“I was passing by this place on my not usual way home from work when I decided to stop and try Nigerian food for the first time. And I’m glad I did!
First the food. Delicious! I have a feeling most people come in already knowing what they want or at least speak Yoruba. The menu does not have any descriptions, but there are a few pictures on the wall to help. Since this was my first time having Nigerian food, I asked them to choose for me, only telling them “no fish or rice” and that “I like meat and vegetables”. Was rewarded with a healthy portion of efo riru (Nigerian spinach stew) with added meat (cubes of stewed beef) and a softball sized portion of hot fufu. Cost $17 and I was stuffed.
Although they gave me utensils, I ate it traditionally with my hands scooping the stew together with the fufu. The stew was really good! Very flavorful and not overly spicy. There was plenty of vegetables and was cooked just right. If I had to offer a suggestion - the added meat could have been smaller and in more even pieces. But it’s very small complaint.
Service: was good! My
Meal was ready quickly and was packed up securely with napkins and utensils.
Atmosphere : There are three or so booths to eat at, with lots of napkins and salt shakers, but it’s really a take it to go place - a “hole in the wall” neighborhood place where your money is going to the food, not the decor. I ate in because I live more than 40 minutes away and was starving.
There is a handwashing station so you can wash your hands before and after eating. Also got to watch some news on the large screen tv.
Value : $17 dollars and I was happily stuffed. I could have made into two meals but was very hungry. I ordered a Second portion to take home. 100% Would go back!“

“Suya suya is literally my favorite place to eat in the fishtown/northern liberties area. I come here almost everyday after work and the food here is amazing. It reminds me of Nigeria. The atmosphere is amazing and the food is the best. My favorite dish is definitely the egusi and rice combo. Garba the manager is very welcoming and friendly. I feel like a part of the family every time I come here. If you are looking for a good place to eat and want great African food this is the place to be.“

“I went to Divine Time on Feb 14 and order jollof rice, fried fish, fish stew. egusi, amala and moin moin. Divine Time actually gifted the moin moin to me! I have to say the food was flavorful and served a reasonable amount for the price. I didn't exactly get to taste my amala, when I got home it was pounded yam instead of Amala, maybe next time. However, the Egusi was extremely tasted, my only nit pick I would say is I wish the meat and ponmo were fried either way it was flavorful also the fried Tilapia was a bit over seasoned with salt but the fried fish stew was amazing. The owner of Divine Time was extremely friendly and playful which is a great attitude to have especially for new customers like me.
I will certainly be back for more tasty foods!“

“My first time eating here . Love the decor very small restaurant only one person to server and cook. The soup with fufu was flavorful , and spicy like I love. Big portions for the price. That was the plus of the restaurant The problem was that they were out of quite a few things I wanted to order with my meal. And I told my family to come purchase some food from here. They told me they order the chicken dinner and didn't get the other items that were supposed to be included with the chicken dinner. But they were still charging the same price instead of at a discount price because it wasn't a full meal as advertised. Now they are upset with me for suggesting this restaurant that cheated them. I'm appalled at why they did that?“

“It's best to call in first and pick up your order. This place gets packed but you'll never know because most orders are done by phone.
Portions are hefty. It's family run and owned. The customer service is excellent, they make all their customers feel like family. ♥️
All the dishes are excellent.“

“Im Ghanaian and was confused when I seen Nigerian rice but still ordered waakye, goat , and stew fried fish. It was really good & im picky. Very fresh compared to others I’ve tried in Philly. & you know as Africans we hate ordering others food but it was really good, & spicy enough. Beef pie was okay but everything else was great.“

“My absolute favorite "Go to place" for some Dibi and Plantain. Delicious and mouth watering onion sauce, Lamb is grilled to perfection, with the tantalizing sweetness of the plantain that just melts away in your mouth. I am a reliable customer and approve of them being one of the best African restaurants I know who never disappoints, especially when it comes down to consistency and good taste.Their unique touch on this particular dish is a 10 out of 10.Their speciality and best seller is the Dibi and Plantain I can assure you of that.I recommend and support this business 100%“

“Food critic here! Let me give you the Real Real about Prime 😉. I will write about one of my orders; Rasta Pasta with charred grilled shrimp. I had a pleasant experience. I’m originally from the UK, and it’s worth noting that historically African dining style restaurants are fairly rare in Philadelphia. If you’re looking for oversized portions typical of a traditional African restaurant, this isn’t that and it’s not advertised to be.
*Disclaimer* parking is hard to find, in the area its close to the downtown area so Uber to avoid the stress.
Top menu items if you’re looking for something good?
1.Beef Suya
2. Goat Meat Pepper Soup
3. Fried Red Snapper
4. Fried Plantain
5. Asun
Prime Fusion is a smaller establishment, so the bar selection is more limited than what you’d find at larger venues. That said, it has the essentials especially when it comes to tequila.
Service was excellent. I came on a Wednesday night there was no wait. Look I dont need my waiter to do backflips to keep us entertained 😂. I came here to EAT! Hey im a jester myself so ill make a jokes. Our server introduced herself, gave us ample time to review the menu, we had bottled waters, she answered questions clearly, and remained attentive throughout the evening. The drinks were a 10/10.
A little love in the food might go a long way. Still, the music was good, prices were fair for dining out, and the overall vibe was enjoyable. I’d definitely return to see how the kitchen continues to improve.“

“The location is pretty basic but clean and comfortable. The ladies are very sweet and kind. My food has always been good, except the one time I ordered it on doordash. Otherwise, I get the lamb, plantains, and Jollof rice. Also, the potatoe greens are good. Wish they had a seafood one, but they make do.“

“The food is very good. I've had different dishes different times of the year. They serve many African dishes, a few American dishes, they're all very good. You may have to use cash if no one's available to accept your debit card. It's easy accessible by car and by public transportation.
Parking: It's located on busy 52nd Street. There's street parking, also parking at the kiosk. There's also parking on the side streets.“

“Even after they changed locations (right next door) Food prices are reasonable considering the size of their dishes. I love their lamb and rice platters, for $22 depending on who you are you'll have enough food to feed yourself and others if you want. Great place for something to eat that's not your everyday fast food..“

“Delicious, hardy and tasty. A bit spicy too. Didn't know what to do with the fufu (cassava) and they were so nice explaining it all. The eggplant stew had lots of meat. I swapped it for fish. They have us free plantains too. Really great meal and wonderfulllll.“
