“First time here, and all I can say is Amazing! I can't wait to go back. My wife already said we're going back next weekend. Everything that we ate was amazing! We normally have to drive back down the way where we grew up for food like this, and it's been extremely hard to find good food like this up around here, but I am so happy that we finally did. We love this place! Also, the vibe is awesome. Everyone was extremely nice and the gentleman who I spoke to there briefly when he asked if it was my first time there; his energy was great. Made me feel like I was back down where we grew up. The vibes, the food, the energy; everything was great.I'm looking forward to going back!P.S. We also got the collard greens, and just one bite was out of this world! Literally sat back after one bite, shook my head and smacked the table because of how good they were!“

“I've lived in the neighborhood for 4 years and never stopped before, the food always smells so good. I finally ordered today and it was a nice experience. The staff was polite, the prices are reasonable, The food is delicious and they give you a good amount of food. I ordered the yellow rice and beans with roasted pork and an order of Tostadas. Everything was seasoned well. I would recommend to others and I will be going back in the future.“

“The mofongo and the empanadas are delicious. I have been going there at least once a week and get the ripe plantain mofongo with chicharron mixed in. You can then add shrimp, fried pork, sausage, pork chops, fried chicken, fried cheese or steak. You get an large portion of the mofongo and a large portion of whatever you add as the side. The empanadas are warm and flaky. I also tried the fried sweet plantains but unfortunately they were not so sweet, but I think they didn't have ripe enough plantains at the time. I will give them a second chance with the fries sweet plantains. The service has been really nice and they are very friendly. For the amount of food you get, prices are acceptable.“

“Found this treasure place when I was looking for Dominican/ Mexican food for lunch at work. Really really good slow cook ribs. I really want to know how they seasoned it even there might be some recipes online. When you chewing the chicharrones the juice/fat just come out and it taste really really good.Ribs/ chicharrones(crispy slow cook pork belly), rice and beans, salad, and maduros(sweet fried plantains) for $13.Do not go to Applebees, TGI Fridays, McDonald’s, meals from local tea like this gives you better and healthier choices, and they deserved more customers.Part of ribs and chicharrones(the part doesn’t include much fat) became too hard/too dry to eat after long time cook, some of them are not eatable anymore since it’s too hard. There should be a way to avoid this problem. As I know the Cantonese type Chinese BBQ restaurant has slow cook ribs and crispy pork belly too (with different seasoning of course) , but theirs doesn’t have this problem, and pork belly are perfectly brown. I don’t know how they do it. Maybe cover meat with aluminum paper and be more accurate at the timing and temperature by cooking them not as long as Latin chicharrones(chicharrones taste harder/crispier). If you try pork belly from both restaurants you will know what I meant“

“The only critique I would have is that they need a better roll for the steak sandwich and it needs to be gutted. Now saying that I prefer the texture on the outside of the role to be different than the inside of the role. The roll feels like I’m eating white bread with seeds. But other than that, everything is delicious. I do not want to discourage you from getting the cheesesteak because it’s so good. I’ve had it several times! Like I said just prefer a different roll. The owner is very personable and besides the food bringing you back, you want to go back because of the owner.“
