“We wanted to go to my favorite place, China Wok, but, for the second time in five months, learned they're closed on Mondays. Drat !! So we decided to try Panda due to the good reviews on here. I read something about the firecracker chicken and got that: it was hot. Far from too hot but much hotter than a lot of places. I really enjoyed my meal. Other half got orange chicken and she said it was good. I'll go back. It isn't great like China Wok but it's far better than the Chinese-style food at Giant, for instance.“
“I didn’t know this wasn’t an “actual” Panda Express until I got here and realized it’s in giant. Which is weird, but whatever. It’s alright if you’re in a pinch and either want panda express or Chinese. They don’t accept their gift cards and you can’t do online ordering. The food looks the same but compared to actual stand alone Panda Express locations, the food here is very different than a stand alone.“
“Fantastic food and service. Fish fillets in chili sauce was delicious and generous with fillets. The spicy incense pot was loaded with meats and flavor. The story of Cross Bridge rice noodles was great! Fantastic flavor of tofu Szechuan. Prices are reasonable, and portions are generous. Friendly service.“
“Amazingly good food. So hard to find good " any" kind of food nowadays. We had beef broccoli, vegetable lo mein, spicy shrimp and chicken garlic sauce. Everything was so cooked perfectly. Only caveat was they take cash only. But again food is good and cheap.“
“This is my go to place for Chinese food in this area.1. It's nice and clean inside.2. They have regular Chinese food options.3. Regular prices.4. The food is always fresh.5. If you ask them to add some spice to your dish, they do.6. Seating inside is limited, so I usually wait in my car while my food is being made.I had to try a few different places in the area before I found this one and they have been great. Customer serivce is not the greatest, but I don't expect but some much from a take-out restrautrant.“
“Since we moved from Harrisburg to perry county this has been our go to for chinese food. Especially compared to the next closest one that’s in newport that’s completely garbage. These guys are fast, consistent, and the quality/portions of food are good. Ever since covid the inside has become more of a storage area than a dining one but you can still sit and eat if you want.“
“I love Chinese if you seen anything I commented on to Nauseam. This is one of the best in Harrisburg. They have all day specials. Which really helps the wallet. Not only that but it's good. Try getting Rib Tip sauce or spicy garlic sauce on your chicken or fries.“
“Been eating here since 2017. The food is excellent and inexpensive. I particularly love the beef w/mixed vegetables and the beef Chow Mei Fun. As somebody else mentioned, they don't really do customer service, as in checking on you while you eat. But they're very friendly and I have no doubt that if I had a problem, they would promptly fix it.“
“I have been on the hunt for the best Chinese restaurant around since I’ve been in the area, and this place is it. For all the veg people looking for good vegetarian/vegan options, this place has the BEST general tso tofu. Everything me and my partner have tried here did not disappoint.“
“2015 update: I usually get the general tso's, which I have never ever had anything better than their's. Highly recommend them. I used to work near them so my friend and I probably went enough to pay the rent bill. :)2024 update: after a decade of going to China one and having general tso's literally at every Chinese restaurant I could get to in a 20 mile radius over the years, they absolutely still make the best! I will add my same friend, and I still come here fairly regularly at least 1 or 2 times a month. I think as a very long time patron I have the right to say in all honesty that the interior decor, walls, bathrooms, menus, and basically everything you can see is in need of a MASSIVE renovation! It makes it feel crumby to see it and eat there cause you aren't sure just how clean anything is. It's like they built the place, and that was the last time they thought about updating literally anything. Not being mean, I just want to eat A class food in an A class restaurant, not a D- restaurant. I recommend this place to anyone. They will always say my 2 favorite words at the end of ordering every time, "ten minutes" if you know, you know... :)“
“Visiting from Philly and stopped here for something small. Such a pleasant surprise for a Strawberry Center food court stop. We got the Hunan chicken and I was fully prepared for the typical chicken bits and canned veggies drowning in a brown sauce. Instead, we got a dish that's loaded with fresh seasonal veggies, not over-cooked but rather still crunchy and nutritious. The sauce is tasty too, with real peppers adding a bit of heat. We soaked it all up with the white rice. I'm just blown away - it's gourmet Asian food at 1/3 of the price I'm used to paying.“
