“There is a weathered old board atop a few cinder blocks on the top of Lambert Mountain. This spot is my favorite place in the world. I can sit here all day just looking at the shadows cast by the clouds over the valley and far off ridges. This morning, while my husband worked, I sat on my bench. He worked up an appetite while I solved the world's problems. We came down the mountain around lunchtime. Central City is not a dining mecca. We knew BJ's was there yet we'd never eaten there so we decided to give it a try. You walk in and order at the counter. Today's special was a cheeseburger and fries for $10.49. That's what I opted for. My husband ordered the club sandwich and my BIL, the chili dogs. We did wait quite a while for our food but the restaurant was busy and the three employees were running around as fast as they could. My cheeseburger arrived on a ciabatta roll topped with lettuce, tomato, pickles and ketchup (I opted out of the mayo and onions) and a giant pile of fries. Unfortunately, the cheeseburger was not very good - there wasn't a single ounce of greasy goodness. The burger was almost as dry as the bun. I only ate about half. My husband was going to finish it but even he thought it was lousy and just gave up. The fries saved the meal from dismal failure. They were crispy on the outside with a softer center. There were so many that the three of us barely finished them. My husband's club, on the other hand, was great. It was huge - he could barely take a bite and that says a lot - this is the guy that eats Oreos two at a time in one bite. He managed to finish three of the four wedges. My BIL said the chili dogs were good - the chili made them. While walking through the restaurant, I noticed several diners with fish sandwiches. These things were colossal! Definitely what I'll be ordering if I visit again. And yes, I'm willing to give BJ's another try.”
“My husbands boss had a Christmas party there. It was a nice place with very nice staff. They kept checking to see if everything was okay or if we needed something else.”
“The bartenders and waitresses are the best!!! The food has improved a lot since we first started going there. If you want to go get a beer and something to eat it's perfect!!!Parking: Hugh parking lot!”
“Best craft beers in the area. Welcoming friendly atmosphere. The people here are wonderful. Always something to do whether in the winter or summer. A must if you are a beer lover.”
“Cafe Dodie quickly became my favorite local coffee shop after my first visit and my love for this place has only grown. The atmosphere is so cozy and welcoming. The staff are kind and their service is outstanding. The drinks never disappoint, and the constant rotation of flavors keeps me excited and coming back for more (though I’d still come back even if it was the same few drinks). Lydia and Troy have truly created something special here. Their love for others is so evident in the intentionality of Cafe Dodie. Everything they do embodies their phrase, showing us that we are “well loved.””
“What a marvelous gem located along Lincoln Highway near the Flight 93 Memorial!Food was amazing. Owners were super nice and attentive. Wow!!!Great atmosphere, great food, great hosts. Definitely try them out!”
“The entire experience was reminiscent of days past, dining in restaurants as a kid growing up in the 80s. The whole staff at Rizzo’s hasn’t forgotten things like service and respect. The food was absolutely delicious, the staff friendly, and we even got a table visit by the chef. Thank you for the memorable evening, we will most certainly be repeat customers.”
“Grew up here in town. Always having parties and get togethers. Beautiful interior with pure Windber Nostalgia. Plus the pizza and bread are the second best in Windber. They've been there since the 60s so somethings gotta be right!!Parking: Small Lot but plenty of auxiliary spots with a free library a half a block away..Kid-friendliness: They will accommodate any child no matter the situation. And even cut their food up if they are fussy. Love these Servers..Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp and good spots for handicapable people to easily access.”
“They are fast and very sweet plp working there! The amount of food is awesome and the prices are great as well!Kid-friendliness: They have toys for kids to play with”
“Had a nice time. Nice clean friendly atmosphere . The waitress Lori was quite busy but still was ontop with making sure you had a drink , and didn't have to wait . The drinks themselves were very good not too strong , but flavorful with a clean presentation. I myself didn't order food this time , but there wings are the best around Windber. Bought 20 worth of tickets there and won $150. So that was another nice surprise.Parking: Wasn't hard to find a spot to park at on the street .”
“This place definitely has its own atmosphere. It was obvious that we were the only ones there that were not locals or regulars, but everyone was friendly. Some of the menu items were not in stock, but the waitress was able to help us find things to eat that we liked.”
“Employees were nice & friendly, service was good, food is what you expect from a main chain pizza place, wings were yummy but the food can be pricey compared to other places. This is one of the better Fox's to go ”
“The hand dipped ice cream is great! But I do not care for their soft freeze ice cream the flavor is dull/subtle. Staff was nice although the day I was there the girl messed up order in front so there was a slight delay but that's okay no one is perfect ?”
“Also known as the dollar bar. You have to have an appreciation for a good smoky dive bar to like this place. Clientele is always interesting. Beer is as cheap as you can get. Make sure you ask for a P&P.”
“St. Raymond of the Mountain Church in Donegal, PA. served an outstanding chicken barbecue dinner after mass on Sunday. The chicken was barbecued / catered by George's Champion Chicks, Champion, PA. and the chicken was from Oaks Poultry Co. Inc., Stoystown, PA. The entire meal was outstanding featuring one half barbecued chicken, macaroni salad, baked beans, italian bread and butter, a variety of desserts, and choice of drinks. The dinner was a fundraiser for the parish and the meal was takeout or dine-in. I highly recommend the chicken from this dinner. It was cooked to perfection by the caterer and blessed by God. Thank you to all involved in this annual event !!!”

“Great place to relax for a drink after work. Owner is great and friendly. The only thing I would like is to see is more music entertainment that is not always the same 3 or 4 bands.”

“What a wonderful experience! The food is excellent, a beautiful historical building, the bar area is the old-fashioned bar back. The staff and patrons are very friendly, the type of place that no one is a stranger. The family that owns the hotel are great. They make everyone feel like a part of the family. They annual fundraiser they host for the Humane Society is outstanding, with a great basket raffle all to help our ? ? pets.
