place sooner and will definitely continue to visit.“

“I ordered sushi tonight for take out and I can say this is my new favorite place! I ordered the crazy tuna roll, salmon avocado roll, miso soup, and a ginger salad. The ingredients taste so fresh and everything has excellent flavor. I am so happy with everything and will become a regular in no time!“

Really love what they did with the space and truly excited for the addition of the bar so that we can enjoy their great custom cocktails with newtown's best sushi. The food is obviously still on point but beware of their penicillin drink! With their in-house pressed ginger and bitters, holy crap they are dangerously delicious! Love the upgraded esthetic and vibe at Oishi! Oh and lastly i love that they brought over some of the korean menu items like boa buns and crispy korean fried chicken from their other spot Omiza ?