“Beautiful, nice and quiet place for lunch or dinner, food has amazing flavor and it is fresh. Lots of parking comfortable sitting/atmosphere. Is located on an unexpected area and I kind of like it. Plus the food makes it easier to get out of my way.“
“It's been a while since I ordered from Emerald, and I was not aware of the change of ownership. It was the best decision I made to eat there, I ordered the House lomain, and 3 shrimp rolls. When was the last time you bit into a shrimp roll and actually found a whole shrimp inside the roll, not in one but all 3. The House lomain is hot and fresh as well as delicious. If you haven't tried the new Emerald then you are missing out on a true experience. Take my word you won't be disappointed with the care and quality put into each and every bite.If I personally can rate it with more than a 5 star review I would give it an 8 out of 8 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐“
“Fresh, delicious food. Great prices are highly recommended. Anyone is looking for a Chinese cuisine restaurant. It's a hole in a wall but they have five star food! I'm very picky and very stern on ratings. This place will not let your stomach or taste buds down and will not break the bank!“
“I just want to share my positive experience with you all on a new Chinese restaurant in Mechanicsburg. The Jasmine Chinese Kitchen on the Carlisle Pike directly across from Dennys. My husband and I went there yesterday. I am very picky, so I was so apprehensive. My favorite Chinese restaurant used to be Ho Wah’s in Lemoyne and I was heartbroken when they closed. The person who runs this restaurant is a relative in someway to the people who had Ho Wah’s. They use the same recipes. Everything that we ordered was fantastic and tasted like we remembered. The restaurant is geared toward takeout. However, they do have places to sit down and eat inside. Right now through March 31. They have 20% off of your total bill. No coupons needed. The girl who helped us was Pearl, and she was so kind and helpful. You don’t have to take my word for it, but give it a try if you like Chinese.“
“The staff at New China are friendly and taking great precautions to keep customers safe from COVID. The food is delicious and so well priced. I order a small sized dish for $5 and got 2 meals out of it. The food is always fresh, especially the vegetables, and the egg rolls are delicious. The hot and sour soup is very good as well. I love the fast service and prices here. I think it's one of the best Chinese restaurants in the area!“
“This is by far the best traditional Chinese/Hong Kong/Malasian style food I have had since traveling in those regions. Spring rolls simply done with perfection. Light, flaky and delicious. I have always searched for a genuine Hot and sour soup like you find in Asia. Finally I found it here. This is authentic hot and sour soup. A rich brown spicy and lightly sour broth with shredded carrots fresh mushrooms meat and tofu. Served with fresh light crispy noodles to compliment. The main course was just as good. Chicken with brocolli and chicken with snow peas were incredible. Fresh veggies and cooked to perfection. This place deserves my review. Thank you for serving simply the best traditional asian food I have found in the USA. Well done!“
“I’m shocked no one has reviewed this place yet! My first order here was a wonton soup and an egg drop soup. Both were fantastic! Definitely the best wonton in all of Mechanicsburg. Looking forward to trying out other dishes as there’s a real lack of good Chinese food in the southern part of Mechanicsburg!“
“Okay, firstly, there's a lack of Chinese food here which is oddly strange. What's even stranger is that this little nook is inside Giant. We got the lo mein and chicken and broccoli and general tsao's. Can't go wrong with those options. Definitely not the best Chinese food I've had, but definitely hits the spot. Will go again soon! Thank you!“
“I moved to Harrisburg like 6 years ago. I hate every Chinese restaurant I've ever tried here. If I really have a craving I'll drive to Shippensburg. This is by far the best I've had yet. We got beef with garlic sauce and shrimp fried rice with chicken wings. My hubby is very picky Abt his shrimp fried rice and he loved it. Will be a regular place from now on“
“I had an issue with their food a few years back and never went back until my favorite Chinese spot decided not to pick up unless something happened. We ordered from China wok today and they honestly did improve and I'm very satisfied with my order. I didn't even know I get a free soda with my purchase so that was awesome!“
“Just did first takeout at Taipei kitchen in Mechanicsburg. Food is delicious. We got the bourbon chicken, broccoli and garlic sauce and pork fried rice. Each one was really flavorful and well prepared. Wishing them the best for a long business, life and Mechanicsburg.“
“They ask for tips what? Asking for what tips has gone too far. Food wasn’t good and the Service was bad. If the food was good and service I would most likely give tips however that’s not acceptable, when they ask for a tips that makes awkward situation.“
