“We decided to celebrate a special anniversary at Finellis and couldn't have been happier with our evening! We made a reservation and had a cozy table on this cold January evening. We were greeted promptly and while we were looking over the menu, we were given a pre-appetizer of a pasta & sausage salad in a delicious dressing. We did order an appetizer of "Drunken Mushrooms" to start and could believe how good they were and a very large portion too. We weren't rushed to order and when ready, gave our server, Christi, our order. The salads were very generous and fresh and we enjoyed two of the house-made dressings. I had an Italian vinaigrette which we loved so much, we purchased some to take home. We did ask for some bread or rolls and a basket was brought out. Out of the two, the bread was the best! Then came the meals. . .my wife had Eggplant Parmisan over angel hair pasta which she loved! I had a huge grilled pork porterhouse steak, cooked to perfection and accompanied by red roasted parsley potatoes and green beans in Jack Daniels sauce. The only thing we really didn't like was the green beans. . .was hoping for fresh cut ones and we couldn't taste the Jack Daniels sauce. That was so minor and we had so much food by then, it really didn't matter in the context of writing this review. The entree portions were large but yet totally scrumptious and seasoned / cooked to perfection. For dessert, they brought over a tray of about 8 or so desserts to pick from. . .all homemade by Mrs. Finelli herself! Oh my. . . who could resist? We decided to take a piece of Italian Almond Cake with butter cream icing. . .it was more than enough for us to share and especially after a big meal. The dessert was heavenly to say the least and we ate every bite! Last but not least, a big shout out to our server, Christi. . . .she made our dinner so enjoyable. . .friendly and checking in on us to see if we needed anything, refilling drinks and helping us order the perfect meal selections for us! A big thanks to her and Finellis. . .we will definitely be back soon!”

“This was my first time there and the service(ordering, getting my coffee, and receiving my food) was stellar! The coffee was great(I had a bold roast), and my breakfast sandwich was SO delicious. If you like crispy bacon this is the place. I will surely return to try more of their specialty breakfast sandwiches.”

“Had to try the hotel pizza - pleasantly surprised - quite tasty! Very fresh - crust was very nice, yellow cheese may look odd, but was creamy and worked for the slice well. Wish I lived closer - I’d be stopping for lunch frequently. Look forward to returning. Owner and employees were very friendly, it’s great to thoroughly enjoy an experience in a small town restaurant with fresh ingredients, good people. Neat memorobelia on the walls, too. “On the upside: the beer menu is extensive, wings are delicious and space is nice. On the downside: fries could be more fresh and service just a tidbit more attentive. The brick burger did took some time (as indicated in the menu) but was nice. The wings were splendid.”

“Absolutely LOVE this place. They are the only restaurant in town who is consistent be it dine in or carry out. I’ve never ever had a bad meal here. Even during the covid shut down. Everything is always packed with care. Quick, efficient, organized, spotless… I could go on. Friendly, helpful and considerate staff as well even through changes. If I ever get my own place, Lucy is the type of owner I aspire to be! After over 20 years in the biz it takes a lot to impress me but the Athenian Cafe is a true Altoona gem and a must dine!”

It was fantastic!Got a latte and a yogurt parfait, both were very delicious.It was a little complicated to park, but once you get inside it is very spacious with lots of different seating options.Definitely recommend! “I've done both dine in and takeout at Vito's. The staff are always cordial and the service is great. I always gauge pizza quality by plain slices. Vito's is always a 9+........Sauce is a 10 and crust is an 8.5. I prefer slices over whole pizzas as the crust is more done and crispy on re-heats. I've also had pasta and sandwiches here as well and they were great. Currently my favorite pizzeria is Western PA.”
