This opening makes me grizzly excited!I didn’t look at the details carefully, but buying two scones, two muffins, a biscuit sandwich and two bagels totaled $23, which I thought was a good deal! There are also many types of pastries and bagels. Many of the items are vegan. I really like them. The pastries are delicious. Everything and the salt+rosemary bagels taste a little salty to me.“

“Gina makes the BEST rosemary cheddar scones you will ever find! All the treats in the shop are so tasty and baked with love, but the scones are outstanding! Gina and her staff are so sweet and friendly, that the “Sweets” of their Sweets on Darby name refers as much to the people as it does to the delightful pastries she bakes. Such a cute inviting shop with an amazing staff and delicious treats all wrapped up in one place❤️❤️“

“I am not one to leave a review but I must share how amazing this bakery was to work with and how beautiful and delicious their cake was! Not only were they able to accommodate my custom cake request super last minute but they brought the inspiration photo I sent them to life in the form of the most flavorful cake that left all our guests raving and wanting more. The only downside was the fact that we didn’t have any left over to enjoy the next day! This will for sure be our go to bakery going forward!“

“I've been meaning to stop in for lunch for a while and finally did today. Absolutely fantastic food. Cheesesteak special was phenomenal and so was the pastrami Reuben. Seriously best Reuben I've ever had. French fries were also delicious. Inexpensive, delicious, and big portions.“

“First of all--I'm glad to be introduced to another Black owned bakery! And the customer service is great. My aunt located this place when looking for treats for my grandma's bday. Everything was delicious and were a hit with the family, including the cookies. They really have too many cupcake options to choose from ?. I recently stopped by and tried the delicious sweet potato & strawberry shortcake cupcakes. I also have tried the Oreo and Turkey Bacon ones, which were good, too. I'm literally sad it's a Monday and can't wait until Wednesday to visit.“

“I can't say enough good things about Meg and her work! She was absolutely fabulous to work with for my geeky 1950’s wedding. She was sweet, professional, and up to whatever challenge I could throw at her. From start to finish she was amazing to work with, our trial was delicious and we spent months anticipating getting to taste the amazing cake again. On our wedding day I was so excited to see our Doctor Who themed cake and cup cakes, it was more then I could have ever imagined it to be. All night people commented on the design of the cake, and once it was cut people commented on the taste. I am so glad I was able to save a few cup cakes to take home, I’m not sure we would make it a year to taste the cake again. “This is my second time ordering from Ann’s Cake Pan and I’m sure it will not be the last! They make gorgeous and delicious cakes! In our first experience, they actually offered a generous plate of samples for us to take home and try before ordering!They stand behind their products and will work with you to make sure everything is to your liking. “Such a great place! I went a few months ago and things were good but OH MY!! I went again today and everything was AMAZING! We were one of the first people in shop and the selection was actually overwhelming! So many options and everything has been great so far. I’m actually a vegan bakery owner myself BUT when traveling love to try other treats & I was super happy about all the treats. Also, the staff working was super friendly, helpful and just overall great to chat with. I immediately texted a fellow vegan friend and sanctuary owner about my experience and what treats I grabbed so he knows to stop next time he’s in the area as well! ❤️❤️“

“If I could rate Costa Deli 100 stars, I would.I was greeted immediately by the owner, Dave, as he was joyfully chatting with his mother, and he directed me to the counter to take a seat for a meal. I then met Steve, the chef and culinary genius behind the magic that is, Costa Deli.Per Steve's expert recommendation, I ordered a classic Italian hoagie with sopressata, provolone & capicola, hot peppers, sweet peppers, lettuce, tomato, onion, oil and vinegar, and hot pepper flakes. This was easily one of the best hoagies I've ever had. The flavors were so balanced. The bread was so fluffy and light, yet robust enough to easily hold the ingredients of the sandwich. The meats and cheese were so flavorful and of the highest quality and freshness. The peppers, lettuce, tomatoes, and onions were all prepared to perfection and also incredibly fresh and juicy. I could tell Steve was not only great at what he does, but he also loves what he does.In addition, I naturally ordered a chocolate milkshake and an order of French fries. The milk shake was delicious and hit the spot. Steve fried the fries to perfection and they were lightly salted and crispy, just how I like them.Towards the end of my meal, I met Jack, another chef, who kindly asked me how I was doing, let me know of the incoming rainstorm, then got right to work building more of the famous Costa Deli hoagies for several online orders. The kitchen hummed along and David, the owner, humbly stepped in to assist the line with anything they needed. I really admired, respected, and appreciated Dave's teamwork and care for his staff.To end my lovely time at Costa Deli, I spoke at length with Dave about how contemporary society has drifted away from the mom-n-pop style restaurants and stores and towards corporate consumption of big name stores. We discussed how much we appreciated the sense of community provided by and created through corner stores in small towns just like Costa Deli. We all need to support small businesses whenever possible because one's like Costa Deli make you feel like you've walked in from the outside world and stepped right into the home of the Costa family.I will most certainly be back and I highly encourage you to sit at the counter and watch Steve, Jack, Dave, and the rest of the Costa Deli staff go to work.“

“whenever I am in Chestnut Hill I always say that I am going to try this restaurant. Well today I did and It did not disappoint OMG…. The restaurant is quaint and cute. The service was excellent and the food was very good. I ordered the broccoli quiche with turkey bacon on the side. That quiche is like none I have ever tasted, flaky crust and the filling reminded me of soufflé but much taster. I also brought 2 cups cakes carrot and coconut to go. I’m sure they are just as good. I can’t wait to go back because I hear there is a different quiche each week. This is my new breakfast place for sure.“

“Came here the day before Thanksgiving, it was very packed but staff did a great job moving the line. Ordered 4 of the second smallest sized cakes they offer to try a few out and was very satisfied with them.The double chocolate chip and snickerdoodle were amazing, one of our favorite desserts especially in the area.We are saving the other two for Thanksgiving to share tomorrow...if they make it that long!Definitely recommend checking it out.“

“First time trying this place out. Must pickup from the window as the entrance is closed off. and eating it seems homemade. The heart cookies were sweet but just missing that certain someone to share them with. One of the macaroons was off kilter appearance wise but food wise- I mean it's TooGoodToGo. The taste is fine. Nothing like when Miel existed or the one off of Race St. if it is still there, probably French exquisite in those places. Staff is friendly. The custard like dessert was flavorful and I have no idea what this mash was besides edible and delicious! A local shop a tourist probably won't hit unless they are using TooGoodToGo or reading this review by chance, then maybe.“

“This beautiful vegan cake was the star of the dessert table. Mom to be is vegan, but others enjoyed the cake too. I was happy that they were able to let me purchase a dozen vegan cupcakes (I'm glad they happened to have extra) for a party the next day.“

“We ordered custom cookies in the likeness of our daughter’s dogs for a party. These doggie cookies were the hit of the party! Not only did the coolies look exactly like the dogs, somehow their personally was also captured! The cookies tasted delicious as well as looking great! I Would highly recommend this bakery! “There are not enough good things to say about Cathryn’s. My twin sister told me about the bakery. It truly feels like family every time I visit. They know which twin is which by now (LOL). I have referred family and friends to Cathryn’s. In fact, the last time I visited, I went to an event later that evening saw one of their cakes at my friend’s event. Professional representation always and wonderful aesthetic. And I agree with the comment regarding the packaging: very polished down to the details. They make Philadelphia proud!“
