“Lake Tobias is one of my favorite places to visit when I am in PA! Friendly staff, affordable food, and the opportunities to interact with and feed a variety of animals make this wildlife park a unique and special place. The safari bus tours are my favorite part of this park! You are able to feed a variety of bison, gazelles, emus, etc. from your seat! You can purchase either pellets, popcorn, or carrots from the park and the prices are very reasonable. Pro tip: I have found that the animals really like the carrots and the kiddos really like the popcorn. The line for the tour can be long on busy days so make sure to bring something to entertain your kids. The animals eat right from your hand, which can be overwhelming for little ones or people with sensory sensitivities. The bus drivers are very knowledgeable and provide a variety facts about the animals and the park during the tour. The petting zoo has standard goats, camels, deer, etc. Be careful with the camels, some of them like scratches but some of them do not! Make sure that you stop by and pet the baby animals that are being socialized to humans near the petting zoo! I have been able to pet a baby bison, a calf, and a bunch of baby emus that were not as soft as I thought they were going to be. The exhibits are informative and some of the animals have a lot of space. The giraffes are a really long walk from the rest of the exhibits so be prepared! There is a hiking trail that will take you to the entrance of the giraffe exhibit that has birds and a very grumpy bobcat along the way. The trail has hills and is not disability or senior friendly so keep that in mind. If you stop by at the right time, then you may have the chance to feed a giraffe some lettuce or some other snack!Speaking of snacks, the food at the concession stands are delicious and very affordable! The burgers, chicken nuggets, and hot dogs at the Grille & Grub are all reasonably priced and hit the spot after all of that walking. The ice cream portions are generous and refreshing on hot summer days. There are a lot of covered seating areas near the concessions stands and scattered around the lakes. You can bring your own food if you want but with the affordable pricing at the concession stands you don't need to.If it is hot then make sure that you visit the reptile house or the museum for some air conditioning and information. The reptile house has exhibits around the walls of the building and you may get the chance to pet a snake or an alligator! There is a small amphitheater in the middle where keepers will bring out animals and give talks throughout the day. These talks are popular so get there early if you want a seat with a good view! The museum goes through the history of the park and is a loving tribute to the founder. There is an aquarium in the museum and staff who will show you some of the antlers or horns that the animals at the park have dropped. The park is open 10am - 5pm Monday to Friday and 10am - 6pm on weekends from June to August with shorter hours, limited activities, and/or only open weekends in April, May, September, October, and November (see the 2023 schedule below). Check back with the park website for their updated 2024 hours but the general concepts (only open for safari drive through in April and November, only open on weekends some months, etc.) have not changed in the past 3 years that I have been visiting. If you are coming from the south and taking the 225, there is a crazy bend in the road that you really need to be careful of (see the photo below). The park is located in a rural area but there is signage as you get closer to let you know that you are going the right way. You need to go past the John Deere store to get to the entrance. Parking is always free and admission at the time of this review was $19 for anyone age 3+ and includes all of the exhibits and the safari. You can pay $10 for the exhibits alone, but I highly recommend that you add on the safari! Active duty military and veterans are free with military ID. They don't have a way to purchase ti”

“Only ever get take out here when I am in the area so I can say that the pulled pork and beef are amazing and worth every penny. They have great flavor and seasoned nicely with a nice portion for a fair price. The owner is a great guy who will talk with you while he gets your order ready and make you feel that he truly is grateful for your business.”
“I absolutely love this place! I have told all my friends and family about it. The food is delicious, the service is amazing, and I love the overall look of this restaurant. 10/10, I absolutely recommend!”
“This place is the greatest! I eat here all the time and I brag about it to others. The girl who answers the phone is a complete sweetheart and so nice and great with the customers. I can’t get enough of this place. Thank you all locations for your amazing hospitality and cleanliness big hugs to all of you!!!!!!”
“Thank you for accommodating our larger party than we made the reservation for! It was a special get together for our mom's 83rd Birthday so we very much appreciated it!”
“During a recent adventure, we stumbled upon the Carsonville Hotel, a delightful find that we discovered through Facebook. The allure of their seafood Bloody Mary special was too tempting to resist, and it certainly did not disappoint. As we perused the menu, the buffalo chicken nachos caught our eye, and what a fantastic choice they were! Each bite was a perfect harmony of flavors, leaving us thoroughly impressed and eager for more. But the true star of the show was the Thin Mint Cheesecake. It was nothing short of fabulous, a dessert that managed to be both refreshingly minty and decadently creamy all at once. The Carsonville Hotel has etched a special place in our hearts, and we're already looking forward to our next visit. For anyone who finds themselves in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by—you won't regret it!”
“Joe is a 15 year old young man That is assistant manager at this location. He's a very responsible , personable hard working employee. Kudos to him ! Subway is a chain and as they go this is typical, but Joe makes it special!”
“The only one open for Christmas in Halifax. I’ve not been a fan of Chinese food lately because I fell they use a ton of oil to where you can see the separation in the sauces used but this place is by far the best light crisp vegetables clean . They Definitely will be getting a return visit .”
“Decided to give them another try. I liked the change they made to their pepperoni. My pizza was ready about 20 minutes later than the original time they gave me but they comped me for it so service has improved.”
“I was coming from Lancaster to get tattooed near by over the course of a year and a half. I would stop here for food every single time. This was hands down the best McDonalds I've ever been to. The burgers, nuggets and fries were always fresh. I'm honestly going to miss going here until I start my next tattoo project.”
