“New to the area. Originally from NJ, lived in South Carolina the past 3 years, home of the worst pizza in the U.S. Very picky about my pizza. Ordered a plain and Hawaiian pizza. Soooo GOOOOOOD! Great crust, not to much sauce, perfect. I had forgotten what good pizza tastes like. I have been looking for a good local pizza place, I will definitely be back.“

“We decided to celebrate a special anniversary at Finellis and couldn't have been happier with our evening! We made a reservation and had a cozy table on this cold January evening. We were greeted promptly and while we were looking over the menu, we were given a pre-appetizer of a pasta & sausage salad in a delicious dressing. We did order an appetizer of "Drunken Mushrooms" to start and could believe how good they were and a very large portion too. We weren't rushed to order and when ready, gave our server, Christi, our order. The salads were very generous and fresh and we enjoyed two of the house-made dressings. I had an Italian vinaigrette which we loved so much, we purchased some to take home. We did ask for some bread or rolls and a basket was brought out. Out of the two, the bread was the best! Then came the meals. . .my wife had Eggplant Parmisan over angel hair pasta which she loved! I had a huge grilled pork porterhouse steak, cooked to perfection and accompanied by red roasted parsley potatoes and green beans in Jack Daniels sauce. The only thing we really didn't like was the green beans. . .was hoping for fresh cut ones and we couldn't taste the Jack Daniels sauce. That was so minor and we had so much food by then, it really didn't matter in the context of writing this review. The entree portions were large but yet totally scrumptious and seasoned / cooked to perfection. For dessert, they brought over a tray of about 8 or so desserts to pick from. . .all homemade by Mrs. Finelli herself! Oh my. . . who could resist? We decided to take a piece of Italian Almond Cake with butter cream icing. . .it was more than enough for us to share and especially after a big meal. The dessert was heavenly to say the least and we ate every bite! Last but not least, a big shout out to our server, Christi. . . .she made our dinner so enjoyable. . .friendly and checking in on us to see if we needed anything, refilling drinks and helping us order the perfect meal selections for us! A big thanks to her and Finellis. . .we will definitely be back soon!“

“Sal's OIP is another Altoona exclusive restaurant, and Sal and his wife are legends in their own right. They've been running this business for over 25 years, and offer a hearty pizza with a chewy, fresh baked bread type of crust. There are other italian style sides like subs, strombolis, and spaghetti dinners, but sometimes a plain old pepperoni pizza is best. It usually closes for a month or so during the summer when they go on vacation, and it's dinner only (opens at 4pm).“

“Oh My Gosh I Love Allegro's the atmosphere is quaint, Friday dinner almost a full house yet Service was Excellent! Approached immediately and sat in the most comfortable chairs for the 2 of us. Within a minute cold glasses of water were delivered. Within a few more minutes the most sweetest waitress (do not remember name but she was 21years of age) arrived to take our order and bring fresh Italian bread. She was very helpful with any questions due to first visit. Dinner salad was a good size (wish I took a photo) The flavor of the fresh garden vegetables tasted as if they had a garden on the premises, so much flavor!SEA BASS is AMAZING! Melts in your mouth, nice size excellent seasoning included was a choice of vegetable and a twice baked potato. Beautiful presentation! Cheese cake was my choice for dessert. First bite "what is the subtle flavor" maybe almond oh my gosh, so good! Allegro has the most incredible chefs, everything was mouth watering perfect! Service was Exceptional, Atmosphere Incredibly Comfortable! My friend ordered filet mignon , spinach salad and the lemon cake and offered a bite of her dessert which too was outstanding.I would consider myself as a Foodie. Nothing brings me more joy than delicious food, Allegro Nailed It! A hour drive from home and I was already thinking when to return before I ever left.I will be back next week to celebrate my birthday because I cannot think of a more perfect way to celebrate.Thank You Allegro honestly I would not change a thing~Perfecto!“

“Lena's is delicious. There is a reason why it's been a family restaurant but after the brothers passed away it lost some of that family appeal. Nobody knows your name anymore. It was awesome 24 years ago and it's still ok now. ?“
“We enjoy eating there and they treat you respectfully,. Their pizza is very good but their customer service is better. My son who was bedridden ordered a buffalo chicken pizza. I took it home approximately 10 mi from the store and when I opened it there was no chicken on it. He called back and the owner drove a new pizza to our house..“

“Overall, a great experience! It took a bit to arrive because it was very fresh. The pics we ate,bbq chicken, was delicious. The garden salad came with soft fresh made bread as well. From the banter we could hear from the back, the staff really liked each other and worked well together. The store was clean and they were accommodating when we told them the TV was to loud. Great place, we will go back!!“

“I saw the reviews for Claysburg Pizza were good and they were right. It's really good pizza dough. We got 2 strombolis and I was highly impressed, that dough is special. The article on the wall says they sold 200,000 strombolis in a year, which is remarkable for a town this size. I can see why, I had the buffalo chicken boli and my kids had the taco boli. It's probably the best I've ever had. If I ever return to Claysburg, I'm definitely returning to this pizza joint as well.“

“I went here to dinner with friends and my daughter who is 17 and has autism. Sometimes crowds and loud noises bother her. We did not have a wait to be seated. We were greeted right away by Cross, who happens to be one of the best servers that I’ve ever encountered! He was right there with drink refills and anything else we asked for. Our dinners came right on time, no long waits. He was friendly and we all enjoyed his company. He made our visit to this Olive Garden one of the very best! I definitely recommend this restaurant! I hope you’re lucky enough to get Cross as your server. We even got desert to go! We were stuffed but the line up looked so good, we couldn’t say no! Excellent service, excellent food!! My daughter also loved the evening. Nothing stressed her out, and she loved Cross too.“

“I've been to Tavern 27 multiple times and have always found them to have good service and good food. Before the Pandemic they used to have a fantastic New Years Eve buffet that was always packed and a favorite of everyone in our group. Unfortunately they have yet to resume that practice post pandemic. Regardless the food for the most part was always been great. I've had both lunch and dinner there and have found little if anything I could consider wrong with our overall experience. I do note that the restaurant clientele has been sparse at dinner the last few times I have been there but that may be a consequence of the seasonal nature of the club and golf course. It has had no effect on the food or the evening. I do wish however that they would bring back their holiday buffet as it was one of the nicest evenings out around. All in all I'd definitely recommend an evening at Tavern 27.“

“My son and I visited the Hollidaysburg/Altoona area after placing the winning bid on an auction package benefitting a non-profit organization. Included in this “Altoona Adventure” package was a 2 night stay at Allegheny Street Bed & Breakfast. This non-profit is near and dear to our hearts, so kudos were already in order for the generous donation. I’d hate to sound like a broken record, so I will keep it brief and say that the numerous reviews describing warm and accommodating hosts, delicious breakfasts and immaculate rooms, are spot on. I spent most of my time at breakfast trying to take in every detail of the beautiful space, filled with instruments and antiques. We stayed in the Megan Rice room, which was cozy, quiet and utterly lovely. We enjoyed the stroll along Allegheny Street to check out the charming shops, cafes and restaurants. The location was convenient to many attractions (Everett Railroad, Chimney Rock Park, Horseshoe Curve, Railroaders Memorial Museum, DelGrosso’s Amusement Park, Boyer Candy Factory). Honestly, we just left, and I am already looking for reasons to go back. Jyoti is a gem of a host. Highly recommend.“