“First time in, so I ordered a lunch special chicken broccoli, which comes with soup or a drink (I chose wonton soup), and a springroll. Everything was excellent and fresh, and the lunch special prices are very reasonable. I am a big eater, and I am satisfied. I will be back!“
“They deliver hot and fresh. It is decent Chinese food but we save our big stars for Chinatown DC. Comparable to food at Giant but delivered. The bad reviews seem to be on fish dishes....why order fish when you cannot see clean water for two hours?“
“I was shocked to see the poor reviews on here for this place. We've ordered from here twice via Grubhub because my wife is a big fan of their coconut chicken, which is not something you see on a lot of local Chinese menus. Overall the food is solid. It tastes pretty much how you would expect from a Chinese takeout restaurant. They put more wontons in their soup than most places. I don't know that it's any better than similar establishments closer to me on the west shore, but it's not any worse, either.“
“This is my goto Chinese takeout place. The staff isn't super friendly. The dining area looks half closed. The food is solid, though. Won't blow your mind, but if you're looking for decent Chinese to go, this is the best around for a few miles.“
“The best ,quick ,Chinese cuisine , Harrisburg has to offer. I love the atmosphere, the service and the preparation of the food. My first choice anytime Chinese food is mentioned, it has to come from Chan's!Vegetarian options: Vegetable fried rice is my favorite.“
“10/10 THE SPOT for fantastic food made with real, authentic soul. I cannot hype these guys up enough, I’ve lived in Harrisburg for about 8 years and can honestly say that this place just does it right. They serve high volumes of customers day in and day out and never fail to impress. The ingredients are fresh, the portions are perfect, everything is always right on. Total “hidden gem” of Harrisburg City.“
“I only gotten lunches from here. I usually go simple with Beef with Broccoli. The food is good and the service I get is always good. The owner always remembers me and know I like my meals hot/spicy. If I forgot to order it as spicy, she almost always asks me if I want it spicy.“
“I truly love going here the food is fresh, the service was great ,the dinning area clean well maintained its not a lot of seating so we to our food to go but the food was delicious this will be the spot to go for some good old amarrican Chinese “
“Honestly, this place is so good!I'm super picky and always super hesitant to order Chinese food because I feel like many places have bland fried rice and terrible crag rangoons (my two favorite things lol). But this place does not dissapoint! The fried rice is very delicious and flavorful and their crab rangoons as well.Food always arrives quickly and steaming hot when ordered via delivery.Highly recommend!“
“I go here regularly for lunch. Food is served in takeout containers which is convenient if you don't eat it all. It's piping hot when you get it and very tasty. I get chow mein and low mein dishes most of the time. They have bottled drinks, no fountain soda (but will give you a cup of ice), and the booths have seen better days. I feel like I need a booster seat. You only get plasticware for utensils. When I remember, I take my own metal ones. Seems like they do more takeout than eat-in at lunch. I give it 4 stars because the food is that good despite the couple things that could be improved.“
“We ordered takeout for the first time on Valentine’s Day. We usually frequent another Chinese restaurant but this one is conveniently located to our new home. Ordering online was easy and we were quoted 15 minutes for pickup time since they don’t deliver right now. It ended up being closer to 30 minutes but they were slammed and the staff was really apologetic.Prices are good. Food is good, but we had a bit of trial and error in figuring out what food we’d like and what it would look like, since that seems to vary across restaurants in the area. For example, I ordered honey chicken expecting a sweet dark sauce on lightly breaded chicken since that’s what “honey chicken” is at other restaurants. However, theirs is sweet and sour type chicken, just coated in a thick and sticky clear honey sauce with a ton of veggies (carrots, mushrooms, peppers). It wasn’t bad, just not what I was expecting. The chicken on a stick was good. The crab rangoons were the triangular shape I like but tasted a bit too oniony for my liking. The sweet and sour sauce was good. My husband liked his lo mein and was glad he got it with no veggies since their veggies include mushrooms (a first for us). They have the BEST pork fried rice I’ve tried at any Chinese restaurant around. I also like that they offer krab as a protein for things. We got the krab lo mein and it was good. Their boneless ribs were good, but a bit too dry and not sweet enough for me. It was a huge portion of them with lo mein for only $12ish dollars though. We will definitely order again!! Especially since their location is so convenient and the service was so good. Like I said, it’s trial and error of figuring out what you like.“