“what a great new restaurant! My father and I tried it out tonight because our go-to Chinese restaurant was closed. The menu was definitely a Nepalese/Himalayan feel to it. The restaurant is small, but clean and smells good. The lady at the register was very sweet and gave us some info about the dishes on the menu. my father ordered Pork Chow Mein, and I ordered something called Chicken Johl Momo. We also ordered cups of Chai tea. Everything was fresh and delicious. My dad loved his dish, and he's a hard person to please. We will definitely be back and I wish them much success.”
“I'm a Texas girl, living in Central Pennsylvania. My Texas Aunt and I try any new Barbeque places in around Central Pennsylvania. Up in Smoke has the very best Collard Greens. Legitimately the best, perfectly seasoned. I has the sliced brisket with nice burnt ends.”
“I really like this place for the burgers. They're amazing. Sometimes I go back and forth between the chicken fingers and then I remember why I don't get them, they're very grisly. The older woman in the window that takes your order can be extremely rude sometimes. She tends to roll her eyes whenever your order just about anything on the menu Also a little tip, call ahead or you will be waiting about 25 mins for your food. The parking lot area could be a little better. But it works. It's a very busy outside with the highway being right there.”
“We walked in and totally felt like we were in a rock and roll band. You order at the counter and they are quick to bring out your beverages. The food was fresh and their home-fries were tasty. The service was great and they came to check on us once to make sure we were all set!”
“All 5 of us had terrific steaks and ribs. All cooked perfectly and seasoned right on.Service was second to none.Parking: Dirt lot, uneven and water filled standing dirty holes. They would serve the public by simply paving the lot.”
“Everything about Bellia’s is an amazing experience! From the owner Vito and his son who run it, to the delicious selection of various pizzas and other meals. The atmosphere is ALWAYS super clean and inviting. I work really close and o am always craving Bellia’s on a weekly basis. I am a regular weekly for sure! ❣️”
“Enjoy going to this restaurant very much. It's usually quiet, which is nice. No television, No music. So you can talk with the people you're with.Although there is a buffet, the service is always friendly and homey. The food is good. And while they do not have a bar, you can BYOB.In addition to the buffet, they have an extensive menu from which you can order. The buffet and the menu feature both vegetarian and meat dishes. This is a nice, family-run restaurant. Highly recommended!”
“This strip needs a great spot just like this . Abundant selection of speciality/seasonal drinks with a welcoming atmosphere awaits you if you can get past the door handle .”
“Oh my gosh. Their ice cream is amazing!!!! Worth every calorie. And so affordable! I ordered 2 flavors in the small cup and it's under $5!!!! I love the lemon blueberry crunch and the peaches and cream. Wish I lived closer.”
“Great food!! Came perfect, only problem was the wait, but I understand they were busy.Dietary restrictions: They have gluten free granola options, much appreciated”
“This Place is a nice cozy place for people to relax and enjoy their favorite nerdy fandoms! The food and drinks are amazing and the presentation really makes it! The staff is really friendly and a lot of fun! I have never been to a place where the staff is so lively, interactive, and caring! They have board games that you can play with the staff, and even other patrons! It’s a great place to go to meet new friends! They also host a lot of free events for people to enjoy! I highly recommend At Your Service! It is truly a Gem of a place here in Pennsylvania!Kid-friendliness: This Cafe is Anime themed and has a bunch of fun games. If you have kids that like anime and games they will love it!”
“I cannot say enough good things about 3B. The ice cream is fantastic. I love the huge selection they have of flavors, and toppings. The staff is always friendly, and gets orders completed quickly. Now onto what I have in my photo (an Italian hoagie with everything)....the subs are to die for. Hands down one of the best Italian subs I've ever had. Everything is fresh, and it hits the spot everytime. Also, this monster was only $11.32! I believe the price went up 50 cents or so from last year, but this is still the steal of the century. Go here for the ice cream, but don't forget about the sandwiches!!”
“Awesome s'more sundae! Friendly and prompt staff. The fall sundae special pumpkin caramel with cinnamon walnuts is amazing. Best pumpkin ice cream around and the only one that doesn't taste fake.”
“I tell you what. You would not know this place would exist. It reminds me of a dive bar, but the food is wonderful and the service is top notch. They have a good selection of beers also.”
“I love coming to mellow minded for lunch, quality ingredients at a reasonable price. I always get the turkey club with a lemon mint tea, both are delicious. The waitstaff is friendly and food comes out quickly even when they're busy. Sitting outside on their patio is the best on a nice day, lots of seating both inside and out and some cute decor inside.”
“Absolutely love Oishi! They are so incredibly friendly and sweet-especially to our kiddos! The food is delicious--my fave is the steak and shrimp combo. That yum yum sauce!”
“It’s the best! The burgers, fries, and shakes are delicious. The servers were waiting patiently for us to park and took our order right away. We try to stop anytime we’re passing through!”
“Friday night with the guys ... flight of beers ... wings, smash burgers and grilled chicken Sammie's ... reasonable prices, good service and chill vibe. Live music regularly, but we were gone before they started so not sure how loud it gets.”
“I walked in with an appetite and was not disappointed. The food and ice cream was amazing! My husband and I split the salmon cake and meat sampler. In the meat sampler we got the pulled chicken, chopped brisket, pulled port, sweet sausage, ribs, and breaded chicken bites. Our favorites were the salmon cake, pulled chicken with zesty white sauce, chopped brisket with hot honey garlic bbq, and the sweet sausage. Everything was so good we ended up walking out with a zesty white sauce, hot honey garlic bbq sauce, and 1/2 gallon of teaberry ice cream. I will definitely be back!”
